I was thinking the same thing. Born in 52.

I’m surprised that you can’t pull certain pins and disconnect that loader, but I can see why unbolting it may be easier.

This could be very interesting. Back in the day, they built things to last. Just like me.

I laugh and say "Better you then me" while nervously wondering how hard it'll be to change the torque converter in the car.

"how hard?" is, Certainly, the question.
Because it sure as H won't be easy. 🥵😖😧🤬🤬
      BTDT. 🤬🤬🤬
If you haven't BTDT, be careful, that TC weighs about as much as the transmission.

@@zapa1pnt that's why I'm weighing if I should pay someone. I'm just gunshy. I paid someone to change the fluids and filter. By the looks of it, they drained about half the fluid off, took my money, and claimed they finished.

@@mandolinman2006: What makes you think you need to pull the TC?

@@zapa1pnt it's acting like it's slipping. Seems like it's taking higher RPMs to get to speed and a slight delay in changing gears. Also noticed some sounds after it goes into gear.

@@mandolinman2006: Well, I was going to say it sounded like the trany needed a rebuild, until I looked it up. 🙄 Ooops. It seems the TCs go out a lot more than I thought.
However, as I found out, a bad TC puts out lower pressures and causes slipping of the clutches and bands. That's bad. So I would suggest a TC AND a trany rebuild. It would be a shame, to replace the TC and then later need to do a rebuild, because the old TC damaged the clutches and bands. That's a lot of extra labor costs (to pull the trany again)
and extra down time, assuming you don't get stuck somewhere and have to pay towing.
      Good luck. Oi!
