How i wish elites views are respected and taken in good faith to correct the present mistakes. You are honoured for giving a befitting memorial lecture on one of the greatest African heroes, the late Dr. A. M. Obote. Be blessed!

Prof PLO Lumumba will be remembered as someone who genuinely educated Africans with no pain. He is indeed a walking encyclopedia. Unfortunately, most of us do not learn.

He's Kenyan! His pan Africanist Kenyan parents named him Patrick Lumumba in honor of Patrice Emery Lumumba, the first prime minister of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Brilliant speech from Prof. Lumumba. However, Obote laid a rotten foundation which has doomed Uganda to political instability and brutality perhaps for the next 100 years. He laid the foundation of using the military to settle political disagreements and changing the constitution to suit the incumbent leader's whims. That mistake - which he made in 1966 - sowed the seeds of the 1971 coup, the subsequent civil wars and the brutalization of political opponents using security services which still plagues Uganda today.
