Don't be a fkin idiot trying to equate incestuous relationships to queer relationship between consenting peers.

For the record, "date" being used in different context and settings goes both ways(still, using the word "date" for a day out between family members like one comment I had to delete mentioned is, very inappropriate unless used as a light joke that is intended to be ironical).
Those different contexts does not erase the obvious romance implied between characters, which the comments in the video are trying to do: plain and simple queer erasure. Masked under the excuse of "I want pure friendship", conveniently activated only when the relationship is non cis/hetero.
If you are having trouble understanding this, and still want to come up with "oh they turn out to be hetero, they only go on dates with same gendered people for fun", read this again 3:55. And some bi people(unfortunately) don't take homosexual relationships as seriously as hetero ones. There's one to take into account.
I already made this video clearly addressing the people who were stubbornly trying to erase the obvious lesbean insisting the two are "friends", because "date" is supposedly something with different meaning according to them. Dēto still maintains its meaning "dēto" and no amount of other unrelated examples and excuses change that. I didn't even show Ryuko saying "okay! Lets go on a date".

This isn't about culture. Only a coward or a player would say a "date" is something platonic friends go out on..... 🙄🙄🙄🙄 Friends go out to "hang out"

Yesterday I had to deal with a commenter that wrote a full length essay about how much they are stressed about seeing romantic relatioships, and cited examples of "families - brothers and sisters, dad and daughters going on "dates"" in mangas(🙄🙄🙄) along with the examples of "hetero girls going on dates with other girls for fun(🤔🤔🤔)" also in mangas or animes or whatever,
...all of that to say my "assumption" about 'dates being romantic' was not true and how the dudes in the video were right to say "dates" aren't romantic at all.
Like this whole video is trying to dunk on phobes disguising as "pure friendshippers" using clear cut and dried examples, and the lad pulls "family date" card on me. That's why I wrote that pinned comment about in**st bcos what the fck. Its new years day in Asia and I get chastised by a professional weirdo on day one of 2024. Dear oh dear.

Its so annoying how some people craft a heteronormative explainarion for everything. I watched kill la kill durimg 9th grade and that date scene was the first time I saw a lesbian confession. So cute.

Yeah even if it's small it could mean a lot when you see something like that first time?
Haruka-Michiru was the first lesbean couple I saw in the media(but I was too little to fully grasp it), and Haruka was the first female racing driver I ever saw in any media. The latter part is quite tragic if I think hard about it. But anyway.. cheers👍

We have the same word/expression in Russian.
Go out, walk, "pogulyat'", "gulyat' " , "walk with someone", can be used and understood differently, depending from the context and tone. As a hangout for kids, friends, friend group OR as a date/stable dating. Same with the word that can be translated as "meet". It can be used for friends, for work, for colleagues and for your, well, love interest.
This is plain old homophobia/lesbophobia and i am reaaaaally tired of it.

Hey, hope you are doing well.
Yeah words can be interpreted in various ways, sometimes date as well but what a lot of these masked phobes fail to(or willingly ignore)is that "date(de-to)" is, like someone already mentioned, a loanword from English. It's written using katakana. It was adopted in recent history to mean something with romantic feel to it, unlike the English users who originally gave it various meanings and decided to use that one romantic meaning for specific occasions. Like literal "date" as in the number of which day it is on calendar, we use "日" to signify it.

Did the animation studio stated anything. ? Unless they did sadly its probably just your headcanon, they're the only ones who can give the information if it was intended that way. Problem being that Mako is a slapstick humour toon character so she does almost nothing that has to be taken seriously (the most serious being the episode where her family is apart due to their fortune and its still very hard to take seriously except when Ryuuko is in the scene).
Given the said date involved Satsuki its hard to imagine that it was beyond humour (but supposedly friends dont do that for whatever reason? Except people do and can but hey internet people and relationships)
Btw lesbophobic? Just say homophobic . It already conveys the same term. If not convinced go check the language called "Latin"
I doubt you'll even read that because given the comments you wanna stay in your bubble and only tolerate people who go in your way and think like you on fictionnal characters that arent important. The irony is very strong within you to do such dictatorial move while proning tolerance. Internet these days

1st paragraph: excuses. Read from 3:55 to the end again. Also if you think its a headcanon why do you go around saying its wrong? You can move on, but something bothers you. You are triggered.
2nd paragraph: lesbophobia is a subset of homophobia. The opposite isn't true. Stop trying to be a smartarse.
3rd paragraph: you aren't getting your comment "censored" if you get your lousy comment snuffed because you implied incest and queer relationship are something that can be considered on the same level, or imply that queer relationship can be nullified because of "families go on de-tos" because you are a westerner who don't understand how english words in Asian languages work. That was the case of the one comment that got deleted. They got warned that if they kept speaking nonsense, their comment would be removed.
Governments and society can censor people. I just get idiots out of my personal channel, which is unfortunately a part of my life. You are trying to become borderline that. An idiot.

    • @pricklypear300
      @pricklypear300  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

My whole life I had to listen to rubbish from people like you who don't even stop to think what you are doing is causing damage, and I am the one living in a bubble and trying to be dictatorial? That's called "accusation in a mirror". Look it up.
Is it the queers who are throwing the straights off the top of the buildings? Or cut off fundings of their straight children and remove them out of the household? Trying to make laws against the heterosexual relationship or heterosexuality itself? Perform corrective rape to cure heterosexuality? Perform genital surgery right after childbirth to make them intersex? No. The straights do that to lgbtqia systemically.
You, meanwhile, is complaining about your idiotic comment being removed by a mod. How do you even aim to handle society?
