Absolutely loved this review. You took us on an in depth journey into Glenmorangie. I'm sure your father feels proud after seeing your presentation here. I have to go now to get some Glenmorangie ......Slainte!
riccosx the standard Glenmorangie 10 is such a friendly scotch. A great entry point, and also a great base for modification, exemplified by their finished versions in the core range
I love this whisky...I bought a bottle of the 10 year just on the sight of the bottle it's self...beautiful presentation for their base liqour, and the color of the whisky itself...stunning...I was shocked by the liquor inside once opened and poured...very lovely...caramel and orange peel with slight vanilla notes...I could live in this I thought lol...the taste didn't disappoint either...lots of caramel, vanilla, alittle spice...wonderful beginner whisky...this is my go to gift for family and friends...I've tried two other since then, Lasanta 12 and the 18 yr special reserve...both very very good...one of the absolute best Scotland has to offer, in my opinion of course...cheers
This is for sure one of the best whisky videos! Thank you so much. It was great to see everything "in person" with a great commentary. After your first words I was very glad you do not have a strong accent like most of distillery guides usually do haha
Was drinking Glenmorangie with Dr. Bill Lumsden last night. We tried the Original 10 year, Lasanta, Quinta Ruban, Nectar D'or & Signet. He's a true master.
Glenmorangie 10 is the scotch that really lit a fire in my soul. Until then, I'd been trying to get a taste for it with blended whisky. It was that first sip of single malt that turned me on like a light switch. Ever since then, the number 1 spot in the whisky cabinet is ALWAYS occupied by a bottle of Glenmorangie 10. And if I don't have a bottle, that spot remains EMPTY until I replace it. ;)
My wife and I and friends have also done the distillery tour at Glenmorangie. Very interesting. We bought a private edition spios at the distillery. It’s the only distillery in Scotland that uses hard water, not soft, which I thought was interesting. Great video Ben.
Great video! I learned a lot. Your passion is contagious. Thank youi very much, Ben! (…and Horst too…) :-) Also: Glenmorangie is God's whisky! …or the whisky of gods… ;-)
I really like the original 10 year, I have a bottle of the Quinta Ruban 14 year waiting in my cabinet. Still waiting to get all my taste back from Covid to open that one.
The way I see it, Glenmorangie Original 10 year is the EL34/84 of whiskies because it's bright and has a lot of mids. The Glenmorangie Nectar D'Or is the 6l6GC/5881 because it's darker and has some top end sweetness. Might sound crazy and some of you may have no idea wtf I'm talking about, but for those who do, you'll know I'm talking about power tubes and how I just made an analogy out of them for Glenmorangie whiskey. lol
Out of the four that they tasted the Quinta Ruban is my favourite with the Nectar dOr beeing a close second. The lasanta isn't bad either but quite some ways behind the other two. The original is another huge step behind the three others. Not bad by any means, but it's clear that it's a mass market Whisky
I love bourbon, I occasionally enjoy a good Japanese whiskey, Canada too, Let’s not forget ole Ireland. However, there is something about Scottish whiskey that just takes the cake. It might just be my pallet, but dang, these Glen morangie whiskeys are fine! The Quinta ruban is so delicious, and for the price too it just does it for me.
In Northern Virginia, there is Lidl and Aldi and you can find some of the products in World Market. As for beer, we have Total Wine which has a good selection of German beer. We also have www.germangourmet.com/.
Great video. Glenmorangie has always and will always be my go-to. Enjoying the sherry cast, now that's its a warm fall evening. Ruined most other brands for me (in a good way loll). Great on price and a true (put your slippers on) and sip in time enjoyment.
I like Glenmorangie original. However, the part where he talks about color.. well, from what I understand they add color to their whisky. AGAIN; I like Glenmorangie still what is is what is.
Glenmorangie 10 was my first Single Malt. I was very underwhelmed. It is too light for my taste. I then had the Nectar D'or right after the 10. What a difference! That is a wonderful Whisky!
@@paulcaswell2813 I can still taste it. it's like eating bbq then eating a plain turkey sandwich. just gotta give it some time between the 2. drinking Glenmorngie right after Ardbeg does ruin it a bit
@@gordyn5292 Lasanta is colored 100 % rest probably also because they would state it on the bottle as they do state that is not chill filtered , I don't mind it but they know it is colored and yet admire colour rly
@@strasnodimke I don't mind coloring that much, except when certain makers do it somewhat cynically. I'm only going by what a couple of the whisky review channels said in some videos. Whisky.com said that chill-filtering studies concluded that it doesn't affect the flavor in blind tests, but that it some respects, it could actually improve the flavor. I think it should be law everywhere to state if it's colored and chill-filtered or not.
Gordy N I’d rather have it chill filtered than colouring....I only buy whisky that has no colouring due to the fact that there is no need for it if casks are good...that’s what makes whisky good....descent casks.
The audacity of the distillery rep to claim that lowering the abv and chill filtering the Lasanta lead to it becoming a better whisky... Nevertheless, the new 14yo Quita Ruben and the Signet are extraordinary whiskies.
I must be one of a small minority who finds most Glenmorangie whiskies harsh, as in bad/harsh wood. It's like chewing on toothpicks. I'd say the QR is decent but 10, Lasanta, and Nectar d'Or I'd never purchase again.
Quinta Ruban is everyone's favorite. What an incredible whisky.

Thank you so much. In June 2019, I was there, on my one and only distillery tour. Great to see the place again and to have another tour.
18 years old , my favorites ****************** all stars ,, thank you for sharing your lovely experiences , Have a nice day , Tom
Informative, good editing and production value, well done.
Eh yea, it's good yea. So yea...
Great to see you tour Glenmorangie. The Original is my most often pour, it's very agreeable to me..friendly and never argues.

I like the 10 year old with a single small icecube to open it up and have it chilled personally.
Wish Glenmorangie (and other brands) would return to their old presentation and marketing in the UK.
This goes without saying I’m sure, but I always impressed with the cleanliness of these facilities. Everything matters.
Cleanliness is next to godliness. Thus great whisky.
always exciting to explore each distillery with this channel!
Absolutely great video and especially loved the embracing of the four Scotches. Thank you for this pleasant and informative presentation.
Fantastic video! I visited Glenmorangie two years ago - a true delight! Cheers 🥃😊!!

I love QR and Lasanta. Even their standard 10 is a quality pour.

Doesn't Glenmorangie add artificial color to their whisky? Why does he talk so much about the color of the whisky and compares it to the Original?...
Quinta Ruban is natural in colour. No colour is added to it. He just compared Quinta Ruban and I already said it is natural colour.
I love Ardbeg but I also love Glenmorangie for not being Ardbeg. not all Scotch needs to be peated :)
If your palette is attuned to Ardbeg, can you even taste Glenmorangie? ;-)

Too long, did not need to include all the "how to make whisky" content.
I think you say the name wrong 😉
He definitely does, I grew up half a mile from the distillery, it's pronounced as if saying 'orangey' as in a shade of the colour. Not Mo-Rangie.
Please stop saying "yah, yah, yah.. every 3 seconds.. please! Yah!!!!
The story of a great whiskey told by a blithering tongue tied narrator...how sad
You could have at least learnt the proper pronunciation
