We’ve all heard how Freddie improvised an intro for this song; more like a prelude before going into the actual intro.
Sometimes it went very nice, sometimes different and unique. But here, on this particular concert, wow. Freddie was on fire!, so inspired, so musical, so melodic. He always was, but very much so particularly this evening for this little prelude.
And when I saw this for the 1st time and saw how Freddie punched the keys of that piano and then, sat on them several times! 🤣, I remember laughing out loud til I got teared-eye. God bless you, Freddie. You made us all happy, just like you always wanted. We still love you.
I agree, this particular improv of this specific day is incredible. Makes you wish it was on the studio version... it's so musically amazing, the mood, the chords, the singing. Completely unmatched. Fantastic.
The intro on the first day of Rock In Rio is also incredible.

I had the opportunity to see them live three times. I loved them my whole life. But man, what would I give to go back to 1979, when I saw them the first time with my knowing of today, to fully appreciate what legends they were and are...all four of them.

MK was the first time I saw Queen, and in my opinion the best. They were absolutely on fire that night and Freddie's voice was at its best.

I was there watching Queen at mk bowl .it was amazing I was right at the front and I actually caught the plastic pint cup Freddie mercury threw into the crowd and I appeared on the DVD it was fantastic. I saw Queen 3times and I miss watching them live.

IMH 70ish y.o. opinion, the BEST ‘live’ performances I’VE gone to were Elton John’s ‘Farewell’ concert tours (2 X’s within several months of each other) from the many I’ve been to so far! The best band of all time. But more than that Freddie is/was the best Frontman and the best voice to ever sing a note. There will never be another like Freddie! I'm just glad I was alive to hear such an amazing gift that we were blessed to be able to witness. The one regret I have in this life, I never got to see Queen live in person. I graduated high school in 1987 here in the US. I live in Louisville Kentucky and never even saw anything saying they would be close enough to drive and see them. We lost Freddie in 1991, but we still have these videos to take us back. Thank you Queen for saving these amazing performances for all time. Sending love to everybody. 😊😊

Hum 🤔 - Being 70ish now I sorta ‘grew up’ with Queen’s music, but didn’t really listen to it much back then. Today I saw this video, and it was also the 1st time hearing THIS song. I thought it was 👍 and have realized lately that my taste in music has changed a LOT as I’ve become older. Maybe in part it’s due to being able to retire at a very early age, therefore having much more time to spend searching for and listening to ‘new’ music (on YT or elsewhere, that didn’t exist back then). Though I wouldn’t consider Queen or this song, a ‘favorite’ of mine, it’s still ok 👌🏽 imo. I really miss 😢 those good ‘ole days in general - when almost everything in life was better than the current state of the world 🌎 today - for me they were great times!
