I have never been a fan of Malibu`s until the 2008 model came out, and each year the style gets better. I have a 2010 Chevy Impala(love it) but I am interested in a smaller car and I am looking at the new Malibu`s and love the what I call "lipstick red" color. I like my GM vehicles, yes they did suck over the years but they have step their game up in style. All of my co-workers &friends with the imports have had more problems with their cars than I have with my Chevy. One co-worker has an Audi which she bought new and has had to take it to the shop for everything. My friend bought a new KIA had it 3 months and the engine blew up, and so did my Boss Nissan Altima...WTH. another co worker with her Camry which the trans was slipping. The only car I have not heard having problems much is Honda`s and the down side of that is I don't like Honda`s
I got this exact model, except without the sunroof and backup camera and that horrible seat color scheme. Mine is straight Black on black and I like it. Very comfortable ride. The MPG is not as advertised, but its better than what my 2006 Monte Carlo was getting. When you drive 100 miles a day round trip to work and back, even getting 28 MPG helps keep gas costs down. For a 4 cylinder, its got pretty good pick up. My drive is 98% highway and I have a lot of hills and inclines I drive on and the car doesn't struggle to make it over them. I've driven other 4 cylinders that struggle up a tiny hill. The car wont win you any drag races, but it you want good fuel economy and comfortable drive, i would recommend it. I'm 6'3" 300 lbs and I fit very comfortable in it. Im sure the new ones are just as good or better.
Then you dont have the same model stupid ass... I have the same model inside and out .. O wait with the sunroof and back up cam lmao o wait is yours a ltz or just a lt lmao
I just rented a 2014 Malibu LTZ. I was impressed by the trunk space, the front seat adjustments and the ride quality. But, the engine sounds like a hamster running on a wheel. And... when driving in heavy traffic on the interstate, the transmission can't decide which gear to be in. Lots of power lag.
Pretty good review although this guy is one of those reviewers who can't navigate that fine line between reviewing the car in general and not injecting his "personal" likes and dislikes. We get it. You prefer a more conservative dashboard. That's fine but as a pro reviewer, to stoop to silly criticisms like calling it a Jr Executive of a Pimp mobile because you think the dash is too flashy is just absurd for a pro review. Grow up. We also have the reviewer that criticizes the car for being everything the car company actually advertises it to be. Yes, it's a family grocery grabber car or a standard highway traveler with standard responsiveness while driving. Did they advertise it as being a Porsche? Again, I didn't hate the review. Injecting personal tastes and trashing an item because it's different from personal tastes is a no-no. Also, criticizing a family sedan for being a family sedan is pointless. Other than that it's fine.
I recently bought a 2014 Malibu. It is less than a month old and it is already acting up. I took it to a GM dealer today because after the car has been sitting for a while and I shift from P into R or D it makes a CLANK noise from the front end and it can be felt through the floorboard. Then as I accelerate slowly when starting off around 5 MPH the car will sputter and lurch until I accelerate faster, the service tech that rode with me noticed the noise and the sputtering and even commented that he felt and heard them too......the GM dealer had it in their shop for 3 hours only to determine that nothing is wrong it is normal to do that.
Is it me or does the guy in the video complain a bit too much? I was enjoying the information about the car but I could not take more than 2 minuets. He was getting on my nerves.
overall, nice, but there is room for improvement. I do agree with most reviews of this vehicle, however I still believe that most people are a bit condescending when it comes to the attention to details, which GM is actually getting better and better at.
i own my chevy malibu since 2017 with 5 years warranty, now the problem is head lamp licker come out and when havy ranning some times water go inside, already visit to SC provided but the respond is no warranty, know who can answer to me why no warranty because the car free modified, free accident
People are so brainwashed....I have this car and I love it...I traded my problematic 2011 Audi A6 for it...in life all cars do the same shit...take u where u need to go...
He compares things to Audi because Audis usually have advanced tech and prefers them over other car techs. It is just a preference and hey, people compare things to the iPhone all the time.
can somebody tell me why wood seems always fake on GM cars . i dont know ,but it seems to me the wood i see in Mercedes for example is not the same as those used in GM cars. In canada Malibu LTZ cost 38k and Mercedes class C 250 full loaded 44k. In term of durability im not sure about GM ?!
Why pay 32k for this when you can get a 3.5 SL Altima for the same price. With that comes proper manual shift-ability via paddle shifters, and no tacky ass chrome and blue stitching. It also looks more refined.
Oh, I can't believe this car can even go above $33,000 I'm sure with the 2 LTZ You'd be looking close to $35K for that money you could but 3 Nissan Versa's and take a cruise with the change.
Oh of course, check my channel. Lol. Thats hella good for a FWD car, of any type. being a Honda (Doesn't surprise me) but surprises others that it was even possible. especially when the new V6 makes a few lb-ft less than last one, but weighs less, feature TRUE VTEC and makes a few more ponies while getting 3 more MPG's across the board. The car is lighter, but damn (5.6 w/ manual) (5.9 w/ auto) sec 0-60 is good for FWD. The Acura TL SH-AWD manual hits 60 in just 5.4sec, but weighs more.
Acura TSX is heavier and Faster with a less torquE engine and a 5AT. (K24-- 201HP and 172lb-ft, Maliboo-- 197HP and 191lb-ft) Plus the Chevy had DI and the Acura has FI. Just to show. Shows just how powerful VTEC still is and how well Honda engineering is. Even the new Accord with 185hp and 181lb-ft on the 2.4L DI K24W hits 60 in 7.6 with a CVT. MaliBOO take Camry and Accord sales..? Pft. maybe Camry, not Accord.
That was in 2009 when they bought those cars. This is 2012 and they are still outselling Toyota worldwide. And how many times have Toyota been bailed out by their government?? I'll give you a hint. Its been more than once and it was before that Tsunami.
Ford and Chevy need stop doing that little un-involving shift tab on the gearbox lol If they think paddle shift is a bit too much for family car, at least throw in a slap stick. It is becoming rather mainstream & standard these days...
This is the LTZ, but the title says XLT.. Oh well. Still GM. When can we expect YOU and only YOU to review the 2013 Honda Accord (Coupe and/ or sedan)??
I hate when American auto manufacturers focus primarily on exterior and center stack design, and slack on important things such as improving handling or performance and overall drive feel. Stop trying to blind us with chrome and new tail lights and make a car that actually drives well.
Its like I said. Toyota have been bailed out more than once. But all hell breaks loose because GM has been bailed out. All of this is irrelevant anyway because its not stopping them from improving the quality of their products.
You're complaining about the look of the car yet you're wearing a denim shirt :/
Stunnedstudios yeah but he can change that :/
😂
He just hates Chevy's as you can tell from previous videos...
I have a 2009 LTZ and I absolutely love it!!! Thinking of upgrading to this one...
I have never been a fan of Malibu`s until the 2008 model came out, and each year the style gets better. Did he just say switch panels on the wheels....dude your driving a 2013 chevy Malibu not a damn lambo ..
I'm currently driving this for a rental car. I LOVE THIS CAR! It's the LTZ Eco trim.
When will you guys review the Fusion, specifically the hybrid... it'd be nice to see a comparison between that and the camry hybrid
"The answer shouldn't be yes" LMAO
Lmaooo
good suggestion, I just sat in one for the first time the other day.. such a nice car!
i have 2013 ltz its amazing car

When would they ever review for the 2013 Altima
No one is bailing them out anymore. They are the top selling manufacturer worldwide today.
brian please review the new chevy spark & the new altima & accord
can we get a review for the 2012 camry SE?
just thought of buying this car and this guy is bringing wrinkles on my father's dream of getting his dream fulfilled of owning a car
I recently bought a 2014 Malibu. It is less than a month old and it is already acting up. I have a 2013 1LTZ and I don’t have push to start or a backup camera 🤔🤔
When are you gonna do the new accord
Everyone that does a review on a car automatically should get back handed for being so biased
Dear CNET, why you are not posting more car tech videos ????
Why does it say XLT in the title when it's a LTZ in the video?
got the 2014 malibu dont have nothing bad to say about it
I love car honestly
any word of reviewing the 2014 malibu?
We need a 2013 ford fusion video!
Is it me or does the guy in the video complain a bit too much? I was enjoying the information about the car but I could not take more than 2 minuets. He was getting on my nerves.
+wildstar43 He telling it like it is.
wildstar43 he must be mad Chevy creates nice vehicles! 😽
Como hacer el cambo de utomatico a estandar de un biuck verano 2012
well at least you can hide your gun or drugs behind the lcd screen - looks like the best feature on the car
Sport from Taxi Driver would feel right at home in this vehicle.
Please do the new Accord
You will surely love it, Brain!! =]
@cnettv will go guys do the Kia soul? No good tech reviews yet! Please! :)
please review the new ford fusion!!!! thanks!
overall, nice, but there is room for improvement. I do agree with most reviews of this vehicle, however I still believe that most people are a bit condescending when it comes to the attention to details, which GM is actually getting better and better at.
The LTZ has actually a turbocharged 2.0L engine producing 259 hp
I hope so .
i own my chevy malibu since 2017 with 5 years warranty, now the problem is head lamp licker come out and when havy ranning some times water go inside, already visit to SC provided but the respond is no warranty, know who can answer to me why no warranty because the car free modified, free accident
Audi's are basically leaders in tech and have gorgeous designs. If you don't like it, hahaha, too bad.
22/34 for a 4cyl 2013 car? My 2005 Honda Accord EX-L V6 with Nav get 21/30.
I like the music
its nine speakers of awesome
The center stack looks like it was taken from the last generation Lexus ES...
My 2005 Honda Accord EX-L V6 with Navigation get 21/30 comparing to this 2013 4cly does only 23/34 = fail.
you said ltz is it XLT OR LTZ
He always seems annoyed haha.
People are so brainwashed....I have this car and I love it...I traded my problematic 2011 Audi A6 for it...in life all cars do the same shit...take u where u need to go...
Too much chrome? Never heard anyone complain about it looking too nice besides this guy...
He compares things to Audi because Audis usually have advanced tech and prefers them over other car techs. It is just a preference and hey, people compare things to the iPhone all the time.
"Unless you're really lonely and wanna' have someone to talk to"
This is why I love this guy's reviews! XD
can somebody tell me why wood seems always fake on GM cars . i dont know ,but it seems to me the wood i see in Mercedes for example is not the same as those used in GM cars. In canada Malibu LTZ cost 38k and Mercedes class C 250 full loaded 44k.

ya, a focus st

OKAY ITS COOLEY, I'LL KEEP WATCHING...
Oh, I can't believe this car can even go above $33,000 I'm sure with the 2 LTZ You'd be looking close to $35K for that money you could but 3 Nissan Versa's and take a cruise with the change.
Junior Executive...in the pimp industry...XD
you said brain, its brian
I said the exact same thing about the interior... tone down the damn chrome, jesus lol.
Ahh the Chevy T-Mobile
Oh of course, check my channel. Lol. It's upgraded version of aveo
I’m putting a turbo on mine
Tell Em Why You Mad Son!!! LOL

Fancy car with lots of specs yeah! But tell us about the reliability which it doesn't have as Japanese ones haha
I thought XLT was a Ford trim level.
they already did...
Junior Exec in the Pimp Insdustry ...lol
didn't sound like it from the review...
Is there a car, under 30k, that this guy actually likes?
Ltz.
video is labeled malibu xlt - its malibu ltz; its a chevy not a ford suv for the 90's. fail.
That was in 2009 when they bought those cars. This is 2012 and they are still outselling Toyota worldwide. And how many times have Toyota been bailed out by their government?? I'll give you a hint. Its been more than once and it was before that Tsunami.
I Think he would prefer Brian instead of brain
Hi
Ford and Chevy need stop doing that little un-involving shift tab on the gearbox lol
If they think paddle shift is a bit too much for family car, at least throw in a slap stick.
It is becoming rather mainstream & standard these days...
Haha, you didn't even drive the 2013 Malibu yet. Did you?
👍
Yeah, keep thinking that. There are many nicer sedans to be had under $30K IMO. But hey, whatever makes you happy.
since when did Chevy borrow the word xlt from Ford its ltz
This is the LTZ, but the title says XLT..
Oh well. Still GM. When can we expect YOU and only YOU to review the 2013 Honda Accord (Coupe and/ or sedan)??
I don't think Chevy has an XLT trim. That would be Ford.
That interior really is over-done.
I rather get a ford fusion or a honda accord
Stop comparing it to the Audi , i mean COME ON !!!
I agree with Cooley, GM needs to cool it with the chrome. To me, it makes a car look and feel tacky and cheap.
I hate when American auto manufacturers focus primarily on exterior and center stack design, and slack on important things such as improving handling or performance and overall drive feel. Stop trying to blind us with chrome and new tail lights and make a car that actually drives well.
It's quality car, i think it 's better than Camry.
Guy who titled the video slightly dyslectic LTZ not XLT
Its like I said. Toyota have been bailed out more than once. But all hell breaks loose because GM has been bailed out. All of this is irrelevant anyway because its not stopping them from improving the quality of their products.
Grocery getter Lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
nice on the outside... WTF on the inside!
All I hear is a bunch of bla bla bla.
Yep! It does have that Lexus look to it...
epa rates ur car at 19/27
Did you hear about the 2013 Accord V6 278Hp 0-60 time? It's 5.9 seconds.
197 HP? slower than my tundra!
Hahaha. I hope you've gotten smarter in 7 years.
The reviewer seems easily annoyed.
What I'm saying is that this car (My car) can't be compared to Audi's cars since this one is crap for Audi :)
Chevy still needs some improvments to fight against the asians and europeans
