Harm reduction and sanctuary is SO important at music festivals. My first ever MDMA experience was at Coachella 2019, i was alone and i was seven hours away from home. The come up for me was awful and loaded with anxiety (definitely due to the fact that i was so far away from home) i kept thinking that people were going to kidnap me. I went to the medic tent where i was told about the EveryOne tent. Alone and afraid i managed to walk across the festival to a sanctuary where i was met with so much kindness and acceptance. I was surrounded by people who were going through the same thing, many of whom were sober and were just having anxiety attack’s. I was able to talk to a therapist who proceeded to tell me that I was very brave for coming to the festival alone, she completely restored my self esteem and brought me back to life. At one point i told her, I think I’m ready, she said “i think you are too”, at that point i left the tent and danced my ass off at the Kaytranada set.
I wish I would’ve known about this tent at Coachella. I was having a bad trip and went to the medic tent to relax and the guy who i talked to was so rude to me. I ran out.
@@indiehippie omg love I'm so sorry this happened to you :/ honestly, the girl at the medic tent made it worse for me, she kept telling me things like "its all in your head" and while that was true, it DEFINITELY did not help. @@JoJo-fw9vh Hello:) Inside this tent, there were licensed therapists that helped me through my experience. I really was only there for an hour, I laid down on the couch and managed to bring myself down (they had weighted blankets that were really nice). I remember telling the therapist that I was at Coachella by myself and she told me that instead of feeling guilt/shame, I should be proud for having gone by myself. She helped me turn my negative thought loop into a positive one, she was warm and accepting and everything a therapist SHOULD be. She held space for me and allowed me to talk openly about what I was experiencing.

I don't know what it was but I don't think it was DMT... It was burning like hell and I lost conscience. I thought I was being smart by testing a very small amount first but even then I could've died. If you're not 100% sure that what you got is the real deal, you better use a test kit, it's not worth dying for saving a few bucks on a test kit...
My first hippy festival about 18 years ago there was a guy wrapped up in a sleeping bag taped to an electricity pole right at the front gate. They said he was on acid and freaking out so that was safe for him. All these years later I still think about him sometimes.
The no alcohol at the festival seems like a good decision. When I had my first psychotic episode I was at a festival. I was drunk out of my mind but still thought that it would be a good idea to mix it with ecstasy, and not just one pill. If i recall correctly I took 4 pills of unknown purity all within 2 or so hours. I noticed whilst watching a set that I could hear people whispering my name around me, this made me decide to go back to camp, but at this point my legs were barely functioning but I somehow managed to make it back. I went to my tent and I can remember seeing the shadows on the tent roof forming into faces, all this would be scary, but I was way too high on the mdma to feel any bad feelings. Long story cut short it ended with me being taken in by the police and being admitted to hospital two days later. Don't mix drugs, for your own safety
I work in an ER on the weekends I see alcohol tearing people apart every day! I've seen about 3 patient's in my whole career who came to the ER for psychedelic related issues (minor non life threatening issues BTW) Not major throwing up blood turning yellow and dying issues like I see with alcohol. I think our drug laws must have come from the upside down in Stranger Things!
it's a lot easier to herd sheep when their minds are turned off. once enough people begin realizing, system's roots will be pulled, pyramid will tumble from the bottom brick. remember that.
this is so beautiful and so amazing that people have made groups and safety awareness. (especially) at music festivals or big events that most likely will have a drug atmosphere
I don’t even do any drugs, but I love learning all this stuff. Can’t imagine how much safer of a world we would have if we structured our society like this festival

That thing about not being able to consent under the influence is kinda dumb tbh. If you are gonna get drugged you should as a responsible adult person always be in a safe environment. If you say yes while you are on a drug you WILLINGLY took then thats on you. It's not like people can look into the future and be like "oh wait that girl is gonna wake up tomorrow and regret it". And even if, just because you regret something doesn't mean you didn't consent to it at the given moment.
@@REALdavidmiscarriage i think she meant that if you are sober, don't try and come on to somebody who is clearly not sober. just generally good advice since it creates an odd power dynamic and they may not have consented had they been sober. plus some creeps will go for people who are clearly fucked up since they might be "easier". if you're both tripping it's not anyone's fault if either of you regrets it though

As someone who went to Shambhs. You will never in your whole life experience the love and happiness that is shared and felt at this festival. The owners literally designed the forests for psychedelics. Shambhs originally started with 100 people and blew up into this incredible psychedelic version of project X. You have almost tribes when you’re there which are your totoms and groups. If you’re tripping, people will make sure you’re good and happy. The artists love to dance with the people at the festival and not a single person was snooty, rude, upset, I did not even see a single person cry aside from happiness from all the insane stuff going on. We went in a group of 15 people and every single one of us had the time of our lives and we were there for a week. The lasers alone are upwards of 100,000.00 each with performers like BTSM. Gotta love being Canadian, eh? Oh also the security guards literally support you to do psychedelics in a safe manner! The whole place is literally built for it. Something cool too, Harvard is supporting treatment using psychedelics, specifically mdma, psilocybin (shrooms), and ketamine. Treatments are meant to be administered by psychologists for treatment of anxiety, depression and overall quality of life. The conference is scheduled for 2020 through Harvard alumni.
I love mushrooms but I dont think I could do them at a festival with thousands of people dressed like freaks. Would mess with me too much. I'm more of a go for a hike on mushrooms kinda guy.
Ricky Taylor You joke as if Cannabis isn't a deadly killer. If it's so safe why do all the people who smoke it die before 150 years! Clearly weed kills EVERYONE who smokes it in about 100 years. Or less!!! :) Alcohol and sarcasm are more dangerous than psychedelics!
@Ricky Taylor OH yes!!! 100% agree with your comment! Just trying to make it obvious how NOT dangerous these things are. Alcohol is BY FAR the most dangerous drug! It's the only one that's legal! We have a really F***ed up attitude to "drugs" that isn't helping anyone! I hope this changes in my lifetime. It's not so much a war on drugs as it is a war on free thinking and personal sovereignty.
All this did was make me want to go to this festival. What an amazing experience they've created. I'd love to see what the bigger festivals are doing about these issues
@@toufikelhossami8151 It is absolutely possible to "bad trip" on MDMA. If you're in a bad mood before, the environment is overwhelming or you're generally an anxious person it can happen that you feel really bad. I had this several times (tested MDMA, btw) I didn't wanted to talk or being touched, I was really pissed about everything that happened around me and had a negative thought spiral and was anxious as fuck. That happened also to some friends. MDMA enhances what is already there. If you're in a bad mental state when you take it, it really can become a bad experience. Also it can happen that you're hallucinating if you took high doses or mix it with weed. This, can also get really scary if you're not expecting this to happen.
I did mushrooms for the first time at a local music festival, and what made it awesome is the feeling of safety there. I was with some friends, the festival was not really big and basically everyone was high so i didn't feel judged. also almost everyone knew how people on psychedelics feel so people in my camp were helpful with my requests and i also saw them help out a girl who had a bad trip just some hours before. I honestly cannot imagine a better way to eat shrooms than there now - great pace, good people, good vibes and everybody being prepared in case something goes wrong
This and last year we had 5 going full-time! This year also GC-MS for confirmation- this enabled us to capture 4-MEO-DIPT's spectrum into our database/library for the first time ever!
I LOVE THIS! I just recently came back to the festival scene after many years away. I noticed a huge change in the overall vibe. After a few shows i realized that the people drinking were the ones not expressing PLUR or being rude pushing through the crowd. We didnt drink back in the day cause it ruined the other substances. How did the culture sway to alcohol so much? Drunk people and trippy people just chill on a different wave length. Awesome content.
i’d argue meth is worse than alcohol in terms of addictiveness and danger, but alcohol takes it if we’re talking about those things plus legality. It’s much easier to get alcohol than meth
Alcohol is the only drug I've ever done that makes a person mentally retarded. It's terrible stuff, and makes you feel like shit in so many ways afterwards.
@@knotsoangelic it's time to legalise meth and see who wins 😂 Of course meth is worse , but alcohol is legal worldwide and kills millions of people every year Drink it every day and see what happens
I think it has more to do with it being so frequently underestimated, i.e. naive people taking high doses and having bad trips. The drug itself being common would of course also be a factor.
It is a assault on the senses if you dont know/haven't done heroic doses. Its like a valve getting opened in your brain and everything is trying to rush out.
Have to love Shambhala for being an amazing example of how to take care of each other at music festivals. A lot of the staff are volunteers that just want to make a safe judgement-free alternative to the way we socialise and enjoy music festivals and I think that is beautiful.

Music festivals and drugs in general are saturated with demons and open people up to the demonic realms. It's poison for the soul while in the body it feels good. The music industry and entire entertainment industry is wicked. The ears and eyes are gateways to the soul and demons know this. Your eternal soul is real and so is Jesus Christ. This is a disguised war for the soul. Heaven and hell are real and sin binds souls to the demonic realm, unless people repent and change their ways. Jesus Christ is the ONLY one to set people free. He is the Almighty God, maker of your soul, not a man that started a religion. Modern music is disguised spell casting, same thing with movies, shows, video games, they plant seeds in the subconscious and are being fueled by spirits working with those in the industry in covenants. Pray and repent to Jesus Christ while there's still time, your eternal soul is being led astray with entertainment owned by evil. Even the musicians on a high level know this. God bless.
TheMc1436 I live in the area that Shambs happens. The amount of coke, crack, whatever that goes on in this town is crazy. It’s a small tiny retirement town that you would never expect to have a huuuuge drug problem
He said 100% ‘cocaine match’, whatever that means. It’s impossible to test the purity of cocaine percentage-wise at places like that. Besides, cocaine from Colombia when it’s made in the jungle is only ever 97% pure, so he definitely doesn’t mean it’s 100% pure. Those testing places can only tell you what’s in the chemical you hand over, not the amount.
Cocaine can be purified at home with a simple procedure. Look it up. Crazy stuff. I imagine that's what this poor fella did before he was robbed of his sweet, sweet pure cocaine.
It’s nice for the come up I think as long as you don’t overdo it. But the major downside is that alcohol makes you prone to dehydration and psychedelics can dehydrate the fuck out of you

People forget that GHB was a rave drug before it became known as a date rape drug. I’ve been encountering a lot more multi-age festivals; meaning it used to be that you aged out of the rave and festival scene past a certain point. It felt uncomfortable being older surrounded by people who seem to just barely have fallen out of high school. But this past year I have seen more and more people of my age of 35 or older come back into the festival scene, and it is largely because it makes no sense for people to “age out” of someplace that they consider to be their home. There is no retirement home in the EDM and psychedelic community, and so why should people feel shamed into disappearing from the one place where they found acceptance. Anyway, I say all that to say this; as the older family returns to the festivals and raves, we see a return of the drugs of their generation come with them. GHB, crystal meth too was a rave drug before it became a ravager of rural America (but like the old hippies always say, that ain’t the stuff that was going around when I was coming up) , and PCP too is making a come back. People should be less alarmed by the emergence or rather resurgence of these drugs in t rave scene, and more so understanding of it as a multi generational influx back into the community. Drugs won’t hurt you if you don’t take them, and if you arm yourself with as much knowledge as possible, navigating them in your space will be that much easier. Loving you family.
As someone who is still in the scene and coming up to 40 I can 💯 agree with you. I left the scene for quite a while. Meth was coming up when I left. GHB was pretty huge and I've had my fair share of PCP during those times. I come with a ton of experience in the scene. My friends range in ages from 20 to 45 and we are a family of 9 years going strong in the scene. You are right why ages out it doesn't make sense. It's the only true home we've all known. I've seriously evolved into such a wise person because of all the openness and rawness I get to witness in the absolute beauty that is human. In complete strangers I've found life lessons that have completely changed my life for the better. There is no other place on Earth unlike the scene. It will always be home
Can we please not bring back PCP as we return to these scenes. We didnt know it was neurotoxic back then. Ketamine has replaced PCP as a much safer alternative and that's the way it should stay for a long term healthy community
I love the safe space trend. In Mexico we get chill zones and its these separate tents away from the music where you can lay down and talk with people, and also theres decoration hanging from the ceiling and a veil keeping mosquitoes away, so its great.
Hey man, I usually love your videos but it really pissed me off when you rolled your eyes when she was talking to you about the sober area. I understand that your world includes substances to enhance the experience but I think it's also important to understand and respect those who choose to enhance their lives through sobriety.

As an Australian whose pretty into the music and festival scene (havent attended multi-day festival yet, got one coming up soon), it’s such a SHOCK to see how much better they handle festivals in Canada/America. Here we’re currently having a MASSIVE inquest into deaths at music festivals, since Australia has such a high quantity of them. Legit in some cases, festivals have a total of TWO general practitioners, not even trained to properly insert the equipment to insufflate down someone’s throat (I don’t know the details, not a doctor, but it’s necessary for keeping people breathing LIKE THE DUDE IN THE VIDEO SAID). I couldn’t imagine having three response teams and over 130 medical staff on board!! And drug testing? Forget that!! Professional medical staff who actually attend festivals offered to give the state premier of NSW a demonstration on how drug testing would work at festivals, as our government is totally against the idea, and they denied even being shown an example. Australians are the biggest consumers of MDMA in the world, however, we don’t consume raw MDMA crystal nor get pill presses like you would in the UK/Netherlands/America, 99% of MDMA in Australia comes in ‘caps’, small, clear capsules filled with whatever. You can buy the capsules at smoke shops or in bulk online, and fill them up with whatever. People make a massive deal about you “not getting MDMA”, and I mean, most of the time it has SOME mdma/mda in it, but in recent years there’s been copious amounts of RCs, derivatives and other random substances in there: if you’re lucky it’s only meth, M-CAT, DXM or 2-CB, but the prevalence of cheap RCs with similar affects really ups the ante. People are going to take them regardless of what the government says - might as well let them test that shit, then the deaths wouldn’t be on the governments hands. This video makes me so jealous!!
Australia has lots of mdma. Get a test kit and keep shopping if you are getting sold something that’s not mdma find out and let them know and stop buying it. Press pills did start to decline about 10 years ago but are still quite common in certain states and making a small comeback overall. Mdma in a capsule or a bag has no difference. The quality isn’t worse because of what it is stored in. Caps are just separated into doses. Lots of dealers still sell mdma without caps and just bags. Also, you need to get to a few more festivals around Australia. While we might not be as open as this there are some that come pretty close.
Thanks for the video adam. I'm doing an honours project on drug-related deaths at festivals and concerts in Australia and this video was very interesting to see how other festivals do what they can to try and maximise harm reduction. Hopefully, with my project, I can help push for some of the harm reduction strategies which a festival like Shambhala has to down here in Australia :)

@@crepezzzzz it‘s still not my problem, I mean I don‘t go for drunk girls when I’m sober because there won‘t be any chemistry probably because we are basically at two different IQ levels and it‘s kinda unattractive when somebody is that messed up.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think MDMA induces anxiety attacks. I’ve never heard of someone bad-tripping on MDMA.

I honestly cannot imagine a better way to eat shrooms than there now - great pace, good people, good vibes and everybody being prepared in case something goes wrong

That and high doses can be overwhelming as fuck
I think it has more to do with it being so frequently underestimated, i.e. naive people taking high doses and having bad trips. The drug itself being common would of course also be a factor.
It is a assault on the senses if you dont know/haven't done heroic doses. Its like a valve getting opened in your brain and everything is trying to rush out.

God bless.

Gotta learn how to control the microphone with guests Adam. Dont move it away from people as theyre talking.
Before an interview, establish a silent code for when theyre done talking a point. A small nod etc
Meanwhile the lowend is blaring.
Also hold the microphone at the base so it can reach their faces and pick up the sound better
Yes, Sensei
Yea I mentioned it in another comment. He should also use a low cut on those recordings.
👏yes
Just came from Rainbow Family Gathering. We need this kind of thing in the family!
WE NEED THAT SECURITY GUY AT EVERY FESTIVAL
This is a lesson in empathy, much respect!
Absolutely love this video! I have Shambhala on my radio now, really sad it's not happening 2021 but it further proves they just care about safety.

Area 51 is a psychedelic manufacturing facility!
Albi Manikas it hasn’t been that in decades.
They moved all that shit to a location that is still a secret.
that makes sense
Albi Manikas u have no idea what you’re talking about

Na alien tech thats attempting to be reverse engineered.
To many area 51 employees have said this. Some have disappeared. Some have died in random ods and car crashes a short time after.
The ones how've come so public they couldnt be killed literally have had their birth certificate deleted from every data base along with their education history.
Joe rogan hosted one who lived to tell the truth. Check it out.
@@aggressivereindeer3200 how many of them can actually prove they were area 51 employees? people can say they've worked there all they want, but I have never seen proof that they worked at area 51
I love this. I’ve never been to a festival like this but if I would ever go I am so happy and feel comfortable that there are so many safety measures in place. THANK YOU
