  • Josh and Susan Powell’s first child, Charlie, was a bright and curious boy.
Even at the young age of five, Charlie had a fascination with the natural world. He collected bugs, memorized facts about reptiles and dinosaurs.
Shortly after his mother Susan’s disappearance, Josh Powell moved the boys back to be near his family near outskirts of Puyallup, Washington.
It was here that this bright curious boy started to raise the eyebrows of teachers and YMCA staff after they started to spot what they say were signs that Charlie Powell was haunted by the loss of his mother.
Especially after he told a pair of YMCA counselors about the best way to kill a bear and why it was it was important to kill Mormons.

Steve wrote in his journal the day after Susan disappeared that he thought Josh killed her. And if Josh could do that then he could kill himself & his boys. Steve called it from day 1 then refused to warn anyone. Cops slacked on this case. They had all this evidence including Susan's note at work saying if she disappeared to look at Josh. Poor Charlie was trying to tell the truth but Police wouldn't give him a chance. They should've talked with Charlie more than once. Omg police failed these kids & Susan so hard. Poor babies

They did speak with Charlie more than once. But it’s hard getting information out of small children because they’re so impressionable. They often try to please whomever they’re speaking with by telling them what they think they want to hear. And then mix it into what’s actually happened and you have what came out of Charlie’s mouth. He was only 4 when Susan was murdered.

They did not slack. They utilised every resource possible, including planes, helicopters, tracking devices, warrants, wires, numerous interviews of most people related to the case and more. I don't think you have a good grasp on how hard it is to convict a person without concrete evidence. You should think before criticising the people that sacrificed years of their life in attempt to solve this case and are probably still living with the grief this task has brought upon them to this day.

I think so too. Especially since Charlie said in his first interview that his mom stayed where the crystals are and that she was sleeping. Steve wud say Oh my son couldn't have killed her, knowing he knew so much information but refused to tell police. He could've saved these kids but he along with Michael & Elina protected Josh. Now they are all dead. Sadly, police failed them & the pervert predator grandma failed them. Cops even knew that Josh had Susan's cell phone & had taken the Sim card out of it. `Charlie kinda dropped some hints early on... He told the lady cop that his mum had "stayed" at the camp site with the "pretty crystals" and red berries ( presumably growing on bushes). He said there were lots of crystals at the Dinosaur camp site... and lots of flowers that were not pretty too??? ( What on earth would make flowers seem ugly to a 4 year old,??) When the cop said Crystals? (it seemed random) Charlie explained that crystals came from inside rocks. (thats important ) Repeatedly he said it was his secret and he wasn't to talk about it.. ...
Later (during a snack break) he ran outside and tried to kill a crow????? When asked why he said you had to put it in a hole and hit it with. yep...rocks ( would they smash open when you threw them ?).Then you cover it with earth and plant,,,guess what ..raspberry bushes. Then it would be perfect and people would leave it alone. ... Very weird unless you look back at what he said earlier about rocks and berries.. What had that poor little boy witnessed???.

We can only imagine just how long those kids were coached, lied to, preyed upon, gaslighted, filled with stories, etc. It goes on and on and on and on... I have a strong gut feeling that Josh would tell those kids all kinds of things at random, show them things at random, take them to influential memory places at random, and then recall them in times of trouble. So that if and when the kids were ever interviewed, they would just say all kinds of misinformation at random. Who knows what could have transpired. He could have used pictures, drawings, vocabulary, etc. Kind of like teaching a kid the ABCs. The ABCs of Deception that is. Those kids knew exactly what happened. I fully believe more details would have surfaced were they to survive and grow up. And Josh knew that. I don't think losing custody was his sole motivation. Rather a simple end to his horrible means. What a tragedy for Susan and those beautiful innocent children.....

    • @flynntaylor5459
      @flynntaylor5459 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@MomOnMission CamiFlauge I don't think she was killed that way. I think she was murdered in the house by being struck in the head with the impact driver which was never found. I think the boys were distracted so josh could do it. Then told them mom was sleeping wrapped her in the comforter and put her in the trunk. Got rip of her body somewhere along Simpson springs then went camping with the kids.
Once he got back from the police station after questioning. Took a cab, bought a new phone then called Michael to help him get rid of susan body and bury it or dump it somewhere else.
As far as the kids go. They had to miss their mother and knew something was wrong. Charlie was prob bullied and threatened to keep joshs secret. That doesn't mean Charlie can't reason things out and notice his mom is not there anymore. Steven with his own sick mind may believe that Charlie and Braden don't really miss their mom. They spent most of their time with her before she disappeared so they had to be missing her. Just because they can't express it due to fear doesn't mean they are not hurting. They just had to push it down in front of their father or the powells. Interesting that once custody was given to coxes, that the boys started to communicate knowing about their fathers crime. Slowly they were letting their feelings show about missing their mom and maybe in time they would have been able to fill in more details about their camping trip and what really happened. This new revelation terrified josh who wished that night to never be discussed. This would have been impossible the boys were witnesses, how much they saw is anyones guess but it was enough to be a lose end. The boys were a threat to josh and eventually josh silenced them too. He killed them along with himself when he learned he would be forced to take a psyvhosexual evaluation and lie detector test. This was the final blow and josh knew he couldn't get out of it. 😱😭💥🖤

So, what's up with what Charlie said about killing a bear? To kill a bear, push it in a hole, throw rocks in it, then cover the hole and plant a raspberry bush. Do you think this was told to him by Josh so that, if he ever repeated it, people would assume that's where Susan is buried? To throw them off the true location? In my state social services is called DHS(Department of Human Services)!!!!
Over the years I hav paid close attention to DHS n how they handle families!!! I had them called on me once bc my kids got dirty from playing outside( no joke this was their complaint)(my case was investigates n dropped). I have noticed that DHS pulls kids from their homes a lot of times for no reason or they leav a case open threading u the whole time making u walk on egg shells in fear of getting ur kids taking away if u slip up even a lil as most parents do!!! I hav also noticed how DHS ignores real complaints... they over look children who really need their help!!!! It’s like their so focused on messing w the good parents bc of some twisted power trip that they dnt hav enough time to look into cases that needs their immediate attention!!!! They r blinded by family acts, so they come out look at this perfect family n jus drop the case w/o fully investigating n in the end the kids end up dead bc our system failed them!!!! With Charlie n his lil brother the dad was a murder suspect clearly has problems, their paternal grandpa (bad) so immediately the kids should hav went to their maternal grandfather n only allowed to see their dad at police dept under close supervision or not seen him at all until 100% cleared!!!!! They say they want the kids to hav bonding w their parents during separation lik this but what about the child’s mental state? What about what the child wants? If the parents r the beat living good parents the kids regardless of their age will tell u I want mommy or daddy!!!! Ask them n listen to what they hav to say give children a voice to b heard!!!!!!!

Josh was consumed by jealousy over SUSANS BEAUTY. As life rolled on she got even more beautiful in his mind and so it followed that he needed to dominate the relationship. After all the 5 year age gap between her and him made this jealousy even more palpable and no way was he going to relent in any way shape and form. Towards the end, possibly 3 years before her death he mentally succumbed to the green eyed monster and knew he was going to terminate her life so he slowly but surely robbed their relationship of physicality and began a campaign to ruin Susans financial situation until penultimately ruin her living existence and ultimately terminate her life...and she saw the spirit of his intentions in the most salient way and rendered her situation as secure as she was able to. The end came like a thief in the night for her.

Don't forget that mental illness gets passed down from generation to generation. Sure, those kids were young and innocent. But what about when they grew up. I am sure Steve and Josh were once viewed by others as "sweet little kids" too. And look what they grew up and turned into. The details in this episode about the children's behaviour at school is very disturbing. And proves that similar tendencies and corrupt mentalities were brewing from the very beginnings. He repeatedly said that his mom went to the northpole. If you are open minded you might know what the kid was talking about. It would be interesting to know if they were vegetarian or interested in vegetarianism. The one video I saw of Susan, she seems very rude and mean to her kid.The video of the father... the way the father spoke to the kid was Waaayyyy Nicer! I suspect she ran away and left the father because he was so open minded that she couldn't understand him, she couldn't understand why he didnt like to use Facebook so much... why he had bought all the things he had. They don't understand the situation because they don't know the deep state... The way I saw the police treat the little kid in the interviews... were so cold. I don't trust it. They don't have any proof that she was murdered... do they? All dumb. I could see on the video the kid was scared of his mom. People should de~brainwash themselves.

@@JMD621 I mean the kid kept saying he is hungry to the police lady, she even went out of the interview outside the room and came back. She didn't respond to him saying anything about being hungry... the mom in one video did something similar and told the kid to keep quiet or go to his room instead of attending to his needs. Then after that the kid kept hiding behind the door from his mom.. obviously the father wasn't there or else she would mot be able to film all his things infront of him if she was scared of the father, so that means the kid was hiding behind the door from his mother.

In comparison to the videos where the kid is with his father the kid was relaxed and happy and open to talking to his father.

@@JMD621 In that interview where the police lady went out the kid stood up walking to the electric wires and repeated words to himself as to where the plugs go and such, kids don't come up with that themselves, obviously the father was the tech guru and he was storing if I remember correctly food and the mother just seemed to complain about him not wanting Facebook... and she didn't understand why he was storing more food and such... can't people have their own opinions about Facebook anymore? So who do you think taught the kid about electrical wires, the mother or the father? The things he repeated when he talked to himself in the interview while the police lady was gone was more probably what his dad who was interested in computers and wiring had taught him. I doubt that it wouod be his mother who taught him that because of the way she was talking about the dad's computers and tech wiring where she kept saying she doesn't know what it all is (refering to the dad's tech) and what it is for.

Charley certainly displayed psychopathic signs at times. I’m wondering if he didn’t kill Susan.

Or witnessed her murder by his father, and his behaviour was mimicing that event.
