I love stained brutal calamity it makes me cry for three reasons one the composure is absolutely amazing two it tells the story of the characters and three I feel like it tells the story of dokuro himself it’s not the games story it’s his story and honestly that’s better than the games story
feral amalgamation is one of my favorite themes tbh, its so underrated because it gets overshadowed by toxic wisdom and universal collapse. i think probably the main reason the boss gets hated is because of how its similar to plantera with the chains and the small bullets
Honestly a hot take I have is that I think it's best to fight Polterghast right after Moon Lord, because it's the easiest post Moon Lord boss fight available at that stage. It's pretty easy to fight in both single and multiplayer (death mode included, I haven't done Infernum yet), one of my friends summoned it as a joke while we were finishing our arena, and we still won with Moon Lord armor and gear (3 people on death mode, keep in mind we were struggling on the Profaned Guardians). Its weapons are also better than Providences weapons IMO, especially for rogue (the ghoulish gouger outclasses many post DoG weapons, such as the Eclipse's Fall only beat slightly by the Executioner's Blade) and melee. IDK why it says in the wiki to do it after Providence and the sentinels, but the fight is pretty fun and easy, just fly around in a circle and dash, easily the easiest post Moon Lord boss fight by far.

By far my least favorite infernum boss fight and a straight downgrade from the original. Even though DoG is way harder imo, it atleast was "Fun". Polterghast is just shit.

Imo cryogen is underrated. His attacks are well telegraphed or give you enough time to dodge them. The theme also sounds pretty good to me (I understand that might be a weird take, but I kinda like it). His drops are actually very good. While so far I’ve only played mage, rogue and melee on calamity (with the latter 2 being infernum) I do think the avalanche is by far the best melee weapon at the stage and absolutely shreds the destroyers hp, making you be able to practically skip him. And the kelvin catalyst is also a very good rogue weapon at the stage which is also obtained from him. Plus he lets you access cryonic ore, which is useful for all classes I’m pretty sure.
Ohoh yeah... Some of your takes certainly confuse me. I jum some of them up to me being inexperienced at Calamity still, but Ravager being boring? Jesus christ that one hit me hard. So far, Ravager has been rhe most difficult thing in the whole game, probably since im melee-only but DAMN he is harder, I then realized he got a buff after beating providence and i dont think i ever fought them again. In fact, now that i think about it, i haven't done much after facing Providence but i know i loved the fight. This is a really good tier list tho!
About polterghast (I’m gonna be talking about infernum here since I do not remember the vanilla fight at all cuz me and my friends breezed through it first try) His attacks feel very clunky and badly telegraphed. When he summons the circles of pink projectiles you know he’s going to dash but it’s hard to know exactly when, since he does not have a telegraph for this. The attack where he dashes up and down spawns way too many projectiles that just linger there for way too long, making it feel unfair when you get hit since they are pretty hard to see and the arena is pretty cramped. And he just does things pretty spontaneously again without telegraphs. Like sometimes he does the red orb throw attack. Then he stops, I think he’s done and then he just does it again??? I’m by no means a master at the game or something so say everything I say with multiple grains of salt, but this is just an honest review coming from an average infernum enjoyer.

I'm just an absolute sucker for Infernum Exo Mechs, I absolutely adore Draedon's favorite war machines, can't get enough of them. They're my favorite boss in Tmod at the moment, hands down. Even in the base Calamity, Exo Mechs come out on top.

Honestly I reckon base Polterghast is more fun than infernum polterghast. Plantera is a fun fight, and a juiced up post-moonlord plantera is very nice. Infernum kinda makes polterghast more bullet-helly and some people like that, but It kinda lost its uniqueness in the process.
A lot of wor k was put into this video and this is really cool! The top is very objective, but I disagree with one thing so much I decided to write a comment :D. And this thing is the Old duke. Honestly, I would put it at the bottom of the list, despite the fact that his music is one of my favourite songs of the mod. His calamity fight isn't that bad, but... We already have good boss - Duke fishrone and fighting him again after time is just... boring? Besides, this is the only boss whose summoning item is so difficult to get (in vanilla calamity). Don't blame me, I love vanilla Duke, his calamity versione is good too and his infernum rework is AMAZING (one of the most fun fights in my life!(without arena, of course)). But old duke was never original and creative and his infernum rework too. It is just speed up old Duke with devorer dashes (I literally had to stand on the ground so that the dash could roll back befor the next boss attack. And it wasn't even fun! Infernum DoG one of the best battles, because you need to manage the positions of his body and think through the patterns of your own movement, when the Duke is just...meh) and unfair almost completely invisible sea urchin spikes (gray on gray, great). So, what do we have? The most lame and unoriginal vanilla calamity boss + the most lame and unoriginal infernum rework. My subjective rate of this boss is: design:6 (rotten Duke looks cool), calamity:2, infernum:1, music:8, Bias:0. Sorry forthe errors in the text, I don't know English very well :).
Even if Im 3 months late, as a infernum profaned guardiansenjoyer and nohitter I got to point some things out: - The flappy bird isnt all that bad. you shouldnt just try and rush it like you did in the video, just stall and move vertically until a clear opening appears. If you become good at it you might even be able to skip phase 2 with adrenaline. - If you say it is shittier providence, it’s because it’s supposed to be. the boss is designed to teach you her attacks, and it does it well. It is a complex boss, but it gets real fun when you master it. Also gotta disagree with the 9.5 in infernum yahron when in P2 after 75% hp you can just time 6 dashes in place and then jump out of the fire circle to win. It is arguably a worse infernum boss that cal clone or even aquatic scourge
Only things i disagree with are Astrum aureus, signus and infernum polterghast. Astrum aereus is still a very boring fight to me, i’d rank it lower. Signus’ high speed attack with a banger soundtrack always keeps me interested. I would’ve put it a bit higher. Infernum polterghast is borderline unfair 😭, but the foght is still fun, so ig the ranking isn’t that far off. Other than that great list 👍
Cryogen is pretty easy as long as you just look around the screen and know what attack hes using, but i can see why you hate him. The soundtrack is alright, but I don't see any real problem with the boss. And for the profaned guardians, its just a skill issue.
Your stance on Infernum Perfs Vs. Hive is actually pretty unpopular from what I can tell, everyone I've seen recommends Crimson world's for Infernum playthroughs because of how much better most people think BoC/Perfs are to EoW/Hive. Personally Perfs are my favorite prehardmode Infernum boss alongside Deerclops.
bruh Cryogen isnt that bad, like you have tons of worms in that thing and you chose a boss that is visually interesting, you fight it on ice biome which makes it unique and interesting (well later Terraria added Deerclops i guess) and i dunno what you mean by "making artificial biome". You dont need that much space. I fought providence on ice biome (it got hallowed lol), theres room... Maybe on infernum he is like 3000 times more annoying, i fought only on regular revengance. As for drops, they are kinda not eh on its own, but not only you can combine them for very good rogue weapon (the Kelvin). He also "drops" an archmage NPC that has some useful items (most notably cheap food and supreme mana potions). You really gonna put Storm Weaver higher? Seriously? or Profaned Guardians??? Their drops are more ass (yeah they are mandatory, but its like stepping stone rather than being excited for new options...), the visuals arent that interesting to me (oh look. its a wooorm. how original). I guess you also fight them in unique places at least, but "space" isnt really a biome full of interesting visuals... In fact i think storm weaver might be the worst since i even forgot he exists before your list reminded me. I dunno unless cryogen on infernum gets like 3000 times worse, i dont see it.
I am a casual player, I would say the Exomechs are the best gameplay wise, and Supreme Calamitas and Goliath the worse (Calamitas is a bullet hell, its BRUTAL, Goliath is just annoying ngl.) This is probably a skill issue from my side
Man all of the post-sentinels fights seem so hype, but infernum profaned guardians are so garbage😭😭😭 Man this video gave me motivation to beat those profaned simps
Yeah ravager is easy I couldn’t do the mechs on my malice mode playthrough (when it existed) so I used early jungle temple key killed some bouhlders got the bricks made a death whistle got vesevus and plowed through hardmode

Phantom Spirits are able to spawn after defeating ML, and if you kill enough of them, Polterghast will spawn.
