I was literally on Fedora 41 KDE edition, and I just switched back to Windows 11. (With a local account of course.) Anyway, I enjoy checking out your Linux and or your setup related content. Keep up the good work!
@@TheBlackDon I wanted to try 24H2 to be honest, and it will probably sound stupid but: I am a student and my midterm exams are online, so I was worried that if I were to use Linux and take the midterm exams maybe something would go wrong. (And I would have to retake the exams or something.) However, I removed the Windows ISO from the USB drive and put Fedora KDE again so I will probably switch back soon.
Doesn't sound stupid at all! I can understand wanting to make sure your system is stable before your exam! That's pretty important lol. I'm not one of those Linux users that are like "no you must come back to Linux now!" 😂. I just like when people at least give it a try!
@@TheBlackDon That's actually one of the reasons why I enjoy watching your content. (You don't force people to switch to Linux.) I actually have been going back and forth between Linux distributions and Windows a lot. In my case, it mostly has been between EndeavourOS, Fedora (or Fedora KDE DE), Pop Os!, and Linux Mint. (I kinda want to try out Cosmic DE too but I doubt Cosmic will get released before Summer of 2025.) In my case, both EndeavourOS and Fedora works great for me. Can't wait to make the final switch and become telemetry free soon.
Thanks! Yeah, it's not helpful to force people to do stuff. Just show people it's inviting and worth it and people will want to try it. I was on endeavour os for a while, it's a good distro. Fedora is pretty good too. I'm not a huge fan of their package manager but it's a stable distro. You can join the discord if you want. We help people who are new to Linux. I hope that one day the kernel anti-bs is solved in a way I just don't need windows... when that day comes we can finally say that we play any game on Linux... until then it's either dual boot or having two computers...
@@TheBlackDon even so... there are games that you won't be able to play with boosteroid or any cloud gamming platform... and so it happens that I have one game that I like to play that falls into that category... League of legends :D So no I have to dual boot and for the other games that have kernel anti-cheat that does not solve anything that was supposed to solve anyway
Firstly, great video, good work! Secondly I want to ask a question only because you use laptop with external monitors in Arch Linux, Hyprland. I have the same setup like hyprland on a gaming laptop with dedicated GPU etc. I am using external monitor with HDMI cable which connects to my 3060 Mobile GPU. Whenever I use that external monitor, the monitor get lagged, looks like very low fps and my GPU usages are getting high. I use windows as a dual boot, windows hasn't got that issue. Did you face with this problem or can you suggest anything?. I am desperate right now.
Thanks! 💯😎 First I was asked if you are using the proprietary driver's? You may have to update some things in your config to get the most out of your Nvidia GPU. I did experience flickering at one point but I was able to solve that. If it's not GPU related it might be how your monitors are set up in your Hyprland config. Gotta make sure it's set to the right scale and resolution for that monitor that is connected.
@@TheBlackDon I am checked everything and I can't get them work fine. I will try CachyOS tomorrow. And if you not forgot, can you say how did you solve the problem? Thanks for your quick reply. Note: If I use only the Dedicated GPU and set the system as work on only Dedicated GPU, only my external monitor works and it is not working low fps. My integrated laptop GPU shows only black screen.
@bugraerenbulgay9080 that is very interesting! Cachyos is a great distro with good Nvidia support. That's definitely worth a try. If you still can't figure it out join the discord and my and my community can help you out further! discord.gg/sUDGzEH9Ms
Nice setup mine is a bit weird i have a windows virtual machine on linux and a separate graphic card just for the vm 😅😂😂 just to save cost. is it stupid yes but does it work absolutely
i was thinking of doing something like that have a home server running a windows vm i just got a question on linux how would i be able to separate my audio sources and is there a device like the stream deck plus that would work for linux if there is how that's the only thing that is really holding me back from switching
If you're using a VM you can specify what audio sources get passed through. And for the stream deck I am not sure if there is one that works with linux, I'll look into it tho.
This video is about using moonlight to use a Windows PC to play any games while using Linux. It's a walk through of my current set up. If you want to join my discord in the description we can definitely help you with your set up!
Not really? I explain how I can play any windows game while still daily driving Linux. It's an alternative to using a VM or GeForce now, Shadow PC, ect.
wow, pretty setup man. I don't game much but I do like to game casually time to time and I can appreciate the seamless transitions between systems 😱
I appreciate it! 💯 Yeah it's also useful for work. I have to use windows for certain programs and I can seamlessly switch when needed.

I agree! I did end up fully switching my gaming PC to Linux but I still use boosteroid for anti cheat games.
