SImply stunning, its big and bad but elegantly understated and the trains just seem to float seamlessly through the sky. I love theming but i really love it when its done well not screaming"RIDE ME !!' but a sexy " ya know ya wanna ride this " and it just looks like it belongs. Great video

One of my favourite coasters. The 'ejector' hill didn't really do much for me, but the camelback after the first drop was incredible. My bum was off the seat for 6 seconds :O
Floater air = so underrated by so many enthusiasts.

COASTER BOT that's a park issue, not a ride specific issue. Shambhala ops varied between fast and could be better. They should be really quick though because the style of restraint used does not require a lot of time to check.
When I visited, it wasn't the slowness of the operators that killed Shambhala. It was the fact that they only ran one train.
Oh my god, just stop everyone. There is way too many people that have not been to PA that say this crap. The operations were not even that bad in the slightest... Just first experience it yourself before believing everyone.
@A Shambolic Enthusiast Aight well fair enough for me then. Ive got friends that did say it was alright after visiting over a 100 times. Theres for sure better parks not gonna lie, but nonetheless shitting them down so much is not necessary.
Back in 2013 it was obvious that they were pushing you towards buying the fast pass by running all coasters way under capacity. 3h queues with trains sitting on the storage track. Of course that was a long time ago, so I can't tell how it has changed.
Portaventura is my most favourite theme park I’ve ever been to
finally rode this yesterday! i love hyper coasters, they might be my favorite coaster type, and this one didn't fail to deliver. it was amazing, i think i'll forever remember my first ride on the second row, it was exhilarating. i loved it so much i rode it about 8 or 9 times in the day!
Fab review Taylor - you're truly doing the ride justice! I particularly enjoy the editing, and loved how you're including a wide variety of shots, angles and distances, all with the right timing. That must have taken hours to film, and I much admire the dedication to do so!

With Furius Baco being quite rough I got on this as a small child with little to no roller coaster experience, fearing the pain and not wanting to ride at all. I was overjoyed when I rode it, and proceeded to lap it like 10 times. This will always be my favourite coaster - so many memories; it was also the last one I have ever been afraid to go on.

This is my favourite rollercoaster ever. I love it so much. I rode it ten times in a row just in one day. It is insane. Really glad you loved it too.
On my 9th ride on this majestic coaster i discovered that neither front nor back row are to prefer: it's (as i later that day found out) the middle three rows that deliver perfectly even floater airtime from when the front goes over the peak to when you hit the foot of the airtime hill - making it my number one credit so far. What a ride!

I went to spain over christmas and got to go here - I loved it. This was only my second hyper after Titan at Six Flags Over Texas.
I'm visiting next year and this is the ride I am most looking forward to. Right now I haven't been on a coaster taller than The Big One in Blackpool so I am very excited about this.

Really like this coaster. Since im from europe, I havent been on any other b&m hypers, but I absolutely loved it, and it was surprisingly forceful. Also, its absolutely beautiful to look at.

I absolutely love Shambhala, and I'm lucky that It's at my home park! Although I prefer inversions rather than airtime (yep, I prefer Dragon Khan, that has 8 inversions, more than any in the US until Steel Curtain comes), Shambhala is awesome.
I also prefer Shambhala's splashdown rather than Diamondback's because in Shambhala you can feel and see the water in all the seats. In Diamondback you only see the water looking backwards and only the back rows feel it. What I like about Diamondback's splashdown is that It's more impressive when you see it and you're not riding it.
I never got to ride Dragon Khan when I visited the park but luckily Alton Towers is my home park and I can ride The Smiler - it has 14 inversions!

First it was intimidator then it was behemoth then mako now Shambhala they have all been his fav b&m hyper at a point🤣 and also Taylor didn’t u say behemoth have a strong ending with the helix and ejector hills?

As for Taylor’s evolving on his favorite B&M hyper:

@@StamfordBridge I know that, but I've never been on Behemoth. I can guarantee Shambhala is better than Mako and Intrimidator. Behemoth doesn't look that good but tou don't know untill you ride it I suppose.
The Lord I’ve been on almost all the North American B&M hypers now, and for me the top two (not counting gigas) are 1. Behemoth and 2. Mako. But, yes, from the looks of it, the stats, and the reputation, I would anticipate that Shambhala is currently the best of them all. Looking forward to riding it.

Amazing how its still the 4th tallest B&M. Suprised it hasnt been beat being honest. Still fantastic airtime, and good gs over that figure 8. Just amazing. The open trains too ohh yes.
I rode this and I agree with any word you said on the video. I'm giving it 10/10 like you. It is an incredible ride and I suggest everyone to come to PortAventura specially for this ride (BTW I liked all the roller coasters in this park)

I loooooove B&M Hypers, I've only ridden two so far (Goliath at La Ronde & Silver Star at Europa Park) but I can safely say it's my favorite kind of coaster, at least before I get to experience more types! I'm going to Barcelona for a week with some friends this summer, I'll try to negociate a trip to PortAventura just cause I want to ride Shambala so bad.

I rode this coaster 30 times in one week, I basically rode it, went back into the fastpass queue (an essential if you want to marathon this) and rode it again, I actually got a few night rides on it as well, which was really fun, there are a few things I didn't like, like how when I was there the ride ops stapled you about 70% of the time and the fact that the sun gets in your eyes on the lift hill (I didn't have sunglasses and if I did I wouldn't ride with them on) as well as the loud screaming girls, which about 99% I had to ride with because I was a single rider, this was probably to increase capacity but it was annoying as hell.

Great coaster. I found red force and furious baco to be more intense though they were very short.
I’ve ridden every b&m hyper except the new one at happy valley Beijing and Shambhala is the goat. My 2nd favourite hyper overall after DC Rivals.
Crazy that he went to Europe about 6 months ago and is only getting to the stuff he did there until the past 2 or 3 months

This sounds awesome! I have no problem with floater. I consider it to be the classic type of airtime that everyone can enjoy. If I were going to introduce someone to airtime I’d take them on something like Nitro or Steel Force. But ejector is for the true thrill seekers and enthusiasts. If you like more intense rides then ejector is the way to go. I’ve only ridden 2 or 3 rides with ejector if you count I305 and I prefer it to floater. But I do love a good B and M hyper.
Taylor, the drop and the height are switched: 249ft of height, 256ft of drop (with the tunnel)

Nice review I've wanted to ride this coaster ever since it opened phenomenal I love the layout lack of Trims and seems like a really fast are time filled ride with a unique layout. Shame it's in Spain because you're right most B&M Hyper's are disappointing Nitro used to be phenomenal but I noticed a few years ago it started to ride kind of crappy. And I always heard that Diamondback at Kings Island was one of the best B&M Hyper's but I found it pretty lackluster.

joey demartyn not true lol. I've actually had the same favorite hyper coaster for quite a while, and it isn't a B&M hyper. This is a B&M hyper located on the other side of the world from me, so of course it's new to me and I was excited to ride it! I don't think i'll have a new fav B&M hyper for a while.
Sometimes it interacts with Dragon Khan, which is great when you're on either ride
so wait... you went to Spain?! lucky you!!!!!! either way hope you had (or are having if you are still in spain) fun at port ventura. you should review hang time at knotts berry farm if you haven't already.

Hope you'll do Dragon Khan too. I'm interested in how it stacks up against Kumba (since they're compareable in that they were built only a few years apart, old school B&M sitdown loopers ftw!)
I think Kumba is way better, Dragon Khan has a pretty large rattle, not very rerideable in my opinion.
@@deloron8813 I rode neither one but riding Dragon Khan before Kumba is much more likely for me (Spain being much nearer to Germany)

Quick correction, your height and drop are written backwards. It dives slightly lower down than ground level on the first drop.
The Himalayas is a great theme for a Hyper Coaster
This is, by far, my favourite coaster i've ridden (although my coaster count is pretty low at 57). But i don't think that any other coaster could top this, except for Taron. It shall be decided next week :)

Short version: yes.
Long version: i more than doubled my coaster count this year. And Shambhala is now „only“ on the 5th place. On number 4 is Der Schwur des Kärnan, 3rd Place Taron, 2nd Expedition GeForce and first place is Untamed. But Shambhala is an awesome coaster nonetheless!
@@TedsCoasterChannel oh haven't ridden shambhala and untamed but the other ones I have. I have Kärnan at 1, taron at 2 and Geforce at 3.

Just been on Geforce today and it changed my Top 3 drastically. I had it on the 6th spot before, but the airtime today was outstanding, by far the best and most sustained airtime in Germany. This is why i have it on the second spot now. But it’s very close to Taron.

I'm a big fan of B&M hyper coasters, and I really do like B&M coasters in general, so I would definitely enjoy this one, if I get the chance to ride other B&M hypers around the world.
