Thank-you Peter for helping me out with this remarkable bit of kit during the Dunwich Dynamo last Saturday (or it might have been Sunday by then). After thrashing away for ten minutes in pitch darkness with a mini-pump, you plugged this gadget in and it inflated from the measly 10psi I had achieved up to 95psi within a minute. I was concerned that I was taking battery life away from you reinflating after fixing your own puncture, but your testing in this video shows that there would still have been life left in the battery. Absolutely brilliant pump, and great to meet you albeit in adverse circumstances!

You’re more than welcome, Steve and I must apologise in advance as it seems I inadvertently called you John on my video after meeting you! 🤦🏻‍♂️. In my defence, I hadn’t slept for over 24 hours by the point! 😂
I’m glad I was able to get you back on your way though and trust you made it to the beach safely. 💪🏻

Cheers Peter, fantastic review and I particularly like the fact that it has a built-in pressure gauge / automatic stop feature. Following years of using CO2 on my mountain bike with Schrader valves, I bought a Topeak CO2 pump for my road bike with Prestas. Yes it inflates the 25mm tyre really fast, is a well-made device and works well, but there's no getting round the physics of Boyle's law and the inevitable freezing. Because of that, if I didn't wait for the valve / pump to warm up, it would often remove the valve core when unscrewing the pump. Either way, this completely negated the key benefit of CO2 - time saving, so I went old-school and bought a mini-pump. I'll probably continue with that until it dies for the time being, but will definitely consider the Cycplus the next time I'm mulling ideas for a birthday present.
By the way, that old railway line path looks amazing. I might have to consider moving to France too!

Cheers Lincoln, so glad you found it useful. Completely agree with your assessment of CO2 though. In theory, it's a great invention but I would more often than not shy away from using it, for fear of either freezing my hand or having an issue with the valve getting too cold! This is definitely the way to go as and when you're looking to upgrade your mini pump then.
And yes, the Avenue Verte is just incredible. TBF, most of Northern France was a joy to cycle around but to have a dedicated, car free lane that just winds it's way through the countryside... C'est magnifique! I can't recommend it highly enough.

Been umming and ah'ing for a while now. Bought one! Cheaper through their website rather than Amazon, especially with the code.

Nice one, Chris. I really don't think you'll regret it! I was surprised too at the direct price opposed to Amazon. Weird!

Thank you…can you use this pump on Schwalbe tyres? Cheers

Absolutely. It can be used on anything with a Presta or Schrader valve. 👌🏻

If you're touring, you could recharge it via a power bank as well.

Great point, Anthony. Completely forgot about that. 👌🏻

My tires are 700x55 but I run them around 50-55 pounds so this might be the ticket for me. I run TPU so if I need to use my CO2 I try to be super careful and fill the tube nice and slow.

I knew that CO2 got cold during inflation, but had no idea it could affect sealant or TPU tubes so much until I started doing some research for this review. As I said in the video, I like CO2 but this little thing is a game changer and would be perfect for 55mm tyres running low pressures! 👌🏻

Would you still take a mini pump with you tho ?

I probably had this about 2 months now, Joff and I haven't taken a mini pump with me since getting it. If I was going on a long distance ride I'd consider having a mini pump (just for emergencies) or a external battery pack to recharge it, but for day to day rides, I just take this now. 👌
