Hi Captain Chappy. I recently found your site and really appreciate it. I used to dive and spearfish but now mainly spend my time in the boat. I watched your video about your GoPro set up and after investigating a bit, am wondering do you analyze your videos ONLY after you get back to shore? It looks like there is a way to use cable to do wifi and view the GoPro in real time. Since you actually make these videos, is this practical? I boat out of Tarpon Springs so to get to 120 feet I have to go out 60 miles so I would probably be using my GoPro in waters of 60 feet or less.Anyway I love your channel. I think other viewers are interested about your setup and viewing in realtime in case you are interested in addressing that in a future video. Thanks. Brian
Hi Captain- When fishing for Mangroves, how do you handle a wind against current situation? I was in the gulf last week freelining chunks and doing very well while the current was moving in the same general direction as the wind was blowing. In this case, the lines moved pretty directly away from the back of the boat and the fish came tight on the hook pretty quickly. After awhile though, it looked like the lines were still going away from the back of the boat, but I now think this was probably only on the surface because it was hard to maintain a feel for the bait. When I thought I had more line out than I needed, I would reel in, only to find that I came tight to a fish directly under the boat and many times it would hang me up and break me off on structure. Thinking about it later, I think the current probably started running against a pretty strong wind. So, I think the upper layer of the water was going west, while the current below it was running east. How do you fish for Mangroves in this situation?
Can you catch hogs inside 15 miles of Clearwater? I'm on a SeaDoo Fish Pro and while I can definitely make it 30ish miles out, not sure how comfortable I am running 30 miles in the ski just yet.
Yeah, you can. Get some hogballs and lot of live shrimp, find some decent bottom and weed through the grunts etc until you get to the hogs. I personally would not go any further than 10-15 on a ski and you csn find nice fish 10 miles off of cleareater. I’m in the same area
@@Onthecreeek Thanks for the reply! Yeah we've gone about 15 miles, but that's about it. I would only go further if there was a group of skis with me, but yeah that's what I'm looking for, something in the 10-15 range! I know we can pull in some snapper/gags in that range. I've never caught a hog before so that and Cobia are on my bucket list still.
If you share a spot it'll be blown out in no time. If you want spots like this, just run to your depth and watch your machine. I've got many spots like this that produce nearly 100% and got those from searching the areas. There's something special when you find good ground on your own.
@@floridaoffshoreangler9258 Correct. I've got a few spots that I see other boats on and they don't produce like they used to. It's the stuff you find on your own that seems to have fish that are willing to eat way up in the column
Nice haul. Enjoyed the underwater cam.
Muito top amigo pescador!! Um super abraço do BRAZIL
Thank you, my friend, the fisherman. Fishing is a pleasure known only to the angler..

What’s your GoPro setup look like? Are you using a made up rig or just dropping in water proof housing?
Great video Captain Chappy! I just found your site and subscribed. What under water camera were you using? I definitely want one.
What fish finder are you using?
So it does work in the sea??
Is this an Airmar B175H transducer? Looks like 1000 watt to me and the standard chirp ones from garmin are not impressive at all
