As a person with conductive hearing loss, these earbuds help me truly enjoy music. With bone conduction, the noise doesn’t have to go through my damaged ear drums. Thus the sound is crystal clear
I just bought a pair about 2 months ago for work. I work in a steel factory and these are the only headphones we are allowed to have because it still allows us to use safety ear plugs. Noise cancels out very well, battery life(I own the 10hr battery life pair)is awesome. I used them for yard work as well. I can get well over 100ft away from my phone without connection interference. I HIGHLY recommend getting a pair. In fact I talked a few coworkers into purchasing a pair and they love it just as much as myself. Great product, I’m very happy I found out about these.
seeing this comment just conned me into buying a pair of Pros. I work in a metal recycling yard/factory and I've come into the issue of needing ear plugs but still wanting to listen to music and also struggling to hear my two-way/radio as well. Thanks man.
I just came here to say that I forgot this channel existed until I saw another video discussing the irregularities around it (ie: viewbotting) and now I will forget it exists again.
I'm an avid cyclist and been using these same headphones for about 3 years and they are great! Simple to use one handed while on the bike so no need to stop n fiddle w ur phone or headset 🙂
I love the mini! It's more comfortable to wear as I'm a side-lying sleeper and I fall asleep to music or audiobook. The Open Run Pro was my first style, but it was too big to get comfy on the pillow at night.
Is it really bone conduction or just speakers close by to your ears just like hanging your headphones right beside your ear and get the same response the only difference is a mini motorized vibrator inside the headset that vibrates to the base response?? If it has 2 speakers on either sides then its not really a bone conduction right??
Thanks for reviewing the SHOKZ. I've been wearing them for years. I still have my first pair of Trekz Ti, and they continue to work! I have run thousands of mile in multiple versions of these. I am currently loving the Open Comm as they have a longer battery life and a boom mic. I find the control buttons on the Open Comm are more to my liking as well. I wear them all day. I wear them on the way to work, all day at work were I do Zoom and MS Teams calls several times each day. I run after work every day and lift with them every other day. They just ROCK. You'll never lose one in a seat cushion and they never fall off or fall out. They don't make you ears sweat either. They charge quickly too. I even ran a 100 mile ultra with three pairs. One on my ears and the other two around my neck. When one pair ran out of power, I just swapped them on my ears and was good to go. I only had to use 2 of the 3 pairs.
An impressive product. I have a Wissonly Hi Runner and a Shokz OpenRun Pro. Everything about Openrun Pro is great, with good sound quality and wearing experience, but its water resistance seems to be insufficient, which makes it only usable in very few scenarios. I bought a Wissonly headphone with a waterproof rating of IPX8, which can be used for running, swimming, cycling, hiking, and surfing. The sound quality and wearing experience were similar to Shokz's. Gradually, I used Hi Runner more.
I do have 2 of those already and both went back for warranty/refund after 1 year of use. why? because the rubbers covers loose their adhesive and become loose and let your sweat come in and finaly get into the electronics. yes it happened on both of my units.
I've always avoided standard earbuds because I hate not being aware of sounds around me. I really like my Shokz and use them all the time. They genuinely last 10 hours. Mine are the bigger size but still a bit too small for my overly large cranium.
I was using Aftershokz for a few years but I decided to give the Oladance a try and sound quality wise the Oladance are so much better you forget you're wearing them the wire in the back of the head ruins the Shockz for me and lack of bass
@@mrs.brightside check out the Oladance I have tried the Shockz and the Sony linkbuds both with the intention of listening to music plus allowing me to be aware of my surroundings. The Oladance beats them both on sound and comfort
As someone who has had these for over half a year, I still don't get where the "bone conduction" technology is. It sounds like a speaker just further from my ears, and yes, they sound better and louder if you just hover them above your ear opening. Nevertheless, they sound fine and I use them for everything and it's regular for me to not remember they're there. I just don't get what the bone conduction supposedly does.
Do this... Cover your ears or use ear plugs while using them. You'll see that you'll hear it louder. That's what bone conduction means, vibration still produces sound despite your ears being plugged.
hi, it seems that with my OpenRun Pro Mini, the "digital assistant" function triggers on my iPhone, but the mic on the OpenRun Pro Mini doesn't work with Siri.. it only works with the mic on my iPhone..

Bone conduction headphone is a gimmick. They are just a pair of small speakers comfortably placed next to your ears. How they work has nothing to do with your bones. I just bought Openrun Pro mini. I am 100% positive that they transmit sound just like any other speakers by air, because without touching my face, I can still hear my music perfectly with no distortion. Other than the gimmicky name. They are a very good idea when the environment you are in is almost quiet. I can wear them all day. And they don't fall off. Again, the big downside is that when you are in a slightly noisy environment such as a coffee shop, they become almost useless. You have to increase the volume to about 80% or higher in order to hear what you want to hear clearly. The microphone is pretty decent.
I don't think that's quite true, because I've seen comments from people with damaged eardrums claiming that they can hear clearly with these - and they can't with normal headphones.
@@calummckinney Have you actually tried it? The fact that I could hear my music over the air very clearly without any physical contact really made me doubt it.
If they are anything like the Trekz Titanium then they should be comfortable and light, just TRASH music quality. That’s the main reason I just got AirPods after the Shokz, transparency in those works great and it’s awesome to have more options
