"Now you have to swim back to land. Everything seems to be going smoothly until a huge weird looking black and white colored seal catches you and drags you underwater until you drown"
While I was working up on the slope a couple months ago we heard that the rangers saw a polar bear and 2 cubs get caught by a pod of killer whales, it was the craziest thing I’d ever heard
Orcas (mammal-hunting Atlantic population) are an invasive species in the Arctic: they don’t do well in sea ice, but global warming is taking care of that obstacle. Also, I really doubt a polar bear would think an orca is a seal, and the orcas currently invading the Arctic mostly eat other cetaceans (which is what that population traditionally eats in their usual Atlantic haunts).
I heard about you from Cas Geo and the dry way you deliver lines makes me feel calm and relaxed, oddly enough. I loved the sarcastic ending to the reindeer video.

I read recently how polar bears have evolved quite quickly (~250k years) from grizzlies, and are already quite different due to their diet and the amount of time they spend in the water (more than 50%) so I’m now convinced they’re becoming whales and I will not be convinced otherwise. Whale bears!!
If anything, wouldn't the bear version of spinosaurids be more accurate, as they are still very much semi-terrestrial? Similar to the fishing cat (although ofc in very different environments).
Loved the Polar Bear shimmy and the fact that you mentioned that interbreeding with brown bears. Would've been also cool to mention that sometimes you'll see a gaint submarine appear out of the ice and you'll try to eat it.
polar bears might be one of the biggest oddballs on this planet: they are the top predator of a marine eco system. yes they are a landbased dominator of a aquatic server.
iirc polar bears are one of the few animals that will actively chase down and eat humans. Likely due to the harshness of their life they can spend days hunting a meal.
Honestly when I watched you’re channel, I thought you were a big zoologist channel. But to my surprise, you’re under the radar! Just keep the videos up my friend, we’ll be watching. :)
Thank you for yet another great upload ~ I'm glad to have found your stuff and get to watch you grow and evolve as a content creator. I'll do my job and continue liking every one of your videos ~ Again thank you for your content
Great videos, I've binged all of them and love them ! You are one of the only channels I have now turned notifications on for. I enjoyed this video as well, but definitely missed the cut ins to actual footage of the animals ! I'd say especially when it's about cute animals like baby polar bears and seals, it should have a positive impact on viewer engagement and retention as well
Love these! Obviously this would be difficult due to a lack of research, but a video on the lifespan of something like a T-Rex would be really fun to watch!
My favorite polar bear behavior is an ambush technique they use on the sea ice. When waiting at a breathing hole they place a paw in front of their big black nose to camouflage it from seals.
Paused the video to give you props for knowing about the Kodiak bears but then heard "you have a 2 inch long" my mind said this can;t be right so I played a little more. Undercoat..., okay I understand.
Casual Geographic sent me here.
I love your little art animations.
Thank you!
Casual Geographic also sent me here and I love this channel already.😊
Ditto

Orca never kill what they don't eat and they are piky eater so no most likely
@@kadecase7470 If true, that would be the first account of killer whale predation on polar bear.

250k years was an old estimate from 2010. The most recent study from 2022 estimates polar bears split from brown bears more than a million years ago.

The fact that polar bears are better parents than the seals they feed on is.. certainly something.
