Today I did it for the second time! After the First time… has been amazing how good a felt the movement of my hips at Walk 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Thank you very much Matt …
@@Uprighthealth First time doing your videos...been working on bringing my muscles out of partial aphrophy and finding your channel will help with consistency and staying safe while growing strong. I'm 60 from Utah.. Yes interested in seniors program.
I never thought of myself as a senior. Then age creeped up on me and now leg muscle strength and balance are actually a problem. Thank you for focusing on the needs of us old folks 🤪🤗🥳👍
I am mid 70’s. Never thought of myself as old then car accident broke back and c1 neck fracture. Was recovering g nicely after 5 years but Christmas morning woke up in worst pain of my life even worse then broken neck and back. Went to er. I have phn in left hip and down front of nerves in left leg. I’m slowly managing recovery but my legs are now so very weak. Hoping this will help
very good for my lower thighs n legs, which i w as feeling little weaker, i’m 75, then doing these excercises made me feel little stronger, This w ill be my routine from now on. I need it badly. Thank you. 🙏🙏🙏
Wow! Thank you very much for demonstrating and doing these exercises with us! Also, your comical narratives make the workout more enjoyable! You're the best!!
These leg exercises are the best. So doable. Love that I can slowly work up to them. I'm 77 & really want to strengthen my legs & every part of my body. My back is a problem but working to strengthen that. I really appreciate what you do. THANK YOU SO MUCH. Suzanne Buck
Thanks Matt. That was a great class. I like this idea aot - classes that is. Nice pace and good challenges. No problem for me but I do my own workouts every day. You help me along the way. Love your humour too.
Trying to be able to walk without feeling any pain by exercising. Finding your upright health exercises helpful. Btw, I’m 92 already and still trying to keep fit. Thank you Matt!
Thank you Matt 🙏🏻 I followed this set of exercises confident that they wouldn't give me too much trouble. After all I've been trying hard to strengthen my muscles for months - pilates, gym, walking and sometimes your exercise suggestions (when I think about it 😬). And yes, I have improved - I can leg-press heavier weights, I can walk further, but I found these targeted 'simple' exercises quite taxing, even without weights 😄 And that just re-inforces to me that consistent, targeted, correctly-performed, straightforward movements can sometimes be far more effective. I shall certainly be continuing this routine. And yes, I would most certainly welcome an overall workout for seniors. I'm 78. Thank you Matt.
I really like it … all of them … the first one it’s a challenge… my range of hip motion it’s unfortunately -at the Moment- very limited… i believe that following your advice I will recover ❤️❤️❤️exactly what I need!!! As always with your helpful videos… Thank you very much Matt Greetings from Switzerland, Ofelia 🤗
Since February 2024, I've been doing my age in pushups everyday. I hear what you mean by my body being out of balance. My left side is weaker than left. I will use the dumbells to put my body back in balance. P.S. I'm 68 years old, and I can get there in one set.
It's called a plyometric box (he's using a hard foam one), available on Amazon and Walmart. For these exercises you could definitely use a chair and lean on a table, maybe placing a seat cushion on the tabletop to cushion your elbows
Thanks you. I started 10 squats daily for two weeks. Range improved. After 20 days I can do 20 squats. 10 morning and 10 evening. 15-30 min. high walking.
I like the idea of a senior fitness program. Have always been active but I’ve lost a LOT of strength and flexibility. All the programs I’ve looked at just defeat me before I even try thinking “wow is that gonna hurt!”
Just gotta find the right level of challenge! A lot of 'fitness youtube' is geared toward young people who can bounce back a lot faster! And a lot of 'senior workouts' are TOOOOOO easy! 😅
Thank you so much Matt, that was surprisingly difficult, so I know I really need to keep at it! The squats are always difficult for me but the hamstring curls were too.
Yay another great video ❤squats IS THE areas I really need to work on !!!im doing farmer walking around my house with 35 lb weights ….im 76 years young 😂
In a month I will 60 . I realize that my legs and my lower back is losing strength . Last week , I went snorkeling and it was great but when it was time to get back on the boat using the ladder , I almost didn't make it back on the boat , I had no strength at all . Therefore , I really appreciate your video that can help people like me . Thank you .🙂
For follow-along vids it would be greatly appreciated if you used chapters. Put each exercise in a separate chapter makes it easy to jump to desired exercise.
I’m 61 and recently started running again after a fifteen year absence from the practice. It’s wasn’t easy and I’m building slowing, but I do feel like a thirty something again….as long as I don’t look in the mirror 😮
I rarely find any lower body workouts that I can do. I am a bilateral below knee amputee and have spent the last 2 years in a wheelchair as I haven't been able to heal my left leg enough to use my prosthetic. My prostheses weigh almost 9kg, so I don't ever use additional weights yet. Also, the way my prostheses adhere to me leaves very little knee mobility. I don't have enough motion to make a standard porch step. Can you show exercises to help with strength and balance for people like me?
The workout here began to bother my left knee as I had injured it almost 20 years ago when gardening. The doctor said it was chondromalacia patella. It was the muscles in front of and behind my left knee that hurt after the sitting and extending my left knee. After doing that exercise, it felt like those muscles weren’t holding my knee bones in place anymore so it was hard to walk without left knee pain after that exercise. When I rubbed my knee, it felt better enough to walk on it. How can I avoid this problem when doing this exercise in the future? I am 77.
Matt gives alot of advice throughout his video series and his online training programs...most of which are free. I am sure you can find answers to all your questions within his mass of information available. I know I have been really educated through spending this time.
Hello, I had a big scare this morning as I heard a woman tell another woman she lost 2” in her height. She’s in her 70’s and seems active to me. She is not over weight either. Could you please tell us how to stop or NOT to shrink as we age? Do pharmaceuticals have a role in this? HELP!
Some shrinkage just happens. But slouching definitely makes it MUCH worse. My parents both shrank a bit and neither one actually slouched that much. If I ever say, 'pharmaceuticals are the answer' to any chronic lifestyle problem, please send a rescue squad. Someone either has a gun to my head or is holding my child ransom.
I tried but cannot bring it do high as you do anyway i just started then got a slide fever &felt dizzy so stop for awhile then started my left toe then very pain my wife put ointment oil the pain has gone down but is still paining but I carried on after 2 days felt weak but the pain is still there but less pain what is your advise ,I'm 68 I dont think Im vdry old have seen older man @ 80 yrs old jogging pull ups which i cannot do now after stroke & accident and falls

A great way to gently get back into using sleeping muscles, thank you!
Great! Appreciate this seniors’ routine. 74 and able to do it all as a result of following you for a few years.

I really enjoyed these exercises!! Thank you!!!
This video will be a new part of my routine.
70 with MS so very weak legs I'm trying to strengthen. Thanks for this. My hips need strength to be able to complete them but will be working on it!

@@Uprighthealth exactly!
@@Uprighthealth exactly true.....most of us so called 'seniors' are of course baby boomers....we invented youth and exercise! LOL
What is the right weight for these excercises , I am 68yrs old
@@krishnamurarirai1577 Use the weight that works for you without pain or too much stress. Everyone's is different.
Light. Start light. Ankle weights 1-3 lbs.

I'm interested in the senior work out
Loved this. I do work out at hiit 3x a week and need something more human. (I’m 82). Anything fit Bertolotti’s syndrome? I could sure use something.

What do you call that black block. Looks like it would be very useful. My chairs are rickety and never seem to be the right height.
When is the best time to exercise ? Morning or evening ? I tend to do this in the evenings!

I hav patella femoral syndrome. The back raise bothers my knees. Is that to be expected?

Like your sneakers. Orange & blue. What brand?
Hee you wearing barefoot shoes? Do you recommend them for seniors?

Any repeated stressful movements involving the knee joint with damaged articular surfaces aren't suitable. Try isometric exercises instead.
Try squats. They really help a lot!
