    At this point, I'm convinced Tyler has enough footage to last until his daughter becomes an adult and she can just take over the channel with footage that Tyler recorded of her growing up. Always love the nostalgic feel of these videos!

    I remember Christmas of 93 being on a Saturday. Which to me as a kid, is the best day to have Christmas. Saturday morning cartoons and Christmas presents on the same day??? Doesn't get any better than that. It looks like you had a Christmas that many kids wished they had (especially kid gamers). Opening all of those games and being able to play them without a care in the world sounds like paradise. I remember my family not being able to get gifts in 93 due to money issues sadly. I remember being angry throughout the days leading up to Christmas, but then on Christmas day, my anger was gone. I learned that Christmas was about more than just gifts and just because you didn't get anything that year, doesn't mean it still isn't Christmas. We did get gifts in early January though (ironically that's when we got the Genesis). But yeah, Christmas of 93 taught me a huge lesson and I will always appreciate that. Your 2001 footage reminds me of the Christmas I had in in 2002. I got the GameCube with Sonic Mega Collection that year and my dad saw Sonic being played for the first time. it was a great time. You videos are always an entertaining watch and I like that your videos are more than just about games, but also about family. And it's always good to see a happy father and son relationship.

    This series is so good. These vids take me back to being a kid when the highlights of any gift-reception events were video games. Seems like Christmas of '93 for me was when I got a SNES for bedroom (we already had one in my younger brother's room(whose name is Tyler, and he was a big Sonic fan back then)) and Secret of Mana. Anyways, thank you for the awesome videos!

    It's great seeing this and also Xmas traditions for others.
    Here in the UK, we just open presents on Xmas day morning, the BIG presents so too speak, then in the afternoon my family would have smaller gifts, though a lot of the time they weren't small lol, but they were from the family.
    All gifts were wrapped.
    But seeing a lot of videos on here from gaming channels, they say how the gifts from ''santa'' were never wrapped.
    Fantastic how one day can be so different for so many.

    It reminds me of my own Atari 2600 haul of 1982. What an amazing Christmas that was. Video cameras we're exactly commonplace in the average American home at that time. Also, there was no way of knowing what games were coming out or if they were even any good. It was always a pig-in-a-poke. That year, I even got the spectacularly awful E.T. that my mom was sure I'd love. This channel has been a wonderful nostalgia trip for me

  • @Cadeho3
    @Cadeho3 ปีที่แล้ว

    That time period was perfection! I wish I had more to document it. I got my Sega CD and Sonic CD that Christmas as well. That was my freshman year in high school. After Christmas break, I have no idea how I had so much time given my school day was from 8am to 6pm with athletics, a half hour drive home from school, dinner, homework, and tv AND recording the radio... when did I fit this game in? I have beaten it multiple times. I have always loved the soundtrack to the American version. I ripped it to mp3 years later and I still play it from time to time. My favorite tracks were the past ones and I was upset they couldn't rip. Then a few years ago, I discovered the Japanese soundtrack on TH-cam and loved how their versions kept the same motifs for each level. I was able to buy the soundtrack and I play both every now and then when I need that dose of nostalgia and to jam. ... man, you make me tear up...

    I just watched a huge video on the Sega Saturn. I never owned it, but after seeing what it was capable of in terms of 2D, I bet that it would’ve slaughtered if it had come out in 1993 rather than CD and 32X.
    I had a friend who had the tower of power, but seeing as Saturn did all that CD and 32X could do but actually fast, it has me wondering what it would’ve been like if it had come out a couple years earlier.

    That poor kid opening 'Mario is Missing' on Christmas morning. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.

    The soundtrack on the UK and Japanese versions was so much better than the US one. I still listen to it now.

      That's not true. Kids can have responsibilities like various chores. Adults can have no responsibilities to take part in do to being in a trapped situation in life. (No work in your town, no car, ect.) It's just when your young things have tge biggest impact on you becsuse everything you experinace in ecistance is new to you. The impact lessens over time do to familiarity of experiances and your intelligence that grows that can start predicting how a situations can turn out and nit pick things with deep logic that can kill the magic of things. Adults tend to lean towards the pesemistic lens of life do to the intelligence of seeing how harsh reality is, (disease, death, ect.)
