This album is what made me fall in love with Whitechapel, i even have a physical copy of the album somewhere. Even though i don't really like their newer stuff, they are definitely still in the top 5.
Id have to say this and the Valley after months of listening. I REALLY love This is Exile and New era but man they are just "too heavy" for the ears. this is like a perfect balance mix. I'm not saying its too heavy. im saying the quality put into the production and song work. If I want to hear more of fast whitechapel and kevins drumming i'll put on old whitechapel 100%.
On whitechapel there's no "best" for me because all albums are good, unlike most deathcore bands lyrics are based and deep, phil had a hard life and that's what makes lyrics even better and more relatable, specially this album which is extremely relatable for me personally
Ultimately my favorite album of all time. I listen to many genres from 80s to old school hip hop to Spanish (salsa, merengue, reggaeton) to classic rock, heavy metal etc. Hate pop and the "rap" that has plagued us for 10+ years lol. Long story short, this entire fucking album is and always be a damn banger for me. It helped me in the dark times and still does. The lyrics, instruments, vibes, just everything helps bring me peace. Ugh, I fucking love this album and always will 🤟💜
I remember when this album came out, most people where bashing them for changing there style in the slightest degree, but I guarantee now that they are more mature they are digging the progression and ashamed they didnt see it before because they where just too in love with the somatatic defilement and a new era. Both which were great albums but you can only rule such brutality before you prove you've bested it and need something fresh lol.
This is Def my favorite album from them. I also stuck to the "Big name" bands in high school. How I was blissfully ignorant to follow mainstream. I cost myself yrs of stupid sic music. I'm glad I came back across these guys 5-6 yrs ago. One of my favorite bands now. His growl/vocals are right up there with suicide silence and thy art is murder for sure.
I think everyone has the album that introduced them to a band that changed their life and perception..For me, albums like South of Heaven, Ride the Lightning, Vulgar Display of Power, Sacrament, Nocturnal......this is that WC album for me.
Sir Haclerode: A crucial piece to the elite circle of metal drummers who are those drummers that continue to perform mortal kombat grade brutalities...
The only thing I've only really listened to from whitechapel was the live cover Phil did at mitch luckers tribute show. Still like to listen to it time to time. But that wasnt even whitechapel just phil covering unanswered with SS. This past week though I've listened to their most recent one back to now. This one is definitely a banger.
first record I found of them in 2016, after I heard section 8, I bought it immediately. Then I bought our enless war in 2021, the valley in 2022, mark of the blade 2023, and kin in 2023 at the as i lay dying show.
Coming back to this album at 24, vs. being 16 first time I've listened and holy fuck lmao. The faces I've been making.. brings me back.. this shit is amazing
someone please explain why this album received so much negative feedback. i was a freshman in high school and i thought it was a great album; still do.
One of many bands I didn't give a fair shake in high school due to musical elitism. Glad i've started to re-explore those areas
Why couldn't an elitist appreciate Whitechapel?
@@dustin898 It was new, metalheads never seem to embrace new haha.
Wasn't very elite if you're here. You were just a jack arse
its kinda wild cuz they were way better back in the day than now.
I feel you. Not being 14 is fucking awesome.
I remember when this was the "new" Whitechapel lol, glad to see so many of you in the comments to re-explore and enjoy what you've found
I love Make It Bleed so much
