This is precisely why employment history is an awful thing to have in the game. I have a toon from 2006, needless to say I have an employment history longer than most people you've seen. You instantly get judged for this, but the reality is further from what they perceive. Ive joined so many corps that promise this, they promise that. They promise you the moon! They have 200 characters! Then you login and there's like 3 people on daily, the ceo (if you're lucky, most of these guys have already quit or play once a month).. And they don't actually do anything they claimed to do. Ive left more corps in 24 hours of joining than I have stayed, I am not there to build your organization for you. You claimed to do all these activities, you claimed you're on in my TZ.. I'm not going to waste weeks of my subscription time messing with groups that barely play the game. And I get tired of being judged when people see my employment history just because I chose not to waste my time with bad corps.
If you're joining corps and leaving within 24 hours then it sounds like you probably have the patience of a five-year-old with ADHD. It's really not surprising that people see that as a red flag.
Great discussion and video as always. Personally, the problem/situation that I'm having is that my mood and my playstyle / what I want to do in Eve are always changing. One day I want to experience big fleet combat, coordination with another player, and risky exploration adventure, and one day I just want to mine in peace, not having to worry about moving my stuff, because the alliance made this deal with another alliance in regards to territory and stuff. And there's not a single corporation that can fit all of that playstyle, so what I do is assign each character a purpose/task of what I want to do for that character. I have one character in a well-established null sec alliance, most of the SP is used in training the alliance doctrine. Another character I put in the non-war declarable corp of that alliance, most of the SP are used for resource harvesting and production. my last character (my favourite) is the more general-ish character, whose purpose of this character is to join a small, growing corp. where most of my story and memorable journey of Eve happened with this character. Sure with this setup I can't get the most optimal industry, PI, isk per hour and I need to retrain some of the same skills. But so far it has been fun There a lot you can do in Eve Online, just need to find out what is your fun per hour is Ign AmmoAnts , Ferox Skin please for my new primary ship fitting o7
This is the nice thing about having alts. Ive got several characters in a null sec corp, have Red and the Indy crew in my personal high sec corp, another set of chars for frig abyssals. This way I decide what I want to do and then do what I want when I want.
It`s been a while i am happy to have some news from you master of none ;) for the corporation i think most important is to find people that have the same long run goal in terme or growing , activities and so on .... i guess should be like that and of course never join strange outnumbred Nsecers groups they are hiring only for corporation taxe and numbers statics .
Spent afew yrs in the big null blocks now and still a solo player. A group to actually talk to and enter act with makes the game alot better imo. But finding it good luck. Hope ppl do find their place. Just remember everyone wants to be accepted and fit in just like you do.
and these corporations have taxes, but they give nothing in return other than being able to use a station for less than a month and then lose it and lose your ships
A great video, as usual. Helping corporation will make capuleers willing to contribute to the group. Don't know if there is an equivalent proverb in English, but in French, we say that we "don't attract flies with vinegar". :-D I would like the Raven skin for my character Eldaron Telcontar.
Reason I started my own Corp with my own alts. Almost all of them starter toons yet to be trained into Industry. Got to blame you for that mate got me hooked. Rejected Child would love a Vargur skin o7
Great topic that’s not given enough attention because nobody wants to be “that guy”, but it’s so true. Corps promise the world and back but hardly ever deliver. It’s so bad, I interview the Corp recruiters before I join. I don’t want Corp to hold my hand but when you brag about 200-300 members and you can only see 3-5 members on at a time, that’s an issue. You move all the way to null sec after they said they have their very own mining division and discover they have been at war for a month and you CAN’T leave station let alone mine.
For sure an interesting topic and not something I had expected to find on your channel. Nevertheless, I fully support you in this one. A corp can make or break your enjoyment in the game. Given that EVE is a Sand Box, it's very important to set your own goals and work towards them. This will likely come with sufficient obstacles, no need to have more barriers forced upon you by others. Aside from this specific person, do hope your experience with the Eve meet-up was good. Before COVID I'd considered going to EVE Amsterdam, at this point I regret not joining. My objections were similar as you just stated. For a skin, I'll go with number 11, a.k.a. Megathron and wish for some luck here. Spectral Spectre
I joined what I’ve heard termed a place holder corp. Anyway the only thing they ever did was mine. Up all night mining ice and sometimes rocks. Do a payout. Then go away till next time. Nothing else. It got old. I worked all day, to come home to another job. No roams. War decs sometimes. Nobody online. Nobody doing anything. Ever. Just mining fleets. The ore was paid for. Suppose that was okay. However nothing built. I have no idea where it went. Got tired of corps.
Kyosho Loozing would like the Ferox or Megathron skin. Thanks and great content yet again. I have a suggestion for a video. I am getting into t2 industry for building things for Corp and Corp mates. I was wondering if you could do some sort of a step by step type vid on your progression of building a ship or module.
So inspireful video , Thanks mate ! ...but the dilema stays :( when you willing to try and push for more , and asking ,asking ,asking having your assets ready ...your mood is up and so far when knowliege and experience are on good level ,main accounts + alts not so skilled but does the job done , in end of the day i wished to build and see ..the Forbinden things ....superweapons and Titans ...they all sey > you need sovereign space/alliance , they'' will not allow you , you cant defend it .....ofc all true , but i wonder when someone will have obligations and more ++ from that , to use it after me or blap it .....and even to get kicked from your corp (reason to build Titan )i still iam proud from that corp becose ive get made and learned :). I was part of blackflag. Love the guys but I just cant sit and wait for targets anymore. Maybe I am not cut out for that type of game style. Now I hapilly run abyssals in my 1 man corp
Howdy, I think you've made a few good points about this players corporation but the approach of "the corp is there to serve you" is a perspective that is killing smaller corporations and benefitting larger, well-established groups. There has to be some sort of realization that "you reap what you sow". Many players expect the corporation to do everything for them while they reap all the benefits which only hurts EVE in the long run. I think people shouldn't stay in bad corps but they should also ask themselves what have they actually contributed to receive the benefits of being in that corp. With that said, most corps need their members to step up to run the corp, run the different programs in it and organize things. Things don't happen on their own.
Remember the first mining corp I joined as newbie. 50% tax supposedly for new projects/station builds. Guy also started asking for 50% of my exploration loot. Other corp members donated all of their pi. Total rip off, left and only in next corp realised this was not the norm. Good to see you back. Please may I have a leshak skin if you have one. Ign John Mark
I've been playing solo so long that I don't even know what I want out of a corp anymore. I've been in large and small corps, null sec alliances, everything; these days I do some exploring, some abyssals, and a bit of manufacturing. What would a corp really do for me?
a previous corp i was in got the taxes, mining resources by the boatload and a whole heap of blueprints researched from the small group of us in hi-sec then we got war-decced and the top br(asses) just done a runner with everything, closed the corp and left us high and dry. Makes you wonder why you put the effort in...

"Dont stay with Bad Corps". Yeeeh this pretty much the reason I stopped playin a few years ago. Just tired of the shitty attitudes and feeling forced to do things near daily I didnt have time for and then get bitched at for not doing. Had 3 accounts, each specialized in something: 1 Was a HUGE industrialist/miner, 1 was pure combat, 3rd was transport specialist/mining. Used to jump corp assets around, provided anything in Eve via industry from Drugs to Capital Ships and everything in between, and flew around in Black Ops looking for fights just for shits-n-giggles because I could afford to via being able to make anything. There may be good corps out there, I just got tired of moving all my Industrial base, ships, and all the shit that goes with it only to find out the Corp leader is a major asshat making stupid decisions time after time and then blaming it on members. So, instead of getting pissed off weekly over stupid people, I just stopped playing the game....but still have billions in ISK materials, ships, etc just sitting if I ever decide to come back for another go.
