that instrument is called the "baglama" in Turkish sometimes referred to in other languages as "saz" especially in the balkans. Although it is a very widespread instrument in the region Turkish way of playing is very different than others it is more sorrowful. But in the Balkans, it is usually played in a joyful way. You can listen Percival-Lazare for a modern non-Turkish interpretation of the instrument.

You're awesome guys. I like your videos. I have a recommend for you. Doğa İçin Çal(play for nature). It's a different and amazing project. So many artists and instrument players coming together from all over the world in this project. And they're start doing this project nearly 10 years ago. And they perform a song once a year or sometimes maybe just twice. They couldn't performed last year cause of the pandemic. I'm not sure but I think they're performed 11 songs in 9 year. As you can predict it is really hard to make videos like doğa için çal(play for nature). So I think you should react for that reason :) Greetings from Turkey. Stay safe. Peace and love

The stringed instrument you like there (1:56) is the electric version of the Turkish acoustic instrument "saz" or "bağlama". So it is the electric saz (or electric bağlama whichever you prefer to call it). It is a cool instrument isn't it?
