I always liked how he never beat around the bush about how he feels about a game. Just a normal guy who has thoughts but not overly analytical

But this statement is wrong for the same reasons that old school music elitists are wrong when they say modern music is trash. You really just have to find the genuine good stuff. And given the increased popularity of TH-cam as a platform, there’s way more of it to discover.

Why do people say that GTA IV is a bad game? It's NOT, this game brought something completely new to the table. Vehicle physics, rag-doll system, gunplay improved, multiplayer, graphics, an awesome city, airport, etc. Just cos GTA 5 came out doesn't mean that GTA IV is bad. At that time, I remember this game being one of the best and a Must Buy game, similar to GTA 5. This game was mind blowing at that time. Legendary game, love it...

The only things I have to complain about is how bad it is trying to drive and how slow niko can be. Other wise that it's an alright game.
because the gameplay feel boring, you enter to the airport and the police kill you, that doesnt happen with the old GTAs, the driving feel more like a boat than a car, the camera and sensibility sucked
not to mention that the PC port is dreadful

In a way, I both love and hate this game.
At the time, it looks impressive and I like the attention to detail.
However, the story missions (in the first act anyway) felt kinda boring, the driving was icy, and it lacks several vehicles and weapons from Vice City and San Andreas. Not to mention all the elitist fanboys who keep praising this game and dismissing all the other games.

Damn I love this game. Its honestly one of the greatest games ever made. Period.
one of the best games ever made(like all gta games), masterful city design, fantastic epic atmosphere, great radio stations, best physics/vehicular mayhem in the series, best airport in gta series, great story and main character, nextgen shock value, fixed past gta shooting, just an amazing game, i give it a 9.6 to 9.7 out of 10
About to be 12 years old in about a month damn has time passed by quickly.
I undoubtedly invested an immeasurable amount of hours into this game. GTA V on the other hand, is collecting dust in comparison.

GTAV is better in so many ways, yet 4 ends up being more fun to play somehow....the re creation of new york is amazing, but i really do like the improved controls in 5
GTA 4 is my favorite in the series. Had the best story and characters. Driving was okay, but the fighting and shooting was much more realistic than 5's. Plus it was the first GTA I played when it came out, I was 13, oops, but I still love it, plus the decisions to choose which characters to off plus the execution styles

It's just not as fun... many videos explain why. A major one is the physics. The reasons why they abandoned the Euphoria engine for something sub par is beyond me. It really took a lot away from the game.

The best thing about GTA 4 is that they finally improve the gun play controls, no more locking on to you’re enemies with RT or R2 and shooting enemies with circle or the B button, but the controls in all the GTA games in the early 2000’s were awful.
this game is almost 4 years old and I'm still playing it every week. there is a TON of missions to do.

The vice city story was good,but 4 had a more realistic and deep story.But the best GTA of all time is San Andreas.

Dont wanna make fun of your taste bra, but GTA 4 is a horrible game, physics, story, characters, music and the city are just ugly in comparison to GTA 5, gta 4 was bad in 2008 and is even worse now, it also was the most disliked GTA on all Consoles.
It was so overhyped prior to release, advertised everywhere, people in the industry and developers alike: "it's greatest game ever to be made, everybody like it", that it only further exposed how mediocre it was.
GTA IV was undersold and was loved as far as I can recall. Personally I had more fun playing it than the latest game.
Explained me how gta 4 was better other than it having a better storyline.
james duke You hit a taxi with a bus in GTA 4, and it feels like you actually hit something other than a brick fucking wall, which it feels like in GTA 5. Casioo24's point about the game having bad physics is just completely wrong, invalid, and ignorant, the ragdoll, driving, and shooting in this game is far better than in 5,. I want to remind both of you idiots (You're not the idiot Jay) that without this game (which debuted the RAGE engine, one of the engines used in 5), GTA 5 would not have been anyway near as good as it is, this game was great then, and still holds up well under today's standards, and besides, LOYAL members of the GTA series are never really the one's bitching about this game, it's almost ALWAYS the outsiders who haven't played the series beyond GTA Vice City (I've been playing the series since GTA 2... Maybe London, can't remember which one). The story, characters, and map are exactly what they should be. GTA 4's game only takes place in 1 city, GTA 5's game takes place in a whole fucking state (minus the start, and the part where Michael goes to meet Trevor at the graveyard), that right there would most likely be the only reason GTA 5's map is better, because a simple city vs city comparison, I'd bet Liberty City would beat the hell out of Los Santos.
Looking down at the clock now, I see that I spent 10 minutes typing this... and at this rate, I will have to do it again.
hunterb89 I respect your opinion but the ragdoll in gta 5 is much more realistic than in gta 4 and so is the shooting all of it is improved btw i like gta 4 i was just asking how gta 4 is better and you dont have to call me an idiot for asking you a question.

The intro sequence with Queen's One Vision in the background is awesome. It could really be enough to showcase the entire GTA 4 experience:-) very well done, and i've already said that but i just say it one more time you are the best reviewer around and the funniest, by far:-))
This guys correct. Iron Eagle is such an underrated movie and the part when they play that queen song is badass. Hell the whole movie is awesome. Masters Of The Universe is another awesome movie

Gta IV nailed the environment , I live in Nyc and the city isn't all that colorful . Which is why i can understand why Liberty City was particularly gray . I like GTA 5 better though mostly because of the online and fact that you can create your own character
But when it comes down to it GTA:SA is the greatest gta to date imo and my all time favorite .
SSJ4BLINK182FAN I live in Northern NJ and how they recreated Alderney City amazes me. Alderney is a mix of Newark, Fort Lee, and Franklin Lakes.
I love this game so much.. it's a awesome stress reliever. Just the graphics are just so amazing. Looks amazing on a 65inch 1080p plasma. I can't wait for GTA5, that's going to be insane.
GTA VI going to be even insanely.

When gta4 came out everyone was bitching about the driving now that 5 came out everyone is saying how it was better. People just always like to say the earlier game was better that's like the cool thing to do it seems. When six comes out, damnit 5 was better in one tiny way FUCK

I hated the extremely scripted missions and the game was realistic enough for me to not want to kill people. But hey at least it had an interesting story and great music!

+No. I agree there may be more good songs in earlier GTA's but GTA 4's music is way better than GTA 5. I've been playing a ton of GTA 5 and it's music isn't bad but the radio in 4 is most definitely better than 5 in my opinion.

GTA IV was my least favorite, to me it just felt like meaningless filler with not many story, GTA SA I feel has the best message and story of all of them, and it's pretty.

I remember playing this at my friends house and love playing this game. I just got it off ebay and it has been 4 years since I played it. I don't care if you say its old and wait for GTA V. But hey old games can still be just as fun.

A lot of people really didn't seem to like this game. I loved it. It was near perfection. It had a good story, awesome gunplay and dare I say it... good driving. Yup, I liked the driving too. Not only that, but a great variety of side quest and activities was another thing that made this game amazing. This is one of my fav sandbox games ever!

No doubt one of my most favorite games ever! Not because of the shooting, but because of all the stuff you are able to do apart from the story missions.
Crashing a car into everything on your path until is starts to burn, and then explodes while setting surrounding cars on fire as well and makes them explode too...'breathe'... never gets old. :D

You're not alone! I play Gran Turismo a lot and GTA IV is the only sandbox game i feel has ever gotten close to the driving sim games.

And they actually did a much better job with explaining Niko then they EVER did in any other GTA, all you hear about in SA is Carl is a former gang member trying to reclaim that honor... Niko, a Serbian (confirmed Serbian) fought in a war, worked with a bad mafia guy (Mr Bulgarin), and is now on a hunt for the guy that betrayed his squad, to find out Darko, was the one. Hardly any character in GTA 4 "dull", they all have their own personalities, like drug dealers tend to be happy... Etc.
GTA 3- Started it all.
GTA VC-Airplanes, Motorcycles, and kick ass music.
GTA SA-Everything got bigger.
GTA 4-Gunplay fixed and multiplayer.
GTA 5-Multi-character switching.

Great game one of the games I’m playing a lot of now next to halo 3 and cod 4
it was because the current console generation was young and this was such a jump from the old games graphically. also the physics being much more advanced. those things combined just got people excited. honestly i love this game and wasnt disappointed by it. (then again i love everything rockstar touches) xD but i get how people were disappointed. less to do and such. looks like V is gonna bring back most of SA's features though!

my favourite missions in this game are the early ones as there usally the most fun esspally when your just getting used to the controls, it makes great use of tension

I LOVE GTA IV, its my favorite game of all time, but I really hope the next GTA is back in the best location for any GTA game, San Andreas
the radio, is apart the sense of humor he mentioned, they say crazy stuff to make you laugh lol
I do give Rockstar credit in the graphics and physics. All I wanted in the game (Nike story) more stuff to do in singleplayer, some more weapons, cars, and more stuff to spend the money you make in the game on other stuff than food and ammo.

I know that almost everybody hates GTA4, but Rockstar tried to do something other then massive chaos and large map to explore. They tried (and succeeded) to create a new engine, new story, and overall different game from the past GTAs, they changed it for the better. Yes, it may not be as large as GTA Sand Andreas, but that wasn't there goal in making GTA4.
@Tozzywozzy I would've agree with nearly every other new sequel/game, but GTA IV, I think it doesn't disgrace the series at all. Even if it's quite different than those older GTAs. Only thing I would complain is that those classic GTA cars, like comet and banshee, doesn't have the same design at all as in older GTAs. I think GTA IV is a bit better than San Andreas, but Vice City is still the number 1!

if you speak only on the humor side, maybe. my favorite was and is sanandreas, but gta iv made huge step forward from it, and make everything different, and i love it. old days is over, and new systems available, so after couple years people will say the same about GTA IV and V. We are going towards the future and there's nothing you can do about it. This is the new, look of series like it or not.

i fucking loved the driving physics of this game.
As a PC gamer, I can tell ya.. You'll be impressed with how it runs on console. Don't starve yourself of GTAV. It's really awesome. First time I've played my ps3 for this long in a lonnnng time.
0:55 the white bus is just waiting... you are crashing into it with full speed.... and the driver of the truck is flying out the windscreen.... for sure... xD
The music @ 0:07 reminds me of the song in Bronson.
