    Thanks for the video really great Can I ask how to block the Fly wheel if the engine is still mounted in the car ?

      Hi, you need to remove the crankshaft sensor, that way you can block the flywheel. Hope this helps.

    Hello,
    What is the time interval for replacing timing chain in 2.2 tdci mk8 engine?

    • @E-Mechanic
      @E-Mechanic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The timing chain normally needs to be replaced between 80,000 and 120,000 miles.

    Good Morning
    I have followed your guides on rebuilding the transit mk8 2.2 but when tightening my cam carrier, the exhaust cam is going tight. I'm using the original cams, head and carrier but it's still tight. I got no evidence of burs, have cleaned everything but just can't work it out. The head was torqued correctly aswell, I'm totally baffled. What torque do you tighten the cam carrier bolts to?

    What about the lower chain what is it and does it need replacing?

    • @E-Mechanic
      @E-Mechanic  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The lower chain is for the oil pump. Generally you dont replace it but it is advised when you replace the oil pump or crankshaft gears.

    Hi! I saw many people releasing tensioner, and than tightening up upper gears, what's the difference? in those approaches?

    • @E-Mechanic
      @E-Mechanic  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I prefer to tighten the gears first and then release the tensioner but both way will work as long as the chain is fitted in its position.

      @E-Mechanic thanks for prompt response! Will be finishing work tomorrow, It's really "fun" doing it with engine fitted 😂

    Is it a noninterferrnce engine?

    • @E-Mechanic

      Hi, It's a non interference engine.

      @@E-Mechanic does this mean no damage if chain slips ?

    • @E-Mechanic
      @E-Mechanic  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@anonymous-qf8qe every engine receives damage when timing chain slips but it depends whether it damages the top end or the bottom end.

    • @werner.x
      @werner.x ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@anonymous-qf8qe I don't know, what a non interference engine is - maybe it's, what in Germany they call "Freiläufer", but there is no single Diesel Engine in this world, that has enough room above the pistons to NOT touch the valves, when timing is way off.
      Although i don't know Mazdas low compression Diesel. Any other Diesel - no way.
