Associate isnt a good change,most PAs didnt want the change,it confuses patients,sounds like we are doctors partners and pisses our supervisors off no end.Assistant is far more appropriate and accepted.
At this point, the profession as a whole is moving forward with the name change, state by state and organization by organization. What matters now is a united front and integration of the new name. In my personal practice, I've always introduced myself as the PA -- and that isn't changing with Assistant to Associate at all.
@@thepaisin if you say PA anywhere outside the states,nobody understands.It cost over a million dollars for the name change when your still saying PA,a total waste of members fees against their wishes.
