@@christianhackl474 This isn't an exact replica of the stage, but of all their music, this is closest to the stage. If you really like this then I'd recommend giving the stage album a go front to back, there's bound to be a few songs in their that you like
It took me a couple listens, but I’m obsessed with it now. I’m a huge prog fan and was a huge fan of The Stage, it being one of my favorite Avenged albums. I know they’ve grown older, I’ve put away their past. I still love the old albums to death, but I’m growing with them and it’s been a hell of journey. They just aren’t the angsty 20something year olds they used to be. And to me, I’m fine with that.

Nice reaction. It gets so much better after a few listens. I love that every a7x album has a different sound, and while I enjoy that older ‘pop metal’ sound, I feel we won’t be getting that again ever. This band, as they get older, is too talented and too ambitious to keep making the style of music. Based off this song, I am expecting this album to be a concept album of progressive, experimental, thought provoking music. I’m here for it tho!
Ive listened to it 10 times now and its just as dull to me now as it was the first listen. It just seems boring and mundane to me. Nothing makes it pop out. Idk thats just me though.
@@vantuss__ for me the groove and melody get better, and it all comes together more. Not crazy about the abrupt transition into the strings. Also not saying it’s a banger, just that I enjoy it a lot more than the very first time I heard it. Hoping within the context of the album it will hit harder.

i am happy that pop metal is no longer, i fell in love with this band, i think is one of the best in their genres not just above average, but after listening to other bands less commercial as tool, now old avenged avenged sevenfold choruses and riffs feel too sweet for my taste, so this more heavy hard rock with progressive metal is great to hear and evolve

Imo it's damaging to the experience and art when you attach a sound to a band, especially a band like A7X bc they are always changing.. from their look to their sound.. also just imo the guys have gotten better thruout their hellatus 🥲🤘🏼💀🦇🔥

@@rustysemmler6147 Honestly, this song feels in keeping with them anyways. Past Waking the Fallen, and even somewhat in that album, they've leaned more and more into the proggy side of things (Hail to the King aside). This just feels like an evolution of The Stage and I'm all here for it.

It's such an amazing feeling to finally hear something new after 7 years of nothing from them they are and always will be my favorite band, i watched the countdown since yesterday and the closer to the end it got the more excited i got and it honestly didn't disappoint me at all it was worth the wait. can't wait for the full release of the album.
I was watching the countdown and looked in Apple Music about 30 minutes before it ended. They had put the video up already 😂🤦♂️ I thought about waiting for the countdown to end but couldn’t resist
It's amazing how Avenged Sevenfold have matured as a band. This type of music feels like natural progression from what The Stage was. They are just making the music that they enjoy making, without actively trying to appeal to the mass public. I'm really looking forward to the new album, pretty sure that it's going to be amazing, they really took their time with it.

I wasn't too fond of the song after my first listen, but after 3 or 4 listens it really hooked on me and now I seriously enjoy this song. It sounds like the stage part 2, which im in love with the idea personally
Avenged has been my favourite band for 20 years I was about 6 or 7 and the fact they change styles is what I've always loved , and this new space prog electronic metal vibe is so awesome to hear after so many years waiting bring on June this album will break boundaries
See, the thing is with Avenged Sevenfold is they constantly evolve. Songs dont need to be fast or have breakdowns etc for them to be good. Avenged make pure art. The song its self is very well written, musically its incredible. The intricacy is amazing and thats probably the best solo Syn has given us. It took me more than 1 listen for it to register, but its an incredible work of art. Cant wait to hear the rest.
I feel like the minority that LOVED The Stage and the more Progressive and avant garde sound. So this was something that I was pleasantly surprised to hear. As far as guitar playing this is pretty much the peak so far from Syn fo technical ability. That solo starting with just a dissonant noise and going forward into a prog shred fest just pleases the soul

I think A7X just created their own category by combining all of these influences together to get to this point. I got a lot of Pink Floyd vibes, I got hip hop vibes. I'm not sure what metal influences would go in here but the maturity they've gone through as musicians is unparalleled in the industry.

Nobody = track 3. Could very easily be a comedown chiller moment from the opening 2 tracks. Super excited to see how this fits in with the entire album and the experience of listening to it. It's so freaking creative yet still A7X.
I agree. This wasn't meant to be the "poppy single" that everyone expects when a single is typically released. I think you're right though, this isn't a track 1 or even an ending track.

This is super atmospheric and avant-garde, bordering on post-metal imo. It’s pretty odd sounding but I gotta say I love the dark atmosphere

Avenged Sevenfold has never been afraid to experiment with their sound. I'm excited to hear the new album and what they bring, even if it means I have to listen a to a few songs multiple times before I like them

A7X are a prog metal band now man and I think they are doing it on purpose. With Rev they had their original sound that you seemed to love so much, but with Brooks they are something entirely different and it's glorious too. I personally love them both, but Brooks A7X is so much more complex and amazing then the OG.

They had music come out within 7 years. The deluxe stage album came out 6 years ago for example.

You cant just pick out a song in this album, you listen to the whole album and its more of a journey not a song. They just keep building on what music is and if you listen to some of the podcasts with them when this album dropped, youll get a bigger picture of where they are in the thought process.

Totally agree with you man. Unfortunatly i think M. Shadows voice isn´t the same anymore so they had to adapt. Though i found some interesting and creative vocal melodies, Matt´s voice seemed a bit fragile. Liked the instrumental part. I will give some time for this music to grow in me.

The worst thing right is that I’ve read comments talking about m shadows vocals have declined NOBODY understands that the guy has had TWO extreme vocal surgeries and every album has gave us his absolute hardest, the song is absolutely amazing on many many many levels the album will be great fyi nightmare was 12 years ago people he couldn’t sing like that even if he didn’t have surgery PEOPLE GROW OLD you guys expect far far too much

It was kinda Pink Floydish to me very psychedelic rock. You almost have to watch the video to get the song....
Bands grow and change over time so it does not pay to get too attached to one particular sound only because that kind of thing stifles an artist musically when being a musician you explore a lot of things musically and it gets boring to be expected to be a one trick pony and for every song to sound the same .
Sadly it’s more of the stage. Matts voice is gone he can never make an album like nightmare and it’s predecessors

I feel like the song is actually too short. I just feel like it needed something more. Something extra. I wish after the solo it fully picked up the pace and exploded with energy at the end. It would've made it perfect ending to the song and instead it just kinda went nowhere. And his vocals are kinda weird. Like he sounds drunk and I have a hard time taking it seriously whenever he sings in this sadly. However the music video is really well made and creative. And as for the music itself I really liked the overall vibe and Syn's solo is fuckin awesome as always. I hope the song will grow on me more in the future.
Look man, first of all I think Matt's vocals is great here. He's underwent 2 major vocal surgeries over the past few years and also he's getting older so it's just too much to expect City of evil vocals at this point. I mean his talking voice has also changed a lot. The song is definitely a grower, you just need to give it a few more listens.
