That's literally the only upside to it because it's rally potential us garbage and it's damage is hindered by its speed unless you untrick for the speed boost but then it nullifies the range benefit
Sharif Gardo Good question. At my high level id probably do enough damage even to his head, without really building up the meter. The cane I’m using is broken - I broke a whole bunch of pots and stuff with it until it’s durability was shot - so it does almost no damage, plus the serrated edges of the whip build up the meter fairly quickly. She keeps backing away which pisses me off but I do think it’s a faster way.
lol, ng7 is really tought, you have max defence and 99vit, and even that 2 hits of any boss= die, that is with 1900hp, then with normal bl80-bl100 build with 40vit that is one-shot everywhere xDDDDD as the weapon itselft, is a good weapon, but transformed mode is slow as hell, much slower than threaded cane, but of course better range and all-blunt attacks
Another okay place to farm is the way to Mergo’s Wet Nurse. Start from Mergo’s Loft 2 (I believe it’s called that. It’s the lantern that is across the bridge that forms after you’ve killed Mensis.) and make your way through all the multi-eyed pigs and Yharnam spirits. You can make 100k plus blood echos.
Alex van der Plas You can go with physical gems but all of its attacks in both forms deal blunt damage, none are thrust, so I believe this is the best set up.
Sorry for delay in response but yes my best set up was 2 blunt gems with attack up vs open foes secondary bonus and 1 physical gem also with attack up vs open foes.
I wish for an official PC port one day instead of the PSNow version that doesn't let me get any of the cool DLC weapons. Sony please for Halloween this year add the Old Hunters to PSNow update: Got a job and a PS4 and this weapon has become my absolute favorite in the entire game.
This comment is approaching on being a year old but I just felt like giving my opinion lmao. For me, the best PvE weapons would have to be Beast Cutter, Saw Spear, Whirligig, Church Pick, and the Holy Moonlight mostly for its ranged arcane waves on the charged R2s that have niche but powerful uses. When it comes to my personal favorite weapons for PvE I'd say Beast Cutter and Church Pick simply because I find that while the Whirligig is great, it's a very popular weapon and can get boring. For PvP I really like the Beasthunter Saif as well as the Bloodletter and Rakuyo
@@keretaman Saw Spear and Saw Cleaver are probably some of the best weapons in nearly all departments and can be easily handled. They both have serration which is already a huge bonus in Bloodborne, but the spear is better because it has serration in both forms and the trick form has thrust in its moveset, thus boosting visceral damage. Adding to that, both weapons can be buffed with papers and converted on arc builds, they also build beasthood incredibly fast with transform attacks. Overall it's just an unassuming yet ridiculous weapon. I try not to use it because I find it very boring but its extremely powerful.
Why is my phys attack 222 and yours is 246 and my blunt dmg is 501 and yours is 507. I have a 31.2% blunt gem and as well as a 28% blunt gem with a 25.3% phys gem while you have ones that give a smaller boost. Am I missing something? I would think my beast cutter would be higher but it isn’t
@@christophermorrissey3798 I mean on the weapon itself. I don’t think the weapon stats change depending on your level. I don’t know if you understand but I mean like when you go into the inventory and look at the blunt and phys attack there. I’m lvl 310 with 50 across all attack related stats (except arcane thats at 80). I know when looking at the stats you’ll have higher attack but looking at the weapon itself I would expect mine to have more blunt and phys since I have better gems. I suppose it is also counting the open foe attack as well then
@@ThatsOk83 Pretty sure character stats are reflected in those numbers, so the difference between 50-99 (though there are significant diminishing returns and you would be giving up any kind of meta level matching) would account for the difference in the weapon attack stats. Of course it would be nice if From had explained exactly how its calculations worked.
Yeah it’s the 7th play through, or what Dark Souls 3 would call Journey 7. However the popular abbreviation in the souls/BB community is NG+7 because apparently people have trouble counting zero as an integer. Since it would likely result in the most search results I decided to stick with “NG+7” even though it is a misnomer. (As an aside I believe different Fromsoft games have had different max difficulty play throughs, which only adds to the confusion.) In any event, it’s the highest difficulty.
Torch is for aesthetics only- lighting and atmosphere. I typically don’t use a gun because I like the challenge of not parrying. The purpose of these runs is to highlight the main weapon. But yeah you can do crazy bloodtinge damage with those firearms at max level.

Stinkyfumes31 Thanks. Definitely not my idea, can’t take credit for it, but I use the SBB every time I fight them now.
Jesus the range is outrageous

It deals the worst damage type (blunt) but at least it's exclusively that type.
Finally, a decent gameplay without ONLY parry
Yeah, always a video a showcasing a weapon with visceral lol
the best weapon for me......
I feel personally attacked by that Threaded Cane footage
My favorite weapon. I just love brutal the transform attack into whip mode feels.
Love the old hunter look. They are badass
Thank you so much man i finally found the best gems set
I use beast cutter all the time it's good to see someone using it
I wish the game would let us scream like the old hunters did
Wee have a mod
I still have the game but never completed everything thing to do in its very hard to play especially the bosses
Just bought old hunters and got this weapon, I fucking love it
11:11 Why changed to cane? you could just go punch his face to build beast meter as he wouldn't teleport.
