  • Custom Shop Fender Telecaster 1952 in Nocaster Blonde - Relic with Original Blackguard 51/52 Pick-ups. As Close to The Original Vintage Model you can Get!!! Simply Fabulous!!!
In previous videos I did reviews on the Fender Telecaster American Pro series 1 - see review here - ( • UB:24 USA Fender Tele ... ) and the Fender Telecaster Custom Shop 61 Relic, see review here - ( • UB:25 Custom Shop Fend... ), so it was only going to be a matter of time before I would look into Fender’s Custom Shop 1952 Nocaster.
In this video I unbox and review a very close rebuild of one of the most iconic guitars you can buy today. Starting out in 1950 with a very short life under the name ‘Broadcaster’ which was removed to avoid a possible law suit, there would be a brief period of time that this new solid body electric guitar type would be nameless, and later to be known as the ‘Nocaster' period. This late 2022 re-make of that classic guitar sports the following hand-wound pick-ups. In both the bridge and neck positions are Original Black Guard Single-Coil 50-51 pick-ups giving that classic Telecaster Twang, yet also a deep warm tone in the neck position. The guitar comes with a secondary volume/tone/selector panel set, should you want a more modern configuration for the pick-up selection and tonal options. The body is Ash and the neck and fingerboard is rift sawn maple sporting 21 narrow tall 6105 frets and all worn-in to make for a fabulous playing experience. There are those who would say, a Telecaster is all you need, and while that is quite a broad statement and open to debate, this particular 52 Telecaster model is quite capable, and while it does lend itself to the brightness it’s known for, it is also well able to cover more subtle tones. As you would expect of the period, the Telecaster comes with a very nice G&G manufactured Tweed Case.
In Q&A (Questions & Answers Video 8) I take a look at a number of Fender Telecasters and put them in a side-by-side tone comparison - • Q&A:8 Fender Telecaste... - If your in the market for one of these guitars I hope this video will give you some insight as I cover various details and tones you can expect to see and hear... Enjoy!

Another great tele. Sounds nice and clean and the yellow is classic. I find fender do a really good job on the relics I've seen. There is just something about the "honesty" of the tone of a telecaster that makes it one of Leo's crowning gems.
