The locomotive needs Octan logos on the sides now. The loco wouldn't be owned or leased by Octan, but rather Octan has paid the railway to use the loco as a mobile advertisement.
8:20 If you haven't used them for anything yet, maybe try using them as air conditioning units, like the ones you see on refrigerator cars, the rolling stock used to transport produce, orange juice, ice cream, and any other goods transported by rail that need to be kept cold. Those pieces look remarkably sililar to the devices on the ends of refrigerator cars here in the United States, only half the height as the real ones.
when the chrome part goes down the city and streets pass through the rail way its cool bc u can see the reflection of what the figures would see from the streets
Perfect use of the chrome Octan parts! Love it! Feels like Octan is using some different kinds of rolling stock from different eras on the Cargo Train, which makes perfect sense!
hello robin hood bricks if you see a big freight train in america you’d see 3 locos up front and the rest in pairs no bigger than 3 in the middle or back this is because the locomotives they use and the size of the train could actually break the couplers but if the power is more distributed through the train it covers some of the strain that would normally go on the couplers at the front of the train tldr: it is realistic to have locos in the middle of your train to stop the couplers from breaking
Yeah I find that hard in the current city due to the amount of obstacles to the IR signal. It needs to reach all the locomotives at the same time. There will be a much bigger cargo loop in the new setup and what you suggest about splitting the power will be possible!
As chunky as the trailer base looks, it seems like it could be a military transporter that perhaps the SSP bought to haul around some very cool toys, er,... vital law-enforcement equipment. And the stubby tractor isn't far off from commercial trucks employed for light military use in the M915 series
Wow that's massive. You're right. It looks fairly similar and would be idea for the SSP. I wonder if it's a bit big for roadplates but good idea. Woowoowoo!
I got some of the lower chrome pieces that were heavy scratched, so after carefully removing the chrome with Brasso, I made an alternate build for set 3180 in the old shell colours. I have been looking to make a similar style of tanker for my Lego trains, now after watching this video I have a way to finish it off. I have some Esso stickers from a sheet I used to add the shell ones to the alternate 3180. Train and city is looking good
I'm hoping you can use the basic structure of that lovely truck and trailer somewhere. Maybe a heavy transport covered in hazard stripes with escorts carrying a large minisub down to the dock! Or a really big yellow firetruck for your airport?
That chrome really does look great! If you replace the red and green plates in the center of the stripes on either end with brackets, you could attach grey large dish pieces to the ends, covering the yellow and rounding it off. One 1x2 bracket that goes up and one 1x2 bracket that goes down could be joined by a 2x2 plate or mod plate with technic pin that the dish could be mounted on. I also wonder what the control bits underneath would look like if those plates and bricks were black, maybe very sleek, or if they were light grey they’d look look like one piece with the chrome the way the light grey up top also begins to meld with the chrome.
I love the way the stripe looked ones you added it. I think the hornet looks great with the logos but if you dislike it you can always use them in a build of a supervisor or Octan control car as a cuboose cab since you have so many different cars hauling their supplies. what a great support to the channel, thank you Yan. Keep up the amazing builds
This looks great, and your modifications are perfect! You could use those technic half pins to add a plate setup to cover up those yellow pieces, maybe even add a dish piece to round it out
In real life, there are many examples of petroleum companies have their logos also branded on rolling stock and locos (especially after a new contract). We have some tankers that have the Transnet Logo and the livery is slightly changed (example the dome is painted green) and BP is on the side too. Oh ja, that is an AWESOME build!
I feel like the ends need something. The yellow kind of sticks out weirdly and the pinholes seem out of place. Not sure what the best way to do that would be though.
Possibly could use some custom stickers on the non octan silver pieces and custom stickers or old stickers to make other companies of fuel like a shell tanker using the same pieces but the plane ones with no octan on it to variate it!
Another amazing train car MOC Robin! Great details added to the tanker. It might benefit from adding the old ladder pieces to the ends to allow a minifig to climb to the top to access the lids and handles.? Keep up the good work. Nice to see a small build again. 😁👍
Yay a build video and trains!!!!! 🚂 This build is great and the coloured line in the middle really adds to the set. You have taken an ok set to an awesome set!! 😃 A excellent new add to the trains, different main colour so great. 👍 JJ F
To be honest I am not a fan of the yellow ends of the chrome tanker. Hope you find a way to put some end caps on it, to tie it in with the rest of the tanker. Maybe use some yellow - black striped warning signs on there?
Maybe the trailer bed could be used as a pier. Maybe with the overall reduction in yellow, a yellow wheel for the bottom shut off would stand out really well. With the struggle of the longer train maybe the freight could be split into to lines converging at the harbor or some relay station?
I've not tried it all as one train since upgrading from six motors to ten motors so it might be fine. The new room will have larger radius bends which will also help!
Nailed it Robin! That is one shiny tanker car and the octane train is nice too. I was wondering if it would look better if the train was ahead of the car in position.
I like both the chrome Octan tank and the octan logo on the locomotive. Would it be possible in some way to block the holes on the sides of the shiny Octan wagon? Maybe with technic hafpins and a 1x4 tile? maybe one with dials on it? Think Lego has one printed, if not it is a sticker. Think that might be cool.
Looks great! I wonder if you could break up the yellow on the ends with a couple of those little ladder pieces that hang down? I don’t know if there is enough space for them, though.
Maybe replacing the round plates on the top of the tanker and putting in a vent piece from one of the police stations it on the feature on the prison cell escape feture
So, are you re doing certain builds when you have built a few things in your new layout. Also if the current city is changing layout mabey do a final city overview in your current room.
I checked. You can get the key bits for three from Czechia for about £30 total delivered. I was tempted but my vibe is one of each wagon so I'll leave them to others. There aren't many in the world though!
Lol, that joke on face reveal; I was gonna yell you I was checking the mirroring tank :-) Fantastic upgraded wagon! Did you consider using silverish tiles on top?
Oooh I've got some of those from an Agents set. I might have to see if I have enough for the perimeter. They're properly silvery but not chrome. Good shout!

Aah that's a good twist for the reason. A leased train. Sounds good to me!
@@RobinHoodBricks I'm glad you like the idea.
Maersk had some promotion with Norfolk Southern awhile back, it looked almost exactly like the Lego version! So it does happen in real life sometimes

Yes, you're right!
when the chrome part goes down the city and streets pass through the rail way its cool bc u can see the reflection of what the figures would see from the streets
Yeah that wagon worked so well!
You could add those larger white dish pieces to the ends to make it more dome on the ends, and it could cover that yellow
It only covers part of the yellow and looks worse overall in my opinion. Good shout though!
man I loved it I also tried to see his face in the reflection of the chrome tanker
It was there, just not clearly, haha!
Perfect use of the chrome Octan parts! Love it! Feels like Octan is using some different kinds of rolling stock from different eras on the Cargo Train, which makes perfect sense!
Yes it feels authentic but I know which one's my favourite!
Excellent surprise build Robin, you need sunglasses watching this one roll around!
Yeah, imagine a train made of a dozen of these. Wow!
nice! I love how the details you add really transform the 4+ big block set to a sophisticated train tanker wagon.
Thank you very much!

I thought they'd all be heavily scratched but a shell tanker is still very cool. That's another good colour combo!
I'm hoping you can use the basic structure of that lovely truck and trailer somewhere. Maybe a heavy transport covered in hazard stripes with escorts carrying a large minisub down to the dock!
Or a really big yellow firetruck for your airport?
I like the idea of a mini-sub transporter.
Yeah an unusual load with effort explains the oversized base etc. I've not put it away yet so I'll play around with it first!
That chrome really does look great! If you replace the red and green plates in the center of the stripes on either end with brackets, you could attach grey large dish pieces to the ends, covering the yellow and rounding it off. I tried the dish on LDD and the yellow ends would be visible all around the outside. I think it looks worse. It was worth a try though!
Wow. I had no idea those chrome pieces existe. I love the new addition to your cargo train. Kudos on the great work.
Thank you very much. Yes they are lovely pieces!
I love the way the stripe looked ones you added it. Yeah I agree. I think I'll keep the new cabs. There aren't any strong objections and it could be a leased locomotive!
Ya
This looks great, and your modifications are perfect! You could use those technic half pins to add a plate setup to cover up those yellow pieces, maybe even add a dish piece to round it out
A dish piece doesn't match up very well and leaves bits of yellow all around. Good idea though!
I’ve been eyeing those chrome tanker pieces since I saw your first tanker video! Now I know I need them. Good job!
Hurry up, there aren't many about!
I just got my parts!
Thanks again for the inspiration.
(Btw, I’m liking your new Lego room!)
Can't wait to see how you setup the trains and trams in the new layout.
Similar but more loops, more track, more trains at once!
That will be brilliant and maybe make a custom middle carriage for the tram as well but maybe not
The loco with Octan logos reminds me of Lotos... Really cool!
Yay!
In real life, there are many examples of petroleum companies have their logos also branded on rolling stock and locos (especially after a new contract). We have some tankers that have the Transnet Logo and the livery is slightly changed (example the dome is painted green) and BP is on the side too.

Ahh very good to know. Thank you!
I feel like the ends need something. The yellow kind of sticks out weirdly and the pinholes seem out of place. Not sure what the best way to do that would be though.
half a dozen chrome tankers pulled by the octan yellow train would look nice
Yes it would ..
It would look amazing and I want to do it but it's kinda against my rule that they all need to be different!
@@RobinHoodBricks they would all be different.... you have 6 engines... 6 different trains, all pulling different loads 🤔😋
Possibly could use some custom stickers on the non octan silver pieces and custom stickers or old stickers to make other companies of fuel like a shell tanker using the same pieces but the plane ones with no octan on it to variate it!
Custom sticker is okay but I think most rather only you s the sticker s Lego made .
I love this build! A fantastic use of parts!
Glad you like it. I agree!
This looks absolutly amazing
Shiny and amazing, haha!
Despite it being a 4 juniors set it’s the best octan tanker lorry imo. Perfect for converting to a railway tanker
The tanker has greatly improved. I’m very eager to see the whole of Snowpiercer travel across BN2.0 😊
Hopefully it'll be easier to get rolling with the extra power, fewer obstacles and bigger radius turns!
😮oh wow. I not seen this set. Talked about online .. Shaw the chrome stickers not a print. Nice score Robin an the one you had donated .😊
Very cool, yes!
I had that semi tanker as a kid I completely forgot about it till now i loved that set
It's quite satisfying to drive about, haha!

I tried the bigger ladders but maybe smaller ones would work!
Ladders?
@@SerialDesignationNPlaysRoblox Part # 4175 Ladder 1 1/2 x 2 x 2. The old little ladders that can be used as grills also.

A excellent new add to the trains, different main colour so great. 👍

I'm tempted to buy ten more and have then all in a row, haha!
Robin in real life some times as well as a crane there would be a yellow and black striped carriage. So they can set it up to lift wagons up
So they can what? Not sure I follow!
To be honest I am not a fan of the yellow ends of the chrome tanker. Hope you find a way to put some end caps on it, to tie it in with the rest of the tanker. Maybe use some yellow - black striped warning signs on there?
If you mean 1x4 tiles, that would be easy but not much less yellow!

I could try, but the yellow has grown on me!
Nailed it Robin! That is one shiny tanker car and the octane train is nice too. I was wondering if it would look better if the train was ahead of the car in position.
I'll try to remember that when I combine everything together into one mega train!
Amazing well done! The stripe is perfect 🤩
Thank you. Much appreciated!
I didn't think the red and green stripes would look good, but damn, that looks awesome!
Yup. No contest!
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 love it!! I may Definitely try to buy the pieces myself to do something similar in the future. Great Build!! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Be quick, there aren't many around. They'll be sold out very soon, I predict!
This looks incredible! The stripe down the centre is just perfect. Amazing! (side note, can we getet an octaven sticker…?)
The stripe is lovely. If I add an Octan emoji I'll have to lose one of the other ones. I need about 20 more members before I can add another!
@@RobinHoodBricks lets hope you get to that then!
Congrats on 35k subs!
At last. It was a slow climb there at the end!
The yellow on the back / front doesn't really work with the grey / chrome color. It may look better of you cover it?
Difficult because of its odd shape. I thought the same at first but now I quite like the yellow!
Looks good. Could know if you could but a satalite dish type piece to give it a little of a bulge at each end?
It doesn't cover up all the yellow and it looks odd, if you ask me!
I like the loco with the Octan logos!
Yay. It's now a leased locomotive!
Looks great! I wonder if you could break up the yellow on the ends with a couple of those little ladder pieces that hang down? I don’t know if there is enough space for them, though.
Not enough space for the long ones and I'm not sure if the spacing is right for the short ones, although that's worth a try!
i do like that stripes you made with green and red line.
i did like the Octan cab. but it also than a green and red stripes on it.
Awesome!
I wonder, is there a dish you could put on either end of the tank to round it off? Either in traditional Octan white or in yellow?
The yellow is still visible around the sides and it looks pretty bad. Also I quite like the yellow now!
I would add some pipes or something on the sides of that octan tank or round the sides off to match the smaller one.
if it is so close to the white one, probably put a whip or wire between the 2.
Is that a thing? Surely that would be dangerous!
Did you try to incorporate any hoses into this build?
I never even considered it having failed to even Google a picture of a real life one. Silly Robin!
Robin, both look great. You could also have used a hose near the tanker. To be able to unload the fuel
To be honest I should've looked at some real life ones. I just added some gubbins to the bottom so they're was something there, haha!
Maybe replacing the round plates on the top of the tanker and putting in a vent piece from one of the police stations it on the feature on the prison cell escape feture
I know what you mean. I don't think I have two of those!
The trucks of the train seem to have a white and red bricks showing on the inside. Can you swap the white for green to keep the Octan color scheme?
Could you see that when it was running? That's the colours of 60051's and, since, many many more in my city!
@@RobinHoodBricks No sir, not when it was running. Only when you were holding it and the trucks moved around and exposed the inside end.
Nice Trains
Thank you very much!
Great job
Win!
Oh my love it. I need 6 of thos ..
Yeah a while train of that would be awesome, but my rule is one of each maximum!
More room = more track = more wagons = more locomotives = more train = absolute win
