My housemate and I bought our first pumpkins this year for Halloween (we live in Australia). I didn't realise you need special tools to make carving pumpkins easier. So freaking hard carving while trying not to stab yourself with kitchen knives.
I am also not a scary movie fan. But those are the cutest pumpkins!

I feel the same Claudia!!!!!!! My mom (who's retired and lives with me) is Obsessed with murder shows and movies and I just can't do them. There's so much everyday sadness and horror I don't want to see it in my entertainment as well. #YayImNotAlone

Every year for Halloween, my mom would make baked pumpkin seeds. I would always take them to school to share with my friends and it was just a rather wonderful time.

Jessica, hope this is okay to ask but I'm just wondering of the implications of using your wheelchair when you have a palsy? It struck me because you were using such strength from your wrists/arms to wheel along.

Are there ever times when you're out in your wheelchair and feel the need to stand because it would be easier in a particular circumstance but don't out of fear that those around who don't know about your different conditions might think you're faking or don't need it? (I over think a lot and this came to mind)
So sorry for my ignorant question but I couldn't stop wondering throughout the whole video, if Jessica is deaf how can she 'understand' or 'hear' her wife when she speaks without reading her lips? I'm just extremely curious, I hope I don't offend anyone

Hi, I have a couple of videos about my deafness plus a playlist about it and deafness in general. Deafness comes in different levels so not all deaf people will have the same presentation, especially when the person has become deaf post-childhood. I have a lot of tricks that I use to function in daily life but you've made me think that maybe I shouldn't leave all of the miscommunication parts on the cutting room floor! 😄

I watched one of the movies and all it did was disgust me, I was not in the least scared and it just weirded me out. I do appreciate psycho horror, though. Once... a year or so. :D

I'm totally with Claudia on the movie thing! I'm not a fan of being scared. Tho, I'll watch movies that are in the horror category if the story is intriguing and they're really not that scary... Like I watched the Underworld movies and Blade movies, and I enjoy Ninth Gate (that one is a bit scary) and Constantine. But anything that's just a bunch of cheap scares or doesn't have a good story line is not something I enjoy.
I quite liked that autumnal theme Claudia had going on. But both were lovely.

i agree with claudia completely on her hatred of scary things, we have enough of that in real life, but i thought i was alone! also i was so proud of myself for managing a somewhat even face on my pumpkin with my minimal spoons but jessica yours is AMAZING 😱

4:14 I feel the same about crime/police novels and movies/series; at least the serious, "realistic" depressing stuff like *ALL* scandinavian crime dramas. I don't want to watch or read about horrible and realistic made up stuff. I also don't like most horror stuff, not because it scares me but because it's boring and/or disgusting. If I'm going to watch something brutal and bloody, I'd rather watch something based on real life like "Narcos" because then at least I learn some history.
I also stopped watching news on TV, it just makes me depressed. Now I get all my news from reading online newspapers, and indirectly from watching satire programmes. =)

Torture porn 👎👎 but a good silly horror movie (silly as in they make silly decisions that you can tell at the screen for) I find is good entertainment, and I find them much easier to watch than biopics for example as they're so far removed from reality that I can just sit back and enjoy them, rather than get overly involved about and stress over the happenings in the characters life.
Or a good mystery horror.
