Good group of stoves to compare.
    Any plans on testing outside?
Testing outside with a 7-10 mph wind would emulate most mountain hunting situations.
For me the Piezo igniter is a deal breaker, as they seem to fail often. Or at least as much as I use a stove.

Not likely testing in wind. Thanks for the feedback. Best of luck this season!

I have the Flash, and totally agree with your review. Now I want the MiniMo.

Yeah, unfortunately the minimo is pretty good…

Yeah I've been struggling with a jet boil zip for years now and always dreamt about controlling the flame better.
      Take my money

besides time, how was the gas consumption to boil time between each unit ? that is what really shows the efficacy of a stove

I measured efficiency purely in time to boil. But, one way to measure consumption would be to take 5 new cans, weigh them before and after.

@@HuntDetail ya boil time is one thing. however if the fastest boil time stove uses 2 times the fuel as a stove that takes 1min longer it is not very efficient. the faster stove will need say two can of fuel to do the same number of boils, where the slow stove will need only one can to do the same number of boils.

I understand your point, but I doubt that the Jetboil is getting a boil at 1:33…at the cost of twice the fuel as the MSR…which boils at 2:16…my guess is that the actual fuel consumption is somewhat similar…or at least not a huge variant. That said…it would need to be a huge variant for me to pick the MSR over the Jetboil. Even if the MSR is more efficient in consumption, I’d still take the Minimo based on speed…in addition to the other factors.

Don't forget when there is wind. Other videos show the MSR taking almost half the time of the jetboil because the flame is protected from the effects of the wind.

@@funnypranksgonewrong I’m sure there are scenarios where each of these shine, etc. But, there is zero chance I would use the MSR. For me, it just seems overpriced in addition to the boil time. Best of luck this season!

Regarding fire maple not being stable on the burner. It has notches on the rim that are meant to lock cup into place. If not aligned properly it will be flimsy.

Yes. I’m aware. And yes, it was still flimsy. Most burners have that sort of set up…I was disappointed that Fire Maples was more sturdy.
