  • Today we are fixing a problematic koi pond that the homeowner was having issues with for 16 years! They had rebuilt it multiple times and were on the brink of giving it up when they called us and we were able to come in and rebuild their koi pond in Bedford PA. Unfortunately, this story is all too common out there in the water feature world. It is our responsibility to educate the water feature hobbyists on what to do and not to do. They don't even have to hire us, but for your own sake, please do your research and have them built properly 😎😁✌

      You bet man. It's not always easy but whenever opportunity allows I try my best to kind of show a behind the scenes and tell people's stories. Works best when it comes about naturally and not forced, but also means its kind of rare.

    Great job guys, for such a small pond and stream it had a lot of character 1 question though, in the final shots it looks like the moss has died, will it come good again and its just dying of from transplanting or did it just die?

    • @Tusseylandscaping
      @Tusseylandscaping  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah sometimes some moss dies, but usually a lot of it grows and takes off

    • @Tusseylandscaping
      @Tusseylandscaping  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      An ion gen system along with a dosing system would be what I'd do. Same setup that was breifly shown in this video

      @shaymoose17 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Tusseylandscaping Would adding something like a spillway bowl filled with aquatics help the water quality vs a going the chemical route?

    • @Tusseylandscaping
      @Tusseylandscaping  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes that would certainly be a good move, to provide more area for biological filtration. You can also do that bowl with bio balls (in bags) and then sprinkle a little river gravel on top, then plant your aquatics in that gravel.
      I would still do the ion gen and doser. They are not chemicals, it's all natural bacteria based

    Do you guys use anything to secure the rocks on the sides together? Our pond is about 15years old and things have been moving and shifting...rocks are starting to fall down. Was wondering if you could add some kind of adhesive or non toxic cement to keep the wall in place.

    • @Tusseylandscaping
      @Tusseylandscaping  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately no that won't help. They need to be built so they are solid, and a glue will not solve your problem. If it is collapsing, the only thing to do is rebuild it correctly
