After Niko loses his wife, you can just see how hurt he is, how he doesn’t really know how to go forward. When Roman dies in the Deal ending you can see the anger, but it’s just genuine sadness in the Revenge ending. GTA IV is really the only GTA game with real people that you can sympathize with, Niko especially.

Ryder being portrayed as an antagonist in GTA San Andreas was a poorly executed move made by Rockstar since Ryder was never meant to betray the crew in the early beta stages of the game. And Ryder never showed signs of his betrayal unlike Smoke with the exception of “whatever you say fool. You don’t know what’s going on” in Robbing Uncle Sam. Which means he’s working with Smoke only because he was threatened but can’t reveal that because rule of the streets, don’t snitch. That and because Smoke would ice him if he told CJ and Sweet. And in Smoke’s Missions, you do nothing that benefits Grove Street. His missions only benefit himself and CRASH, but in Ryder’s Missions, they all benefit Grove like in Ryder, he attacked the pizza parlor since they ruined GSF’s graffiti and in the three other missions, they steal crates of guns so GSF could get better guns and it works so Ryder cares about Grove Street. And Ryder was never meant to be in The Green Sabre since NO ONE noticed or even MENTIONED him. CJ was surprised to see him with the Loco Syndicate in Photo Opportunity which he was with them btw because Smoke forced him to. And he got killed off in a hurry in Pier 69 rather than animating a cutscene like Big Smoke. I gotta guess that they had no need for Ryder anymore or maybe Rockstar had a dispute with MC Eiht and killed off Ryder to be done with him. So therefore, making Ryder an antagonist is a poor move. They should’ve either sent him away to rehab or kill him off in the Green Sabre as a loyal defending gang member and NOT have him in Big Smoke’s betrayal cutscene. And yes Big Smoke IS an actual antagonist. Not really Ryder though. Ryder IS an antagonist but should not be one. (Credit to ItsKevinGaming, I learned all this info from him lmao but really, it’s true)

Ryder became my favorite character the day my folks first purchased this game. I just don't understand why they couldn't have Ryder get in a crazy shootout, wounded, then cj drives him to get help. I heard rockstar just didn't know what to do with him after that shootout with the cops
LSTORM The MC yeah true. It would have been awesome if he stuck with CJ and Sweet at the end of the game and got sent to rehab by the time CJ was in San Fierro, working for Toreno and in Las Venturas with Woozie.
The only plausible explanation for Ryder's random betrayal and sudden anticlimatic death is probably because of legal issues with the voice actor. His final recorded lines are from Reuniting the Families, after that they just re-use old assets of lines for him.

They were revealed as villains in mission no. 27, and there's 100 missions in GTA SA.
Sad to say because both of these characters betrayed Carl in the mission the Green Sabre, CJ and Cesar saw Ryder And Big Smoke became villains like Tenpenny. they ended up being villains and antagonists.

Faustin is not really an antagonist, he never turned on Niko, it was Dimitri that deserved to die
DonNiksy Faustin was crazy though he was an angry cocaine addicted who used to abuse of his wife while cheating on her, he made niko kill his daughter's boyfriend and even admitted that he didn't care about her feelings, also during the game he killed people and asked niko to kill people for him like they were nothing, he shot roman in the stomach just to shut him up and was willing to let niko die in a garage explosion just to destroy one of his rival's business activity. Dimitri was actually right in wanting to kill him in that part of the game, Faustin was out of control and had to be stopped. The wrong thing Dimitri did was using Niko to kill Faustin just to sell him out to Bulgarin, one second later, proving that he was just as bad as Faustin and even more since he was a traitor too.
Faustin never meant to explode Niko in that garage, he told him that the truck was full of explosives. However he didn't really care if Niko died though.

It’s crazy remembering playing San Andreas thinking the graphics were outta this world. It was literally like Boyz N The Hood and Training day all in one game. What a legendary gaming experience.

One thing i always hated about Vice City was how Rockstar turned Vic, who was an absolute badass in Vice City Stories, into a minor character and killed him off in the third cutscene of the game. I also hate Lance: this guy is nothing but trouble. He is an immature crybaby, always acting without thinking (like when he tried to kill Diaz himself and got captured and almost killed by his men if Tommy didn't come and save him). He's also selfish(in Vice City Stories, when Louise died, he says that "family is more important", which is himself). He also seeks undeserved recognition from Tommy and when he doesn't give it to him, he betrays him to Sonny.
I think they should've kept Vic alive and killed Lance instead. It would add another layer to his already great character and make it stronger, since now he would have his love interest and brother gone. Vic would never act on impulse like Lance did and he would also never betray him. He would have been a great ally for Tommy.

Vice city came out 3 to 4 years before Vice City Stories. They probably decided to create lcs and vcs long after Vice City came out (for the Sony PSP). They even didn't use the same voice actor which they did with Tony Cipriani (or he at least had a very similar voice).

I think it's a little a sad that GTA IV is so underrated, It was the first GTA game that had that revolutionary engine that made GTA V what it is today. The hot dogs, the parkings, the stores, the phone, and even the weapon wheel we're all introduced here ❤
The bugs when it came out was crazy. It didint helped that rockstar tried to fight cracked version with the drunk camera, and that launcher was horrible..
GTA4 and it’s DLC where a MILLION times better than GTA5. Everything was more realistic and had a cooler story
I hate how 5 doesn't have fail phone calls and cutscenes, just a mission failed screen. This is my favorite GTA for a number of reasons. 1. It was the first in HD and a huge leap in terms of that from San Andreas. 2. It was the first I played when it came out. 3. An engaging storyline that I think is more memorable than 5’s. 4. Funny and interesting characters! Roman is my favorite and I actually like the bowling! 5. Better fighting and shooting mechanics than 5. It seems in 5, you shoot them twice and they die, in 4, it’s more of an effort. 6. Damage when you’re driving, much more detail than 5. 7. Finally a cover system! 8. I felt that your choices actually carried weight in the game and the choice between killing one character or the other was significant. 9. I love the different cutscenes and calls you get if you fail a mission and the calls to Roman after a certain mission for his thoughts on it.
My favorite GTAs in order and why.
1. GTA 4.
2. The Ballad of Gay Tony - A much more colorful version of Liberty City and the nightlife experience.
3. San Andreas - The most customizable GTA to date with your clothes, tattoos, haircuts, eating. It’s basically GTA Tamagotchi simulator tbh.
4. Vice City - Tommy is a funny character at times even though he’s a remorseless psychopath! Probably the best soundtrack in the series with many classic 1980’s hits. Basically a better version of Scarface the game mixed with Miami Vice.
5. The Lost and Damned - I couldn’t get into the biker aspect. Dark, dreary, and plenty of heavy metal didn’t appeal to me.
6. GTA 3 - Good Lord. 1. You hit one curb and you immediately flip upside. 2. Driving mechanics are very wonky. 3. The gangs. If you do missions for the gangs in 3, by the end of the game, 7 out of 9 hate you and will shoot you on sight. 4. Some missions are very difficult. I.e. The coffee mission. 5. The game shows you no mercy, ever. Saving is probably the most important key in any of the GTA games, but in this one, it’s number one! Because the game will try to turn you upside down and fuck you in the ass each time it gets!

GTA 4 was a dull gray piece of shit with a story as boring as it's characters. All of them are assholes, or complete idiots. Often both. I can't feel empathy for a character if I want to shoot him in the face five minutes after he appeared on the screen.
And driving (which was always huge part of fun in GTA) in 4 was just frustrating - cars felt like boats and bikes felt like you were driving on ice.

yeah it could’ve used a lot of tweaking but it just felt better. It looked more grimy and realistic, better shooting, better blood effects, better crash physics, better fighting, more side things to do in campaign, better story. Things went from realistic story in GTA4 to Hollywood movie in GTA5 where everything’s over saturated with color and there’s flying bikes and cars. I prefer the grimy realistic GTA over the saints row version haha
