You should try the IF22 instead. 4min in turbo instead of 2min. Longer range. Does have more visible circle though but considering your cons you should give it a try. You might prefer it
@@PiercingTheDarkness yeah C8+! My C8+ throws much further than the if22a I got. Great demo of the functionality but it’s the beam demonstrations that set this review apart from all others! Really shows what it can and can’t do on beam distance. Bought this after watching this. Keep up the good work *****
Thank you for the great beam shots in your video!! After watching I ordered one from Amazon. I subscribed to your channel as well. Been collecting torches for about 5 years now and videos like yours is how I make my decision to purchase them.
What imaginative and well done review! First drone footage of a flashlight review I've watched and it's amazing. This light is on its way but I'll be using a VTC6 instead.
I really like how the TIR beam looks, I've always hated the beam reflector-throwers produce... Also really like the UI, apart from the voltage-checking from Anduril this has all the features I regularly use! And nice that they begin to include powerbank functionality more often, this might seem like a good light to carry around in my backpack! Thanks for the great review!

Thank you. See my Sofirn C8L vid where I did the same. The Astrolux EC06 video with the drone beamshots are quite something as well. The drone is the only reason larger brands are starting to give me a chance without higher subs. I use the Sony A6500 with a Sigma 16mm F1.4 lens. I just recently purchased a DJI RSC2 Gimbal for walking around. Last week I purchased a Night Vision Scope for $1800 so I can start reviewing IR flashlights, next is a waterproof housing to review dive models. This hobby sure is starting to cost a lot! haha.
Nice drone footage! Your runtime looks much different than the measurements from others because of the missing cooling. The flashlight got and stayed so hot, even at the minimal regulation level, that it didn't start to ramp up except at the end when the power consumption was low enough due to the lower voltage.
@@PiercingTheDarkness Wonder, what the driver type, but perhaps if you use battery type that starts kickin' the current as voltage decrease, maybe the graph will display different curve.. i think its the tesla that have that kind of discharging character.. (and vtc6 if i remember correctly ASF Matt Smith once stated) Cheers☕
How you enjoying them? How's the heat and is there a way to use it without it scorching your hand? Having second thoughts about ordering after reading about the heat issue.
Forgot to add that the flashlight steps down at 55°C and hovers around 50°C. Parasitic drain peaks at 134μA. The tail spring isn't good enough and reduces the lumens by roughly 200
Nice.,.. However, I would like you to do a review of the newish Acebeam L19 2.0 version 2 in white LED because it has a wider beam and more power…. I have had the Acebeam L19 2.0 version 2 in my basket for a while and waiting for a decent review and beam shots….👍👍👍
nope, the EA01 has a single LED with a TIR optic, the EA01S has 4x LEDs with a reflector. If you're talking about the Mateminco MT01 being the Astrolux EA01, then yes, they're the same. Astrolux is a rebrand for banggood, Mateminco is the manufacturer.
👍🏼Good video mate!, been eyeing that IF sisters for a while.. seems i prefer the reflector though.. but the TIR also unique. love the ui, similar with SP35 sst40. And that c8+ convoy; that's sure a good value all round workhorse. About that 'drone' content; good to have distance shown from some heights👍🏼 but please dont get carried away with the 'pov' drone mounted footage mate, it will soon become pointless( at least for me, with such narrow beam pattern, and elevation) but... if in the next drone footage you include some shots, from not too high elevation, filming you throwing beam to an object, so we can see, analyze, or even admiring the beam pattern/shape in use from a different angle; that would be awesome. *just my two cents. Oh and Jacob, that stills with different luminosity level, and battery graph are very useful👌🏽 Cheers mate🍻
I agree, too much drone footage with the same beam profile would get repetitive, I'll only include it for select models. "good to have distance shown from some heights" This is where I can't fly any higher due to New Zealand law regarding night flying, my MF01S video was recorded before I knew any better. I don't quite understand the last part. Are you suggesting I use the drone to film myself using the flashlight on the ground? That would be different, but I'd not exactly want to fly it without a light attached. The camera on the drone isn't the greatest for capturing the full beam profile in a video, maybe as only a photo, but that could provide its own problems. I will see what it looks like from the air of me walking around shining it onto trees etc, never thought of that.
@@PiercingTheDarknessYes, filming you and the torch, [from some heights..] don't get me wrong mate.. the elevation i'm suggesting is lower than the one you have🙂, consider 6-8 meters elevation, with the drone stationary (easier to control perhaps) and at 20-30 meters ground distance max . since it has wide angle coverage, with not too far distance, and the reflection of the beam and spill to the ground /object still tolerable with the cam light sensor; that'll be sufficient 😀
@@relayerrelayer8226 the beam would be overexposed then, suppose I could alter the settings. A bit too scary flying low since I could hit trees, plus the beam would be much narrower and worse off than what's shown. Thanks for the suggestions though
@@relayerrelayer8226 ah, stationary. Missed that part. We'll see, since the flashlight isn't on a gimbal it'll move around terribly if it's stationary. Check out my C8+ test flight to see what I mean
