Did you torque that clutch nut afterwards? Is the clutch holding tool available ? And is it a beta specific tool? Thank you for this video. And all of your videos !
Hi Jared, thank you for this video, it'sclear and simple explained. I have an old 2012 RR 350, i will check this out for the oil pump, can i follow your vid for the freewheel too? The elecric starter does not start the engine anymore . thank you for your job
Thanks for your videos. This is really helpful in assessing when and if I will replace the gears on my 21' 500 rrs. On a tangential note, if I install the kickstart on an EFI four stroke, will it still need 11 v in the battery to start? My bike went completely dead right as I was going over a log and left me stranded 4 miles from the truck. I didn't miss a kickstarter until that moment.
The kick start kit will always help when the electric start system fails. Like if the fuse blows, switch fails or the e-start motor quits working. The only side note is that the 4 stroke EFI bikes still need a pretty good battery to run. The bikes will "run" if the battery is weak. So if you are 4 miles from home I think a failing battery would get you home with a kick start kit and then you can replace the battery before the next ride. Thanks for watching and the comment, Jared!
Glad you caught it, feel free to ask questions any time! Also, if you are looking for Beta parts/ Accessories we offer discounts & free shipping depending on the order size. All Beta orders that are placed through our dealership are drop shipped directly from the Beta USA warehouse to your doorstep! Enjoy the ride, Jared
Good Morning and thanks for watching! We have sold so many Betas that have 100's of hours on them and they never get this kit and the bikes are always fine. But, like anything there are always upgrades and we will do them! Enjoy the ride, Jared
Good stuff, I just did mine a few days ago on the 390. One question, do the orientation of the notches on the outer fingers matter? I did note the inner and outer plates with the blue markings but didn't orientate the fibers in any specific manner in relation to the outer notches. Thanks, great channel.
Good Afternoon, thanks for the comment! No it does not matter on the clutch plate orientation between the outer basket arms. Thanks for watching, Jared
If your bike was starting to get time on it (above 80 hours) its not a bad idea to perform this upgrade kit. It's more of a piece of mind knowing this wont be an issue for you. Thanks for watching, Jared
We have been a Beta dealer since 2011 and have never seen a bike fail due to the gears breaking. However, we have seen them pretty worn in the past on bikes that have quite a bit of time on them. If you were building a bike for the long haul I would consider it. Also, if you are in need of Beta parts give me a shout we offer discounts on OEM Beta parts/ accessories! Thanks, Jared
@@stevenbrowne116 , I'd like to know the age, mileage and hours on the bikes with worn out gears! Then I could make a better decision on changing mine if ever buying a 4 stroke.
doesn the motocool just raises the boiling point or does it too makes a better heat exchange, so bike runs cooler ? Is it antifreeze too and if so to what minus temp. Last question ; can it be mixed with water in case of ? ( distilled of course) thanks
Good evening! We enjoy the motocool and has never let us down. I do not know the sience behind it other than it passes the field test! I would not mix it with water before a race but to get out of the woods I would! Enjoy the ride, Jared
Good Evening, that is unfortunate and most likely a full tear down... that requires the engine cases to be split to get to the transmission. We have had full engines apart but not as often on the 4 strokes. Thanks, Jared
I think the plastic gears are plenty strong and we have never had one fail, but with anything if we are given an opportunity to upgrade it we will! Thanks for watching, Jared
Thanks for watching our video! Good question, I would always recommend filling the engine side to 750cc (for this model) but we have always ran more oil in the gear side, with a bit more oil it helps reduce heat in the clutch. In the older bikes (12-14ish) I had been told from the race department they would run a full quart in the gear side. Thanks, Jared
Thanks for the reply and that’s good to know , I think my problem is when I start getting past to balance point it runs up the breather and into my airbox. Any tips to get it to stop coming out the breather on wheelie ? Maybe a catch can I guess lol
Good Afternoon, no we have not. The stock gears hold up well. I would recommend replacing them on the older bikes. Even if you went the stock plastic gears again. Thanks, Jared
@@dznnf7 , I am happy for you, that was a smart move! About how many miles were on it, and what kind of riding? Several of us are wondering when to start checking.
@@dznnf7 , that sucks! I hope Beta at least gave you a replacement kit. That is unacceptable, obviously they should switch to steel gears and put an end to the issue.
Good Morning and thanks for checking out our channel! Honestly in our 13 years as being a dealer we have never seen a bike fail because of these gears. The plastic gears do just fine but some of us enjoy making the bike as "bullet proof" as possible. Enjoy the ride, Jared
Thanks 3 Seas for excellent quality video!
You would think for what the bikes cost the steel gears would come as standard equipment.
everything beta sells on their website is over priced. They sell their toolkit for around $75 and they aren't worth $15!

Hopefully newer models come with steel gears to avoid having to do this.

neden bu dişliyi metal olanla değiştiriyorsunuz ? ..ne avantajı var..? plastik dişli sorun mu çıkarıyor..?
hi how the feedback for now ? is it still running good >? i wonder why bike manufacturer use resin/nlyon gear as standard...?
At what milage do you recomend changing them....?
Does these steel oil pump gears increase betas engine vibrations ?
Did you actually torque the clutch nut or was the impact "good enough"?
Honestly the impact is enough as you end up with the tabbed washer being bent over on two tabs. Enjoy The Ride, Jared
Beautiful
For the price of the bike, steel gears should be standard.. I don't get that.. anyway fantastic video..

Why would someone need to do this upgrade? Or is it basically needed on all Beta bike's from the get go as they come with plastic gears stock?

back on topic, my clutch disks don't have no more blue prints.. any way to identify them ? (of course , I mixed all ;) )
