This rule set is ever so slightly lenient since it's a whole run not just a level, and it was very difficult, so, yeah.
VIOLENT DIFFICULTY (Except for 0-5)
I HAVE to ATTEMPT to parry, no random swinging.
I CAN MISS MY PARRIES… occasionally, if it was too bad I reset.
None of the rules bellow this apply to Filth, as they are so weak and annoying to parry that I genuinely would have fallen into even more of a downward spiral if i had to reset to them. it had to be pretty serious for me to actually reset on filth.
No Ground Slamming Enemies, none of that.
No melee hits if it was not an attempted parry (this means no Knuckleblaster too).
I am allowed to use Knuckleblaster for breaking walls and such though.
I can throw coins for Ultrarichochets (Malicious Faces & Sentries), it’s technically a parry and for Sentries it’s the only option.
I am allowed to use Whiplash for movement.
NO SKIPPING BOSSES. I.E. I cannot use the Greed Secret Level to skip the entire thing and Insurrectionist, and really will only use a secret level when I ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO (I.E. Wrath 1, even if it’s a bit cheesy)
The only level where I somewhat cheated was 0-5 (Cerberus boss), because it was so ridiculous. I had to switch to standard and really panicked near the end (that was the closest i got after 4 hours), so i did hit them a few times (on accident).

I had that happen to me once on accident and it ended up giving me an instant Maurice kill. I didn't realize that was what happened until I saw a guide covering Mindflayer instakills.

When hakita said "you can parry projectiles" he really meant it.
Fun fact: if you grapple a drone and punch it counts as a parry and launches it off into the direction you're looking (if you kill) and gives the +Homerun style bonus
One of my favorite tricks, it's basically a free explosive shot
also works with the knuckleboom, just doesnt give the style bonus
Fun fact: You can parry virtues right as you see a purple flash. It's a small window, and doesn't really act like a parry, but you get the frame stop, so it counts.
Anything with a white flash is a parry so I think it's a parry

Fun facts: you can parry with a point blank shotgun blast. You can parry leviathans bite/lunge even though it has a blue flash (needs extremely strict timing).
It's the same as the cerberus apple except 1 less frame
A tip for swordsmachine I picked up during my fists-only run, for his 1-2-3 swing attack, you can parry the first swing + dash through him at the same time, the second swing will miss most of the time if done correctly, which will let you parry the third swing as well without taking much/any damage. When you get the rythm down, its mostly about sliding under his leap+spin attack and punching him in the nuts but this was inconsistent for me and I wasn't bothered to find a better way. Good video though :)
Edit: I suffered trying to parry Maurice's laser too, but I found punching Maurice while he "flashes" before firing will also give you a +parry and a lot of damage
watching parry only while feeling like your brain cant understand more then 4 things at once is truly an experience

26:10 when the virtues shine purple that means they’re about to attack, you can punch then when they glow purple to parry them
I actually never knew this till a few days ago but you can parry the maurice laser beam with fist you just need to be right up closed to him like how you would with the shotgun

Good video but that light flashing is so godawful. It just looks so bad and hurts my eyes. Same goes for gibberish of letters and numbers. I know that you added epilepsy warning props to you for that but I'm not epileptic and it still hurts my eyes.
I find it easier just to grapple a Maurice right as it’s combo finishes and then wait for the cue that I can parry the laser and just bonk it
Going into this video I knew it was going to be tough, then I realized there was a major hurdle: Street Cleaners. They have no parried attacks, and in Act II, you encounter a Street Cleaner linked to an idol.
Before the idol encounter, Street Cleaners can be killed by parrying other enemies' attacks to friendly fire kill them. However, the only way to defeat the idol boosted Street Cleaner with parries would be to Maurice them (Maurice death crushes the Street Cleaner regardless of immunity) so that the idol can switch to a target that can be parried.
Edit: I just remembered you can skip the encounter.
A good strat for enemy’s that shoot projectiles is getting up close and punching right before they shoot

Fun fact! You probably already know this but when Malicious faces are charging their lasers, you can punch them while they are doing this to parry them! Havent actually tried parrying the laser itself but I dont think you can.

Here are things that could have helped you win this easily:
_when Maurice is about to fire his beam you hear a ring, then you have a small time window where if you punch him with the feedbacker (blue arm) it's a parry.
_when ranged husks are about to attack you can punch them in close range to parry and interrupt them, the parry window for schisms is quite long.
_virtues can be parried when they shine purple and their winds close.
_turrets can be parried right before they fire when their eye shines orange.

Very good video, I enjoyed the touch of the subtitles. I didn't even realize that they were subtitles in TH-cam they were that well done.
Little thing that irritated me, if you do something like this again, turn off in game subtitles and try to avoid overlapping text. It was mainly in the boss cards that you made where the flavor text was at the bottom that had text overlapping.
Other than that little thing with me this video is great! I may just do my own melee only run (I don't have the mental strength to do a parry only run). Any tips for people who want to try this kind of thing?
