Thank you, Father Mike. My husband died unexpectedly and I am in a dark place where everything seems futile. This homily spoke to me, I've watched it 4 times now and I have started praying for the virtue of courage. I have committed myself to facing the paperwork that scares me for 1 hr a day. Please pray for me and I will pray for you.
I'm so thankful for your homilie, father. I am living a hard situation in my life, and your words are now this fire inside of my heart. I'm from Brazil and I love to watch your homilies. They're always fantastic!
Refuse to quit- even in the face of darkness (there is more to this life, than just this life) There are things worth living for. Be the one who can carry the fire in the darkness.
"There are some things that are worse than death, and better than life". We need Hope & Courage to endure & persevere through this fallen world towards eternity -- to avoid Hell and to see Heaven (God face to face). Choices matter -they move you closer to one place or the other. "The coward dies a thousand times before his death, but the valiant only has to die once" -Shakespere (How we face each moment matters)
‘Call upon the LORD, For it is (“I” ) that will be with you’…. “At once [Jesus] spoke to them, “Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.”” Matthew 14:27
Fr Mike I was looking at a old video where you were playing a guitar and I didn't know you sing and play guitar I have to say great singing, Mary did you know) and cool that you play guitar 😎. God bless.
Death? Why would we wish for a luxury at a time like this. Dad, son shared a meal with a thief that mentioned this on The Road. My favorite movie line ever.
We are living in the end times. The Kingdom of God is near. Repent and Believe The Good News. If you die as an evildoer or sinner - this is what you are going to hear from The Lord Jesus "Away from Me, you evildoer . I don't know you". You need to: die to yourself, die to sin and live for The Lord Jesus. Read the whole chapter of Romans Chapter 6 and be enlightened.
I have difficulties because I was abused and I freeze up during my divorce police officers abuse me because of the judge because he wanted me to do something that was wrong and not see my kids anymore I have a lack of faith in the system and justice and every time something difficult happens I freeze up
Thank you father Mike . Do you have a email if anyone wanted to ask you a question? I definitely would like to write to you or just ask a frew questions.
Lack of courage? MRI studies show that the brains of people who have suffered traumatic abuse in childhood are altered so they get "paralyzed" when they have to go anywhere. The researchers were trying to figure out why some people were chronically late. I had an appointment with a priest I was looking forward to, and when I was getting ready to go, my hiatal hernia flared up so I could not swallow. If God puts it in our heart to do something, why, then, does he not give us the ability to do it?
What you are missing is the how. Even when you said from the movie/book the father and son .... but never told us how the father helped his son. Why even bring this dark book up?
You must be so alone. I spent a great deal of my time alone and I tell you this the times when I am with other people and I can rejoice and let my hair down and have fun make the times that I am by myself much easier to take, you need someone else’s heart
Thank you, Father Mike.

"The Road"... the father showed the son how to live, in a dark world, with Hope.
❤️" everyone who sins wrestles with discouragement & everyone who goes to confession chooses HOPE"❤️🙏😍
His way of delivering a message… just penetrates! Awesome 👏

This atheist here never needed a higher authority to give me hope or courage. I am not a follower. I walk my own path. My heart is my only guide.
Yet, you stopped by to listen, which is great!
