This is one of my favorite songs by this legendary group, and almost 50 years later, It still holds up.
The church like chorus along Freddie's vocals and Brian's guitar solo, is incredible.
I can just imagine if Freddie was still with us, He would be in tears with the legion of fans new and old listening to this song in 2024.

Brian May is an underrated guitarist. His signature solos in so many Queen songs make them so much better.
Also Rodger Taylor on the drums. He really knows how to support the rhythm so well. There's lots of nuance to how he plays, and it just brings a lot of energy to the music

Saw them in 1979 @ Ludwigsparkstadion in Saarbruken, Germany for 'Open Air '79'....best damn concert I ever saw...with Rory Gallagher, Alvin Lee & Ten Years After, Molly Hatchet, and a couple of warm-up bands....and believe it or not, 'The Commodores' were special guests and put on a great performance.
My aunt was in the live aid concert and she said it was the best thing that she’s done in her life.

Lucky to see Queen at a small venue in Brighton England 1980. They were absolutely sensational. The best live band l saw. Live musical ability, stage craft, showmanship. Incredible 2hrs of live music I'll never forget.

What is it about Queen's music that has such a fucking truth to it. It's such a simple lyric; *Each morning I get up, I die a little. I can barely stand on my feet. John didn't actually sing in this part of the song but he did on stage but the crew knew to keep the fader/volume low because John isn't knowing for his amazing singing voice. No offense Deaky

I want to tell everyone what I have learned from this song. I believe he is talking about learning to love himself. He looks in the mirror and cries. Not of depression of pure bliss. He loves himself. Only when you love yourself can you love others. He talks about doing everything for others all his life and never loving himself. He explains the common experience of being a young person looking for love and never truly finding it. People put him down because he was full of hatred of himself and therefore others, his mind was playing tricks on him, likely from trauma growing up as a disgrace for being gay and other reasons we might not know about. We all know how the media makes you think you are ugly.
He finally learned, he’s beautiful and loves himself. Now that he did that he wants us to love ourselves! NOW LOOK IN THE MIRROR!
