First, thanks for the review! Second, ugh. Thanks Bose. LOL. I just bought 2 of the old S1 Pro models less than a year ago, and now they come out with this upgraded version. The major upgrade as far as I can see is no more physical knobs! I had to build a custom road case with lots of foam to protect my very expensive Bose S1 Pros from breaking the knobs off during transport. Also, when I looked this on Sweetwater, the guitar and mic wireless dongles are NOT included in the base product. So, 699 for the S1 Pro+, then an additional 300 for the two wireless dongles. PLUS they are 2.4GHz - which is always going to be problematic in a packed venue. I have no idea why Bose didn't go with a 5.8GHz wireless system. So, that's a thousand bucks for just ONE S1 Pro+ with iffy 2.4GHz wireless capabilities. You buy a second S1 Pro+, and now you're looking at nearly 2000 bucks with tax. I mean, I love love love my S1 Pros. They are an insanely good piece of kit, but I cannot justify selling them and buying the new, improved S1 Pro+. Yet. I may have to revisit my opinion on these if they upgrade to 5.8GHz wireless, but for now I'll schlep along with my "old" S1 Pros, protected in multiple layers of foam padding to save the precious physical knobs, and a couple of inexpensive standalone 5.8GHz wireless units to connect my guitar and mic to the pair. The sound quality with the "old" S1 pro is exactly the same as the "new" S1 Pro+, so that's good.
Thank you so much for this review/show. It's a pain to try out different aps and PAs now that loads of music shops are just online, so your video has helped me with my decision. It helps that you are clearly a talented player and singer... Bose should hire you to do the demos!
Very helpful. I just bought my unit and I’m trying to figure it out, the directions are pretty lacking. I’m going to be playing my flugelhorn/trumpet against backing tracks that I’ve composed. I’m playing small rooms and I’m amazed how versatile this unit is. But I found that I need help, because it’s not just an absolute plug and play situation. Having the appas a tool really helps. Thanks again!
Probably one of the most amazing videos that help to explain and show off an item you are using It was brilliant, it was so clean and understandable, and it was amazingly helpful You have sold me on one. One question can you link two together to put each side of a stage? Thank you for this video . I really loved it and appreciated it.❤️☘️👍
I put a Dream 65 between the Bose and my acoustic, without a preamp between the two, the Bose will have a heavy mid "canny" sound when plugging straight into it with an acoustic.
TOP Review! It´s amazing what 500bucks gets you these days! Im trying to get my old Fishman Mini loudbox fixed + plus i need a new Mixer. Maybe a wireless or two too. I think I need to cut-my-loses & get something like this. Half the time when we plug our gear in at a pub - that power is connected to a dozen fridges & TVs - which isn´t good for the old 50 & 60 cycle hum! Cheers from SPAIN. The Land Of Dirty Power
Thanks for this video. Really appreciate you creating these contents. I need help, just bought S1 pro + speakers with the Bose mic transmitter. I would like to know if if I need to purchase a separate adaptor or an interface with my SM 58A beta mic to enable me connect to the speakers? Need some help. Thanks
Seeing this in the wild, I guarantee I’ll not hear anything come out of it as jammy as that Easy like Sunday morning tune! Whenever I recognize your demo tunes, I grab my guitar & work out the details. Good piece of kit for a 2 channel PA, the insert function is a nice touch, but might make you tethered to a wall plug (for a pedal board) when one of the big functions of this system is it’s battery. I bet hooking up a Fender Mustang Micro would make this a completely wireless system with an electric guitar.
Hey! Got a question/problem but im new to busking. I connected my pedal to the bose and ran it wireless from the board to my guitar. My mic is using the wireless transmitter too. But when i sing and play with a percussion (by hands) on a loop, it kinda does this ducking thing where my mic cuts volume in and out, not totally but enough to be annoying :(. Is there a setting i havent figured out?
Hallooo…it’s really nice video of you👍🏼 I have one question…I just bought the S1 pro+ last weeks and the Mikrofon (Shure Beta 87A) also. The problem is that the Transmitter wireless Mic not working with the Beta 87A I guess…I don’t have a any signal or whatever😔, or maybe with Bose S1 pro+ should be with another Mikrofon or what? Maybe someone’s know about that? Then I can buy another Mikrofon when it’s like that. Thank you very much🙏🏼
The Beta87A is a condenser microphone and these transmitters only work with Dynamic Microphones since they don't require Phantom Power :) hope that helps
How do you get power for the pedal board would that be wireless too? Sounds like if you need to plug your pedalboard to a socket its pretty much the same thing
The pedal board works like any pedal board. As for the Bose it’s operating with an effects loop. So the guitar is wireless to the amp and then from the amp you are using an effects loop to your pedal board
One more thing - does the new S1 Pro+ allow wireless connections between two units to share channels one and two? The S1 Pro does, but ONLY with input from Channel 3 - in other words, bluetooth streaming. If you want to share channels one and two with a separate unit, you have to use a cable and the line out on one speaker, over to a channel in the second speaker, which is lame. I mean, OBVIOUSLY the capability is there because you are able to wirelessly connect two units to stream bluetooth audio to both speakers, so why in the world can't you do the same thing with channels one and two? That little thing has always irked me about the old S1 Pro.
@@JayLeonardJ Thanks for the info. What I was talking about is CONNECTING two units together wirelessly. You CAN do this in the Bose Connect app on the old models, but ONLY with channel 3 (the bluetooth channel). If you want to sing and play guitar into channels one and two on one unit, then connect a SECOND unit to mirror the sound on the first unit (or go stereo), you CANNOT connect them wirelessly, you must use the 1/4" line-out and a 1/4" to XLR balanced cable to go the channel one on the second unit. It would be awesome if you didn't have to use that cable. Then, you could be truly wireless with two Bose S1 Pros, instead of having them connected by a cable to get sound to both speakers. I know, I know, it's a small nitpick, but I always wondered why they can do it for channel 3, but NOT for channels one and two. It must be something very technical that I am not aware of. :)
You can connect them via BT but only for streaming music via channel 3. If you want your mic, guitar or anything else plugged into channels 1 or 2 to play through 2 speakers at once, you have to physically connect the speakers via an XLR cable. This is also the requirement for the Everse 8.
Not wirelessly but you can wire two units together. I also believe that the new Bose music app that replaces to old connect and other apps, allows you to stream music wirelessly via Bluetooth to both speakers
hi Jay......trying to compare your sound between bose s1 pro + and L1 pro 8 ......your voice is less present on the S1 pro demo for i guess you're a little bit too far from the mic and it looses it's wet side then it's hard for me to hear the difference between the two ....(i'm a singer)...i had to give up my L1 pro 8 because of it's weight and back issues but i hesitate with the S1 pro because i have the feeling the sound is not as present and round as with the L1 pro 8 and i'm afraid it wouldn't be sufficient to play for terraces of bars and private beaches...what's your opinion??
I see a lot of people using the previous version outside and it’s surprisingly loud and covers a large area. But at the end of the day it is what it is and it’s not a full blown PA system and have a specific uses case. But if you need more grunt then you can use two of these speakers and if needed add a sub like a bose sub1 or sub2 or any other sim on the market and then if you really need more grunt that you could add an L1 Pro 32 column to the set up and use the S1 Pro+/s as monitors. There are a lot of ways to use it while being able to scale to any venue and audience size.
Unfortunately the volume on the microphone is way too low even at the highest setting… not sure why in compares with a cable source?? Very disappointing
Thousand dollars, and still same old tonematch with no noticeable difference, bass/treble no mid, only reverb no other choice of effects, 300$ transmitter/ receiver that only works for this PA, any noticeable change in power, still worth it? by the way, you are a wonderful guitarist/ vocalist!
Yes the transmitters only work with the new S1 and most probably the new versions of the L1 Pros. But you actually can use the wireless capability of the S1 in with any PA or amp by plugging the the S1 line out in to what ever system you want and use the S1 as your monitor. And sure it comes with a basic reverb. Want more? Use the effects loop capabilities and then you can use any effects you own which will always be better than any backed in effects.
This is the first demo of this unit that I’ve heard that doesn’t use phone audio to capture the ambient room sound of the speaker. Well done!

Awesome demo Amigo. Feel like selling my old one for a Pro +!☝️🤪
If channel 3 can connect with my iPad while I stream a backing track through OnSong, this would be perfect.
Yup, you can connect your iPad via bluetooth to channel 3 :)
awesome stuff sir!!!!! thank you sooooooooooo much!!!!!!!!!!!
Most welcome!
Awesome video man ! I am a fan now. Subscribed !
Thanks for subbing :)
Awesome!
Waaaaaoooooow
This is wonderful
👍👍👍😍😍😍
Is it possible to receive sound from it via Bluetooth on a smartphone?
Have try with edrum.
Excellent!
Many thanks!
I just ordered two!
Yeah! Enjoy :)
Very interesting piece of gear.
What pickup/mic are you using in your acoustic? I hate piezo twang and that's one of the best sounds I've heard.

Could you set channel 3 to livestream mode, then use a USB headphones for monitoring
How do guitar preamps like the Dream 65 perform through it?
that was awesom
thanks!
does that wireless work ok with any guitar, also how does it work with a strap?
Hola amigo ...pero esa es una versión nueva de la s1 pro ? . Porque se ve distinta
A great solo rig. But is it possible to add a vocal mic through 3rd channel?
No, only channel 1 and 2 unless you have an outboard preamp
Can the mic line /instrument can be used with the previous S1 pro ?
i would prefer analogue VHF wireless so i would look for an alternative unit and just add on a wirless VHF link.
With my current Bose S1 Pro’s I can use the connect app to create a stereo pair for my backing tracks. Can this be done with the Bose S1 Pro+?
how big a venue can this handle?
