Ben, I noticed your glass is fuller than Allan's. =) My mouth is watering watching you drink the generous drams!

My Great Great Grandfather would be so proud to see the distillery operating so well to this day. I was there last year however no tours due to Covid.

Another well informed review Ben. I've noticed in a few of your reviews how you alway almost whisper in the dunnage rooms. Like you don't want to wake up the whisky before it's matured :-) My goto channel for distillery reviews. Thanks for sharing :-)

The attention to detail -- both in the distillery and in the tasting room -- is impressive!

Great tour and video Ben. I've been going back to some of these tour videos and am really enjoying them. They are very informative. That was an excellent interview with Billy. You are a good interviewer. You know when to comment and when to let your interviewee speak.

My favorite distillery. They know their stuff, very good quality spirit and casks. They make fantastic single malt. In my opinion they are better then Macallan. To bad prices has going up like crazy.

Definitely better dram than the "overpriced" Macallan (where Macallan also chill-filters their whiskies) and definitely more tasty and better made than Macallan.

As more of a bourbon-drinker, the Glendronach and Macallan are the only two Scotch whiskies I'd buy - mainly because those are the only two Scotch distilleries that don't add caramel color to any of their products. And while I like the Macallan double-cask (with a mellow American oak influence), I also prefer the Glendronach 12, for its spicy European oak bite - which is better (and certainly cheaper) than its Macallan 12 sherry cask counterpart.

Just got my first bottle a few weeks ago, took a cpl weeks to really open up but tasty stuff now. I'll be getting another and it tastes all the better when you see a good look at the distillery too.

Amazing that GD gets such a high Sherry flavour profile to their whisky when the barrel surface area to whisky volume ratio is low. Some in the industry have been experimenting with smaller barrels to allow a stronger barrel influence.

I love Glendronach - It was my favorite brand of scotch until I discovered Glenfarclas, but the Glendronach 15 year still has a place on my bar, because it's a must-have, and very different from Glenfarclas. I really want to try the 18 year, but I've never seen it for sale here in Colorado. I've only had the 12, 15 and 21 year. I know I'd love the 18, if I could just find a bottle. As a label-reader and bourbon fan, I ONLY buy uncolored scotch and rum. Artificial coloring (caramel color) is a deceptive and pointless practice, and I'm glad more scotch producers are going natural color, and more scotch consumers are demanding that.

Hello, I'm Johnny 🙂. I have been tormented by one question for several years 🙂maybe you know 🙂. We all know that the Glendronach distillery was closed from 1995 until 2002, and after opening they had a shortage of young spirits. I know that you were visiting the legendary Billy Walker, did you ask him what and what year of alcohol he poured into bottles, for example, in the 12-year-old Glendronach, the original in 2012/2013?

Hej guys! Will someone PLEASE tell me if 18 years "Allerdice" bottled in 2019 With Rachel's signature not Billy Walker's on are still older whisky or is the 2019 gone back to 18 years old. I have an 2018 which in 23 years old whisky in with Billy Walker on. 1996-2002 closure. Some say 2019 is lighter and not older whisky anymore. Spring batch has Billy on but july and november has Rachel signature on. Why do you think - know. Please help!

I have heard 18yo bottles dated up to mid 2020 will still use the old casks due to the marrying time (up to 6 months - water being added to reduce to 46%) and the delay caused by covid. Also the few months it took to start the distillery back up in 2002.

Awful lot of good whisky there that isn't being drunk. Please tell me that you finished each of the (pretty decent sized) pours of the whiskies!

You say Speyside but on the bottle says Highland... That's the only little comment I can give.

Additionally while watching this formats complete video there was a very distracting droaning audio hummmm in the background which I have never heard from any of your videos in the past. Thought you may want to get some feedback on this issue as well. I did thoroughly enjoy the Glendronach Distillery Visit. Great stuff!....Thank you.

G man I believe that is equipment running at the distillery. What are they supposed to do?

    • @marksaliba4194
      @marksaliba4194 5 ปีที่แล้ว

Certainly is equipment running inside the distillery. Notice the lack of hum in the warehouse and during the interview.

I have been viewing both formats initially and I must say to my surprise the 8k format is horrible and does not compare to the quality of visual presentation, sound, etc. I'm not an expert but just as a regular viewer I thought you would want this feedback. In the beginning I thought I was going to have the exact opposite experience. Thanks for experimenting!

@@WoodshavenPatriot Reply was made in respect to these great guys. They are experimenting on the two different formats and my guess is they would like some positive feedback. Please keep positive and notice my respectful Thank You @ the end of my comment. Maybe you should do the same. Happy Holidays!
