    Thank You for posting this Vicki! I especially loved your "It was a Pain in the Ass" comments! Last but not least, I surely do wish I had the super speed mode you displayed during all of the wrenching operations! Reminded me of the 6 Million Dollar Man and Bionic Woman Days! :-) Anyway, changing the tank on my Beta 350RR tonight and I surely did appreciate the way you explained all of this. Cheers to Pioneers! 🍻

    Great video! Does anyone know if this tank will fit 2018+ BETA 390RR?

    Hi there... did you have any trouble priming the fuel system???.... I've just done the same thing... but for some reason there is no fuel getting through... what did you do... most people have told me you just hold the starter down and it should fire up after a couple of presses...

      I had no trouble at all starting it up. I didn't have to prime it. There was fuel in the tubes already, so it wasn't bone dry. When I removed the gas tank, I just shut it off from the valve. When I installed the new tank, plug it all in, and snap on the value to make everything flow again. Did you make sure you completely snapped in the connector and turned on the valve? It would click into place.

      Well I feel a bit silly but I got to the bottom of the problem... initially I thought it was a loose wire... as you know you have to wrestle with the fuel lines... so I checked the voltage... it was fine... I pulled it all apart and filled the lines and fuel filter... still nothing.
      Then it dawned on me to check the voltage to the fuel pump with the starter button held on... as the starter will activate the ignition circuit... headlight etc... there you have it... the fuel pump was getting a peak of 4 volts
      Solution... charge your battery!!!! After a good charge it fired almost straight away... no priming needed... wasted half a day trying to work that out... hence the silly part...
      So if you do this conversation make sure you have a charged battery... lesion learned...
      Thanks for the reply vicki... keep riding and make videos 👍

    Great video - thanks. Question - did you need to use that special yellow fuel connection tool?

    • @vickip

      Thank you for the comment. Yes, I did need to use that special yellow tool. It helps disconnect the lines from the pump. The yellow tool was included with my new gas tank.

      Ahh gotcha, for the pump, inside the tank. Thank you very much and great job!

    Great video. Appreciate your sharing this with us. How many miles can you travel on the three-gallon tank? Have you established the bike's MPG consumption rate?

    • @vickip
      @vickip  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would imagine about 120 miles for the 3-gallon...but I have only had time to ride the bike once or twice since I installed the tank, and I've never ran it dry...so I'm not sure. With the stock tank, I think I was near 80 miles, but I didn't run it all the way dry. Based on other owners of 3-gal tank, due to the tank sensor's location, it will give you a false read on the reserve tank if you have the 3 or 4 gallon tank installed. So look at your trip miles and check the inside of your tank for fuel status once in a while.

    You should use loctite on all your screws.
