Did my first track day last weekend with a 8 hour lesson (combination of riding and theory) and it was the best experience on 2 wheels of my life. First time truly pushing my limits and it felt incredibly addicting.
Hi Yammie I know you'll laugh but I own a 1957 Ducati 125cc Marianna - I say this because it's a SINGLE CYLINDER 125cc Bevel Driven engine. So the Mono isn't the ONLY single cylinder from Ducati! LOVE your Channel! Thanks friend come up for a visit anytime.
You nailed it for who it’s for. I live close to the Dolomites and ride there a lot, also lots of other mountain passes in Austria and Italy. This bike is made for exactly that. If you ever ride our part of the world you will see endless KTM’s and Husqvarna’s tearing it up on the steep twisties. These bikes are everywhere whereas the older generation are riding GS’s and other adventure bikes. Ducati know their market here and where this bike is gonna excel. Fast, nimble, lightweight machines rule the alpine twisties!
something to note, this bike NEEDS the exhaust. stock it basically has no low end and struggles in the low rpms, with the exhaust it opens up the low end a ton and makes the bike 10x better
actually.. it's not the exhaust that does that open up the air box cover and put a free flowing filter and it's actually dynoing MORE with the standard exhaust than with aftermarket ones
That bike looks like a ton of fun! I dont ride long distances or commute to work. It would be amazing to go out and just ride around for an hour or two on the weekend with this bike and have a good time.
One of my favorites. The Termignoni really wakes it up and also adds "wheelie assist". So fun and so easy to ride. Its what I take for short trips over my Streetfighter V4.
Watching your enthusiasm on track got me so excited haha. Literally got butterflies from watching you ride XD. Can't wait till I get my motor license!!!
Got this as my 2nd bike because I wanted something that at more upright as opposed to my r6. I absolutely LOVE it, he’s not kidding when he says it’s a riot. Not a highway bike even though it can be done but you have to sit super far forward especially at 80+ to combat that floaty front tire feel. But again the fun this bike brings is unreal. I still love my r6 as it was my first bike and wouldn’t say I have a favorite between the two. They both are great at different things and to me make the perfect stable. If you have the money go get one of these!! Also if you buy the termignoni race exhaust from Ducati they unlock an additional wheelie assist feature that actually does hold you in wheelies.
I ride this bike so hard in LA california. I even do all the food delivery gigs on it with an OGIO tailbag. I've owned 7 motorcycles with over 50k miles each and also have a race fuel tuned R1M. I tell you this bike is a street slayer and perfect for people that still like to go fast. Perfect for daily. such a hooligan bike. I don't even notice the vibrations on it anymore. I can easily hit 100+mph and cruise on these bumpy hwys. I top out at 127mph for my weight at 155. Austin racing exhaust is the way to go on this bike. Make sure you get the race version with optional silencers as it will set off alarms more than a harley due to its low throaty beautiful tone. The 698 wants you to absolutely rev the hell out of it. Do recommend.
As an owner of this bike I don’t understand why Ducati marketed this bike the way they did. It’s either for someone who wants a supermoto, but doesn’t want to be limited by it being a supermoto. Tall gears, seemingly reliable, all safety features can be turned off, low maintenance intervals. I think of it more for people like me who have other Ducati’s, but want a little fun one also. I live near mountain roads where they are tighter and bumpy AF. This bike is king!
17:05 Probably because the quickshifters on these engines are merely an afterthought. When was the last time a brand-new single cylinder engine came out?
I love near Monaco where the roads are tight and my cooler Italian colleagues arrive at work on these kind of bikes whether the SMCR or hypermotard, probably having slightly more fun than us older Triumph riders.
I've wanted this bike ever since it came out but the price...So I converted my KTM 500EXCF into a supermoto. Still, I have to ride this thing. Great vid!
Still waiting for Woolich to provide support. Honestly I'd just convert a YZ450FX if I wanted a raucous manly supermoto. Pure unadulterated minimalist wild power.
I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the bell qualifier dlx helmet is a good purchase. If I crash will it protect my head good enough and is the ear protection good like will the wind damage my ears.
I’m so confused. Your whole theory about what is this bike for. Um what are sport bikes for. How are sport bikes on the road? LOL uncomfortable seat but way better seating position is way better for road riding compared to being hunched right over. This bike is amazing and if you own one then congrats cause it’s SUPER fun and id way rather ride my mortard than any sport bike and I’ve owned ALOT of sport bikes in the past
I have been riding sporbikes for ages. Just picked up my Husky DMR450. And it feels very strange. Like sitting on top of a bike about to fall over. Rather than like sitting in the middle of the bike such as my fzr
Ducati people aren’t the main ones buying this bike. It’s KTM people who are tired of cam issues. Literally Ducati couldn’t have lucked into a better time to unveil this.

With the greatest respect, if you don’t want to lose your license for speeding I imagine this bike is plenty good for any kind of road. To say it only makes sense in the dolomites is a bit weird.
If Moto 3 ever goes to a spec chasis/motor in the future, Ducati would be crazy not to jump on the opportunity with this motor in a GP spec chassis! I believe it would be horrible as an ADV/dualsport bike. Too much top end, not enough low down torque. Too nice to abuse in the dirt.

I've ridden this bike on track and it is super fun! @Mike_Jones68

This is the bike you will never buy but you wish you had one.

I'm buying one this spring
Why would you never buy one?
Because it's over priced for what it is. This should be a $7000 bike tops. 0@@brandon-kg2vd

Cool bike! Ducati made many single cylinder production bikes back in the day (60’s - 70’s)

"It functions mainly as a toy." Yes. Yes it does. Just like every motorcycle I've owned over the last 48 years.
Yessss. Finally. I’m planning on it to be my next bike, but the 950.
I have one, track/race only. Did 30 days on track with it last year. It's a lot of fun once you get the suspension set up and add Woodcraft rearsets.

Wheelie Control is one thing, but with the Termigioni exhaust you get to use a Wheelie Assis function, which does not work with the stock one.
Do most riders need this bike? Much like the Kawasaki ZX-4RR, the answer is no. But its still awesome that it was made regardless
17:05 Probably because the quickshifters on these engines are merely an afterthought. When was the last time a brand-new single cylinder engine came out?

Rim COLOR Combo is sick
That looks like a Plano water tower in the background. Shoutout to my hometown.
I've got the orange flavored one , stupid fun 😁
Definitely missing out if they don’t make a light adv version of this bike
This would be great if you lived near the Tail of the Dragon
I've noticed them in a fair few action movies so far really recognisable by the headlight and sound but paint them black
This draws so many parallels to the vitpilen 701
It’s brand new, how do we know that Ducati won’t use this on an enduro or a light adventure bike?
Nice bike that one like the supermoto’s but my brain isn’t prepared for that type of ride 😂.
Really popular bikes in Europe. The Husky 701 sm is really common in the Viking countries.
Are the Ducati Scrambler, de wr 250 and the daytona 675 the perfect 3 bike garage?
Great bike to own within warranty.
A Monster version with this engine would be an instant buy for me
Yammy what is your favorite bike to ride 200 miles
I live in a country where doing 88mph would put me in jail. However there are loads of tight twisty roads here. I want one !
They built this bike for me. I love it. It's a great urban weapon. Mystery solved.

That motor is going in a supermono ducati with 916 styling
Put that engine in a fully faired bike, price it reasonably and it’ll sell like hotcakes.
Usually, you start with a dirt bike and slap on street wheels to make a super moto. People are going to be doing the opposite with this thing! 😃
The point of this bike is to take husqvarna 701 customers, fantastic bike to ride. I’d love to take this Ducati for a spin
They need to put this engine in a panagale. It would sell.
so it sounds like we finally get to say that a Ducati is less finicky than a KTM? Cause it’s basically an Italian KTM.
Yes, it is basically half a 1299 Engine. But no, it is not 645cc. It is 659cc.
Slap some 50/50’s and some sprockets on it. Do 85+ on the freeway. Not comfortable but fun as F
Yeah but, is it a good beginner bike tho?
Would never own one because of the seat height lol 😢😂
Depending on the price, it may be an attempt to make an entry point in the brand. Time will tell.
I think it might be for people who will ride it like they stole it I want one
A motorcycle made for fun? How dare they. 😂
With the greatest respect, if you don’t want to lose your license for speeding I imagine this bike is plenty good for any kind of road. To say it only makes sense in the dolomites is a bit weird.
