    I hope you'd consider dropping a save file for us with an edited Ramza and maybe 4 other generic characters with really high JP points right at the beginning. I really want to experiment a lot of stuff but the grind and the lack of hardware to edit save file really presents such a steep wall to climb.

      Hi there NierL, I totally understand and glad you asked!
      Here is a save file ready to copy to your memory stick or play on emulator that is right at the start of the game, with Ramza at Lv99 and all Jobs mastered, along with 10 generics with the same. In addition I have put 10 of every piece of equipment and 99 of every item in your inventory.

      Hope this helps you get back into the game and experiment to your heart's content!

    The real question is can we edit in characters that are normally unobtainable but possible to fight/ally in battles like Orran? I've wanted that functionality for a while after beating the game.

    • @TacticsLive
      @TacticsLive  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I want to say yes, for the most part. If it's a character that has been in a battle and uses abilities of some kind, then you can replace one of your troops with that character and you should see their primary ability set equipped. You're then free to use them as you see fit! 🙌 If it's a character that doesn't fight in any story battles, like Tietra, then you won't be able to use them normally and the game will probably glitch out.
      You can also just use the sprites for the characters (applying the same rules above), which I like for my custom premade rosters. 👍

      Same man... I remember I always made a custom Lune Knight character as one of my units. I still have all the ingredients too, the gs pro, a dex drive, even the ps3 mem card adapter.
      Many years ago I converted my original ps1 disc to a psp eboot so I could play it there, looks like my file is in the middle of deleveling characters late ch. 3. I would like to edit that save file, but so far I've found 2 utilities that work with .gme files, whereas mine is in .bin format, so I still have some digging left to do there.

    • @PandorasCrate0
      @PandorasCrate0 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@twobrosgamers8426 Unfortunately I do not. I do still however have my GameShark Pro with all my code in it, but I would have to find all the character and class codes again. What I remember having to do, was to first pick a class that I wanted, say Delita's Holy Knight, then change a particular character slot (any random hire will do) to Delita's HK class, and then I think there was a separate code for inserting character sprites. It's been a really long time, but I used to do it all the time. So I could have custom characters with HK class that look like Izlude, or Miluda etc. If I still had a PS1 I could try to make a video showing how to do it back in the day, but alas I do not.

    Hello! Sorry, I'm writing through Google Translate. Thank you for such a necessary job on my favorite game. Previously, I hacked the game directly through the hex editor, but it doesn’t work on PSP, just like your program. Apparently due to the use of an emulator I cannot decrypt the file. I most appreciated the ability to use unique characters at the very beginning of the game, like the gentleman from the comments above. I could ask you to post a save with a team of level 1 heroes at the very beginning of the game, with various rare heroes? Such as Dycedarg, Balk, Reis, Meliadoul, Wiegraf, Beowulf?

    • @TacticsLive
      @TacticsLive  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Tournaments use the Tactics League PVP mod which has been tuned for competitive play. There are also premade units available in a separate save slot that have been balanced against each other that both players can choose to use if they want to. 👍

    • @TacticsLive
      @TacticsLive  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Kaminoyouni, thank you for stopping by the channel!
      What makes the save file editable is unencrypting the file itself through the emulator. I am not well-versed in Retroarch, but if it has the option to unencrypt save files the same way PPSSPP does then I would pursue that route and see if LionEditor will work that way.
      Sorry I couldn't be of more help, and hopefully you find a way to be able to enjoy multiplayer War of the Lions! 👋

  • @Vorador-8
    @Vorador-8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Didn't work for me, when I try to open the file it doesn't populate the editor.
    Additional info:
    - I play on PPSSPP
    - I did unencrypt the saves
    - I did open the game and overwrote the save
    - I can see the save when I try to open it in the editor, it just doesn't react.

    • @Vorador-8
      @Vorador-8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Solved.
      FYI in case someone asks: I use a patched ROM, that made the process fail. The way to fix it is as simple as modify to UnencryptSave to False on ULES00850_ppsspp.ini alongside/instead of ppsspp.ini (it worked for me while having both modified). After that the process is the same.

    • @TacticsLive
      @TacticsLive  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmm, that's tough to say what the cause may be; I had a bunch of issues myself when I first started and hopefully I can offer some tips to reinforce the steps laid out in the video.
      1. Double-check the PPSSPP settings and make sure encrypt save files is False.
      2. After ensuring the encryption is turned off, save to the same save slot you loaded from.
      3. Make sure you copy and paste a new FFTA.SYS file instead of changing the original to a lioneditor.bin file (change the copy to a lioneditor.bin file).
      4. Make sure you are pointing LionEditor to the correct file folder.
      If you do get the .bin file loaded and edited, make sure you overwrite the original FFTA.SYS file (though I prefer to delete the original and create a new one), before encrypting your save file and saving once more. I hope this helps! Feel free to message me on discord via Tactics League and I can try to help directly. 👍

      Hey there SMG, thanks for checking out the channel! Any characters that you have fought with or against in battle is fair game, as you can assume they have all their animations.

    • @TacticsLive
      @TacticsLive  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Careful with high Faith! If your characters have too high Faith they will leave your party. The highest recommended Faith is 85 to avoid desertion threats.
      Also applies to units with Bravery lower than 20, so watch your Treasure Hunters!

  • @shiaosiong77

    The fun part of playing RPGs is enjoying the process of developing your characters; using a mod will kill the fun totally.

    • @TacticsLive
      @TacticsLive  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree in the sense you are missing out on a rewarding experience of grinding a character towards a goal.
      When viewing through the lens of creating a balanced PVP roster, getting your stats tuned exactly how you want is very laborious so having a tool like this saves a lot of time. For the players who want to blow through the story battles this is also a useful way to save time. It really is up to the player to choose their own way to play. like using cheat codes or mods in other games, while detracting from the challenge the developers have created it allows the player to make the experience their own.
      I appreciate your feedback, and hope you enjoy the content!

      I believe players can experience the game in whichever way makes them happiest. I like playing the 'natural' way. I also like quickly modifying characters' stats for PvP purposes. I agree with the spirit of what you are saying, and I think FFT:WotL is best enjoyed after completing the story. I like a challenge, and I can also see how others may want an easy play-through. In any case, I hope you enjoyed the video and thanks for your feedback. 🙏
