Great tutorial once again Dave. I really liked your tips on setting your white balance with the aid of the saturation slider. That really makes it easy to see and easier to correct the white balance. Great idea!

Really like the technique. I have a sunrise photo where, when I opened the shadows and increased the exposure, it added an objectionable amount of color noise to the green grass. I might experiment with this technique to see if I can paint it away.
Really enjoying the videos Dave. You helped me stop pulling my hair out on one key element... I was so quick using Rapid Mask but when I upgraded I couldn't figure out how to continue altering the mask, for example with dodge and burn and I loved the expand buttons. Thanks for getting me back on track.
I do have one related question. Is there still a way to select the Black channel using the LAB color space? I found that so useful on Rapid mask but now it seems the only thing that's been cut from that section. Any ideas?

Wow I really prefer the linear profile. Is there a way to make it the default profile for all pictures from that camera? Also, does using the linear profile have a positive or negative affect on the noise levels in your photo once adjusted?
Hi Dave. In minute 16:13 when you pick the color, the moving ants are a little disturbing. Is it possible to hide them for a while?

Not that I know of Jose but I will check into it.
Do you always use the linear camera profile now? I have been using it for awhile, and I like the latitude that it gives me for my images. Unfortunately, images with "custom" camera profiles do not correctly sync from LrC to the Creative Cloud, and are therefor not useable for my Adobe Portfolio pages. Hopefully, Adobe addresses this quickly. The workaround, export a jpg and then import that back into a synced collection, is a bit tedious.
What would you do if you wanted to add some color AND dodge/burn?
You can dodge or burn with color using the Linear Blend mode like I did in the video.
@@thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly I missed that last example my first time through the video, D'Oh! The lightbulb went on that I can lighten or darken by moving up or down in the color picker. Your videos are terrific.
