My crystal ball says the next evolution will have the ACSS CQB reticle (which includes BDC dots ideal for multiple calibers/configs) and for that level of precision it’ll have to have 1/2 moa clicks
Im in the Houston area where PA is. They have been at my gun club blasting thousands of 308 rounds through a scar with their optics. They even bring an air compressor to cool the barrel between mags. They blast away for hours testing the durability and the zero of optics. Their guys are really cool and are glad to talk to everyone about their products.
You guys definitely prefer higher end stuff, so you giving this a thumbs up is a big compliment to primary arms. I will be buying one. See if you can get a discount code…win win
I don’t think I have one of the original red dots, but it is older. I put it on my .300BO pistol and had it on my tractor. The rifle slid out of the holder and the tire ripped the red dot off and I ended up running over it with the tire and bushhog(the blades didn’t touch it). I got off and found the sight buried in the ground. I put it back on and shot it the next day and it was still zeroed. It did tear up the detent that locked the QD latch though. I contacted Primary Arms via email and asked them what the stupid tax was on replacing the broken parts and was told that it would be no charge(to my arguing) and I had the replacement parts in under a week. I have been a fan ever since. I still have that red dot and also have one on my turkey shotgun and it has taken the abuse of 3” magnum loads for several years. I haven’t used any of their magnified sights(red dot or scope), but wouldn’t be scared too.
Ive run the 3× prism on a 1/8 twist 16 inch for the last 2 yrs and everything 300 yards and in is a cake walk. Love the ACSS reticle. The Cyclops is a very basic version of the ACSS, my 3× has wind speed markings also and further distance hold overs
Just put one of these on my 9mm Banshee. The biggest selling point for me was the etched reticle. And I love the ACSS reticle. I have a PA 1-14x on my Grendel, the holdovers and ranging marks are spot on. The coyotes hate it.
I recently picked this optic up but the one with the three times magnification. It is an incredible optic. It does everything 99% of people need it to do in a very small footprint and an excellent price. Thanks for the review
From what I've heard on several other channels, you are 100% correct about PA designing that reticle. I think they have 1 or 2 other reticle designs as well. A great company it seems. I'm planning on getting a green cyclops for my AR and give a prism scope the old college try. At $269 for the green, I won't get hurt and I don't need a mount for it either. All said and done, you're out the door for the sale price w/o buying anything else for it. Not a bad price after pricing EOTech or some of the other designs out there.
as someone who owns elcans, eotechs, acogs, rmr's etc this is an exceptional option for 1x, their 2x is fire and their 3x version of this will be excellent, add in their platinum series and budget lpvo meh 🤷♂️
Great optic! Outstanding clarity and amazing mounting options. Mine's currently on a BRN 180S which has a high rail and came with Troy Micro HK sights and even with that oddball setup I got a lower third cowitness from what's in the box. Amzing
put on a unity fast mount. you got a deal. the hashmarks are the length of shoulders so if they are prone and you can see the shoulder structure you can identify the distance without a perfect standing target..
Just bought the green illuminated version with the slx 3x magnifier. I love their products. They’ve always surpassed my expectations with their products.
Took the 1x to a 600 round class and was absolutely astounded by the glass quality , eye relief, etched reticle, and brightness . Still can’t believe these are under 300. The only knock I have on the PA optic is they are a bit of a pain when using night vision in comparison to my Aimpoint comp m5s . Still usable but you can’t beat a simple red dot in that regard.
I have one on my 11.5" 5.56 gun and I just got my second one for my 300 blkout. I will be getting another one for my bolt action 308 hunting rifle. I really like this optic.
Yeah I like this thing a lot. The main only con with this is magnifying it for me. I can get a clear setting with one but not the other. The magnifier I have to dial all the way back for a clear picture but it does mess up the clearness of the reticle by itself. I found out if I want too use both I have too keep the brightness around 5 so my astigmatism doesn’t affect me reticle. I’ll probably just run it without the magnifier. Don’t really need the magnifier unless I need to identify targets far away and realistically I’ll never have to do that.
I personally own multiple different prisms from PA and multiple generations of those prisms. They're definitely a poor man's ACOG that said I really hate ACOGs. They have horrible eye relief and eye box but they do have clearer glass then the PA and a longer track record then PA. I also own a few LPVOs and high magnification optics from PA in their platinum line that kick some serious ass... Great video as always keepem coming guys!!!
This optic is by far my favorite! Mounted in on my go build 11.5 barrel super light weight and added the micro magnifier and extended the range to reach out and touch targets at distance. Great video!
I got one recently. Love it. Love the reticle. Plus "shake awake" And if the battery dies, it's still etched. Love that idea. Sold me on the purchase. I'll be buying another to replace my Sig Romeo 5 on my other rifle.
I have a Holosun 503G which has an ACSS reticle, while i love the light weight and compact nature of the 503G, my astigmatism doesn't let me see the ACSS reticle at 1x very clearly. I'm really gravitating on getting this V2 1x Cyclops, its still light weight and compact enough!
I love the content you guys are putting out. Love reviews from just regular people This is my second favorite prisim optic by primary arms. You should look at the glx as well if you get a chance
The thing I dig about this scope, especially the 3x version, is the weight savings. If your gun is already on the heavy side the last thing you want to do is bolt on 2lbs of LPVO.
Primary Arms makes some solid budget optics. The ACSS reticle is phenomenal. For $250 you can't go wrong with this optic. My only issue with my ACSS Raptor 1-6x is the brightness. But then again it's a $400 LPVO.
I seem to prefer Vortex. I have a vortex sparc 2 on my shotgun and a Vortex 1-8x LPVO on another item, with a Vortex Uh 1 on my wishlist. I have a Holosun on another shotgun and the Primary Arms SLX micro on an AK. I dunno, maybe it's my imagination but Vortex is middle ground between cheap chinisium and high end Gucci stuff.
@@almostontimehero5415 I've heard nothing but good things about the Viper PST 1-6x. But then again you're looking at $800-900 with a solid mount. I love my Razor 1-6x, but for $400 the Primary Arms Raptor is a solid choice. All depends on your needs, budget, etc.
Damn that seems like a great optic! I have the Holosun/Primary Arms “T1” style red dot with the ACSS reticle, it’s really good. This one seems slightly better since it has the etched reticle, adjustable diopter, and night vision settings. I’ll definitely snag one for my birthday/Christmas since they’re both in December ha! #TreatYoself
I'd say the selling point is for us that have astigmatism. I have some red dots and dont see a dot but a comma. With the etched reticle this is not a problem.
I have one primary arms red dot. I was really impressed with the quality and as you said it came with all kinds of mounting options. If I didn’t know it was budget I would have thought the machining was really high end.
i just sent mine with the 9mm reticle back monday, part of the reticle (edge of chevron)would not light and had a flaw but i sent requested a replacement with the normal acss as its bigger. the 9mm version with the bullet drops is way to small. smaller than their standard gen 2, which i already have and like.
So, what do you use for 5yds, 10yds, etc.? The one thing I like about the Swampfox Blade is the Bullet Rise Compensator which has points at 5, 10, and 15yds as well as the 25/50yd point.
Cool review! The only thing I heard that I think might be misleading is throwing a magnifier on it will not work as easy as using a red dot. Sometimes you can’t get the diopter/eye relief? distance correct, sometimes you cant turn on the brightness without making it unusable. It’s possible, but not 100% easy like with a red dot magnifier or lvpo. But I really want one of those cyclops 2s from primary arms.
Primary Arms is 20 miles from me & every sight I have plus my Ghost Precision 300bo upper came from P.A. They have great durable scopes w/ lifetime warranties.. I believe their "budget" scopes are made on the same manufacturing line as Vortex but I could be wrong . 🤟

I was able to get a 5x mil reticle before they sold out, since the 5.56 reticle sold out almost immediately. You guys should grab one of their new 5x models and do a video on it.
I didn't see anyone mention it but the different ranges for zeroing is 556 out of less then 16in looses just enough velocity were at 400 yards the rounds will hit low. 14.5in to about 8in is close enough range to be fine. Any more then 20in it changes again

I may eventually try one of these but I just can’t get past the value of the Romeo 5 plus magnifier. I can move the magnifier to any of my rigs with Romeo 5s. I have an ACSS Orion reticle in a PA scope and like it, although the scope is too heavy…which is another topic. I just don’t see the chevron being useful on this prism for holds when it’s so small. The ranging marks are nice though. Also the mounts are very slick. Well done there.
Damn I've been hearing nothing but good things about this little optic.... I'm just guna have to put my snobby-ness aside and get me one. I mean it's not like I'm a high speed low drag operator anyways lol! Thanks for another great video guys keep up the good work.
I have the Gen 1 version and the reason I like it better than the Gen 2 version is SIMPLY because of the mounting system used. There aren’t many reviews out on the Gen 2. There are dozens out on the Gen 1 and even more importantly there are torture tests and data to prove the absolute TANK build quality, I’ve watched a torture test of the Gen 1 where I guy beat it with a bat, threw it in his pool for days at a time. Drug it behind his vehicle going fast and don’t let me forget he also straight up barbecued the thing on a grill and then froze it over night and it never stopped working or lost zero so with that data, reliability and more it combined for a perfect optic for my 11.5 build for CQB and SHTF general purpose.

@@minajamesrevenge9831 I've got the 503c green version with solar and the dual reticles, but I'm really diggin' the etched acss with holds. Plus it'd look dope on my pws mk111 mod 2
Any chance one of you (or anyone) deal with astigmatism? My Romeo5 on my 10" is a starburst, and my 510c on my 12.5" is moving drastically less starbursty. How did the "crispiness" look on the prism?
Does PA make a flip over magnifier for the prism optics? I am trying to avoid going LPVO. But it seems like if you install a 3x magnifier you loose decent eye relief and speed from the prism. Kinda torn. I have astigmatism so red dots suck for me
Having Astigmatism, most Red Dots appear as a Comet or Super Nova. I’ve been intrigued with the Etched Reticle variants. Well done. Great vid. Oh, what Mount footprint does this have, T2 or propritary?
Astigmatism as well, this is as close to 1x as you can get and the reticle size is perfect in such a small lightweight package. I highly recommend - it comes in Red/Green reticle and the 1x Gemini version is for AR9mm

@@minajamesrevenge9831 I've got the 503c green version with solar and the dual reticles, but I'm really diggin' the etched acss with holds. Plus it'd look dope on my pws mk111 mod 2

Like these very much. Can't wait for the 3x!
I’m waiting for someone to make one of those sweet montages of clips of all the times jake has said “slam dunk” 🤣🤣🤣🤣 love ya bud.
Works with magnifier as well.
I just received it, I don’t know if I got a bad one but my Chevron is so small it’s basically a red dot
I have one, it’s outstanding
Hey, I got that for my AK two months ago. Very nice. I hope you like it. Prepare for an angry internet rant if you don't.
Lol no lie
Maybe i'll get one for my AK105.
Congrats on 60k
🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀
Thank you!
@@1911syndicate no shit boys congratulations!!!
Video starts at 2:50. You’re welcome
Any plans to do a 3x Micro Prism review?
Now go get a md-25 acss....hands down my favorite optic 💪🏾
Good video, what magnifier are you running.
18:50...You said it's Tuesday...In the Philippines it's Wednesday,Since I'm ahead one day....You are correct .😁😁🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
2 more Pro's.....SHAKE AWAKE and LIFETIME WARRANTY !!!
I’m not super knowledgeable on micro prism. But with the 1x would you be able to cowitness iron sights through the glass?
The astigmatism savior! Sharp precise red dotish reticle for bad eyes
Is there enough eye relief to run a magnifier?
Definitely
I jave mine mounted at the front of the receiver. Plenty of eye relief.
It’s Tuesday where I’m at 🤙
Great explanation!
Wow Finn’s input was brilliant, I honestly hadn’t even considered that point myself.
Honestly none of us had
Any chance one of you (or anyone) deal with astigmatism? My Romeo5 on my 10" is a starburst, and my 510c on my 12.5" is moving drastically less starbursty. How did the "crispiness" look on the prism?
I do. And the reticle is very crisp
Does PA make a flip over magnifier for the prism optics? I am trying to avoid going LPVO. But it seems like if you install a 3x magnifier you loose decent eye relief and speed from the prism. Kinda torn. I have astigmatism so red dots suck for me
Thoughts on SwampFox optics?
Having Astigmatism, most Red Dots appear as a Comet or Super Nova.
I’ve been intrigued with the Etched Reticle variants.
Well done. Great vid.
Oh, what Mount footprint does this have, T2 or propritary?
Mini ACOG actually😬
Astigmatism as well, this is as close to 1x as you can get and the reticle size is perfect in such a small lightweight package. I highly recommend - it comes in Red/Green reticle and the 1x Gemini version is for AR9mm
Mine has a strange magnification, kinda like it makes objects slightly smaller/further away....not sure if this is normal?
They went to the same Taylor, hair and beard stylist and tattoo artist.
What kind of AR are they running in this video? I like that receiver set
Battle arms
I've got mine on an a2 carry handle.
The big question besides what color, is, what magnification...1x or 3x??
1
Whats the best zero for 7inch barrel
Spoiler alert, it's sweet on their carry handle mount.
A good Thursday video.
"First Imma get that gun, then imma get that money.
I need my money Jake.
Lemme git Dat money Jake!
Best scene ever. If you don't know it and don't appreciate that quote, please educate yourself. (And it's funny bc his name is Jake).
It's the 'uh-huh' while learning the reticle and sitting indian style for me 😂
1/3 cowitnessed. 1.51
Absolute......1.43
Just saying...😉
