    Thank you sir for the very clear lecture! I am learning a lot from your youtube uploads. But may i ask what’s the difference of soil fertility and soil productivity? I can recall that my prof in bs says that soil fertility is the ability of the soil to provide balance nutrients to plant and does not ensure high yield ( bec. concern only on chemical fertility) while soil productivity is the ability of soil to produce high yield bec nutrients in the soil are available and other factors such a soil structure (physical fertility) and microorganisms (biological fertility) are favorable. Now, do you mean that soil fertility similar to soil productivity sir? Thanks sir..

    • @ProfessorKukalSoilScienceClass
      @ProfessorKukalSoilScienceClass  ปีที่แล้ว

      Soil fertility includes chemical (nutrient availability), biological (converting soil OM to soil OC or humus) and physical (drainage, plowability, aeration, water-holding capacity, etc.) fertility. On the other hand, soil productivity includes soil fertility plus input management factors including environmental factors. In terms of soil science, I feel that soil fertility is much more important whereas in terms of agronomy soil productivity is of concern. I hope I am able to make the things clear. Thanks for your concern and appreciations. All the best. Just on the lighter side, I could not get the name "Dose of Hope"!!!!!

      @@ProfessorKukalSoilScienceClass unending thanks for the enlightenment prof. And for being responsive. I have noticed in your recent uploads that you’ve got rid of your cough. I am very happy for your recovery prof. May i suggest that you use whiteboard instead of blackboard with chalk. Dust from chalk may have worsened your cough. May our God bless u abundantly esp the best health possible. By the way, my channel uploaded inspirational quotes. I personally need this to motivate myself to keep going and maybe others.

      @@doseofhope2023 Thanks dear for your concern about my health. Yes, I know that chalk might be contributing towards my health. But its weather changes that affect my cough more than any other factor. The blackboard with chalk is my pet method of teaching for the last 38 years. I appreciate your passion about inspirational quotes. All the best. My regards.

    Hello Sir. May I ask what is your recommended books to read to fully understand anything about soil? Thank you.

    • @ProfessorKukalSoilScienceClass
      @ProfessorKukalSoilScienceClass  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes please. I would recommend a very good book which includes all aspects of soil "Nature and Properties of Soils" by NC Brady. For Soil Physics, I shall recommend "Fundamentals of Soil Physics" by D Hillel.
