    Dude lands his tricks crazy. Like his boards about to wash out. Beyond that, who cares what race he is. I read some of the comments on here and it really makes me hope people are just being pathetic bored trolls.

      @crittercosner2877 7 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      Or... just hear me out... they have and realize that the board is expensive, not at fault, and that breaking the board serves only to make the skater look like a child throwing a temper tantrum.

    • @nomadic-mind
      @nomadic-mind 7 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Focusing your board isn't throwing a tantrum. When it cracks or starts breaking people break their boards dramatically sometimes.

    • @jasons_encore

      Everyone is different, but if you've ever been competitive or just wanted to do something really bad, then you'll get frustrated/mad at some point. You see football players breaking footballs, their gear, soccer players the same, tennis players breaking their 200 dollar + racquets. It's not about being logical. If you really think they're childish for doing so, then sorry, but look up any great athlete doing some "childish shit", and I guarantee you'll find something on it. Are you consider that childish even considering that they are the best at what they do? Also, skateboards aren't all that expensive.

    • @IDiggPattyMayonnaise
      @IDiggPattyMayonnaise 7 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Critter Cosner Or... in the moment you need to release your frustrations. Like punching a wall. The wall didnt do anything but you need an outlet. Its far better to release your anger than hold it in, especially on an inanimate object rather than holding it in and then letting it out on someone later. Pros do it. Ams do it. Local kids do it. Doesnt make anyone look like a child, it makes them look human

    • @tyskbulle
      @tyskbulle 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Critter Cosner + Like he said, you've never been a skater before. Its a stressful, frustrating and dangerous sport. Break as many fucking boards as you like. I more concerned about not wearing a helmet.

    What he should do is leave his home country for a while and travel to different parts of the world to skate. He can make connections with other skaters throughout his travels and can influence others to skate at his home country. By doing that, he won't be bored and he can bring back the skate scene that was once lost.

    • @jlow2728
      @jlow2728 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      At 0:36, you hear Jian Shen say "Guangzhou" in Cantonese. No one is asking for PERFECT pronunciation in a language unfamiliar to them, but the least Vice can do is get it as close to right as possible. They obviously have correspondents in China who could have helped with this..

      Jiyin Low Why the Fuck do you care if an american cant pronounce a weird ass city name

    • @alsavini
      @alsavini 7 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      I can tell you why I care... I care because not even attempting the j sound of the zh in Guangzhou shows carelessness of the reporting that discredits Vice and its quality. Its actually not that difficult to say if the girl just practiced or if Vice had official policy on working towards trying to say words right. As Vice grows into the media monstrosity it increasingly is seen as, its these characteristics that make me question Vice's commitment to the values I'd like to see in my news stations. BBC has very tight requirements, for example, on attempting pronunciation of places and names in non English, as does CNN reporting staff.

      Because unlike America and other countries, kids in China don’t really have any free times, schools usually starts at around 7:00 in the morning and ends at 6:00, and after that some may have extra tutoring, for the kids in China, skate broading is actually a really unfamiliar sports, i was lucky enough to leaving China (Guangzhou actually, we’re from the same city) after the 6th grade, so for him grow up in China and manage to become pro is actually really impressive, respect for him

    I've never been to China… but every time I see video of a house or place in China, I notice that the floors are always covered with inexpensive tiles (as opposed to carpet or wood or concrete)…
    I'm just wondering why this is? Is it cultural, or more of a money thing.

      You mean in the street? Or in a room?

      Yixuan Jia- I notice tile in houses mostly. Or like in this video, where they all were chilling at spot... drinking and what not, I saw a tile floor.

      dru Stories hmm, normally at resident rooms ppl use tiles or wood material floor, price from 15dollar per sqr meter up to 1xx dollar. And that bar looks not quite fancy, just a street bar, maybe the boss intent to invest on other things.

      Yixuan Jia... but carpeted floors, that's not super common??

      dru Stories piece of carpet from ikea, but not all over the place. Only some office and hotels use carpet everywhere.

    at 3:20, the frames show a rack of boards. The big black one says it all - Hong motha fucking Kong. I know this is a fun video, cool skating and all. But we better wake up, pull our heads out of ass and smell the petunias. Did you check out the Guangzhou skyline? Many years ago I was flying north in a Huey, up near the DMZ. We banked hard left and headed out toward the Yellow Sea. We say a huge area being cleared. a couple of months later, we say the geometric shapes, outlining a new city.
    A month or so later, we could clearly see the 3D risings of the sky scrapers. Months later, on a night flight, the whole town was light up light Manhattan.
    Why have we lost our way? It is good that this is a skateboarding video. Like the surfing and motocross videos in the 70s, we escape, we idolize and we forget life for a while. We envy the talent, the dedication, and the ability of these riders and drivers and that they have the liberty to do what they do and life, good or bad, doesn't see to touch them.
    We forget for a while, we are lost.

      Andres - My mentor is a Serrano, he is great man. I am lamenting that we in the US are all consumed in nonsense, and we are a dying country, yet Eastern Asia (East of Japan) is rising. We seem to have forgotten how to grow, in fact, many convince us that we can't. I lived in East Asia for 17 years, the Asian Tiger years. Lee Kwon Yu, HopeWell, Mathatir, and Posco. China had Taiwan and Hong Kong, with Shanghai and Guangzhou waking up. And then, boom, the lights went out in the US and all we do is buy, buy, buy, and worry about a little fat man with an odd hair cut. I grew up where everyone worked, we have industrial capacity, ingenuity and peace. Now we are rusted, barren, resentful, and wage war everywhere. Eastern Asia is growing like a crop of corn.
      That's what I am talking about.
