- The plan for this day was two capture the Earl twice on the journey to Hereford & Cardiff and twice on the return. In between the outward and the return we would capture three steam locomotives and a diesel on the Severn Valley Railway.
I am pleased to say we achieved the plan and a bonus was the fine weather.
On the downside was the amount of diesel assistance that you will see on the video. The train was on time at all of the location where we captured it and there was no fire risks. At least you could hear the Earl working.
I hope you enjoy the sight and sounds of the mighty Earl.
Great video. I was on rhe train and to be fair there wasnt an awful lot of shovage except Llanvihangal on the return!
Great to see you again John yesterday morning! Superb collection of footage
Great shots
Great stuff John, you managed quite a lot of footage for this one! The shot at All Stretton is beautiful. Regards, Dan
Good record of the day John, fine filming and good locations. As you say, a fair bit of assistance but the Earl was still making a decent sound
Very great done video John, thumbs up :)
Fabulous.
Spot on John and nicely captured with some lovely light and glint at Albrighton, regards nige 👍
Great video as always John. Kind regards, Jake.
Nicely covered and well planned locations John. Presume Hamstead was beyond the station where Alistair opened her up lol. I bet if you were firing 5043 you'd be glad of a little shove..... Or, even a big one 🥵!! Regards, Brian.
I saw her at Cardiff central and Newport
