Yup, mating, no attack. Good timing, and good operator skills when moving drone to the clear view position without loosing the subject and quality of the footage. We need more operators with good skills to share quality footage. Thanks.
Wow. You need to change the title of this video. Its much more amazing that you had the opportunity to observe and film the black tip reefs sharks mating habits vs. An (attack) this is nat geo type stuff
When I first realized the sharks were mating then I thought, "oh the drones gonna get attacked" and when that didn't happen it made me realize the sharks are having all the fun during this quarantine.
Good job being at the right place at the right time. I am going to say it was mating behavior as well. They do like it rough don't they... The fact you caught it via drone was again good timing. Probably don't see this too often but good job. Beautiful beach too...
I was thinking that the prey looked like another shark and was nearly as big as the predator. Now I read that this was 2 sharks mating! NOW it makes sense!
That is correct my dear, the male has a fin like appendage he rolls into a tube, whilst upside down. The female swims over to the male and reverses onto his Gonopodium for the delivery of his sperm, sprog, cum, whatever you like to call it my queen.
Yea but it is those sharks matting season so the male sharks testosterone levels makeing them more aggressive and it is not there fault it is just the way they are wired so if some one down there got into the water and was attacked it is there fault not the sharks
These are black tip sharks that are not dangerous and have a small size. Maldives is also known for the Nurse Sharks, 3 times the size of these and even more friendly...
@@robwall5530 Those in Sharm El-Sheikh in 2010 were Oceanic White Tips and a Mako. The one in 2023 was a Tiger. Black Tips and especially Nurses are of no threat to humans.
Please, the title of this shows extreme ignorance. These sharks are mating. Remember, humans kill 80,000,000 of them each year, and sharks kill 7-9 humans each year.
This reminds me of floating on a floaty raft about that far from shore in Jamaica when something hit me from underneath with major force. I looked around because I thought my husband was slamming under my raft trying to scare me but he was chilling on the beach.... I jump off that thing so fast, leaving the raft and hauled ass back to land.... everyone on the beach was looking at me like I was crazy!... LOL:)
I’ve been in the water at Summer Island Maldives with these type of sharks and they’re no threat to humans at all. There were three of them and I looked at them and they looked at me! They never came that close to me and eventually just swam slowly away.
The bird at the edge: "What are they...ohhhh no, oh no!...what are you...!!!....[watches the whole thing in shock]....!!!!....How do you dare!!!!....What a show to give, and in public!!!!.....Oh yeah, swim away now like you've done nothing, you pack of shameless, degenerate.....FISH!!!!"
all these comments about changing the title..not everyone is a shark expert like you guys..i can certainly see why it would look like an attack. why dont you guys go comment on all the big youtuber clickbaits and tell them to change their titles?
No, they don’t care about swimmers. They’ll usually avoid you. I’ve had some flex on me while spearfishing though...it’s only spooky when they come from behind or the side, or follow you to the surface. They’re insanely quick and can dart in, turn away, then spin around and come at you (and your fish) again. When they come in, they cover their eyes with a nictitating membrane to protect it, which means for a moment they’re not looking, so they might hit you with an open mouth. Sea lions do the same thing. Outside the US, going to a doctor can be a real experience. Besides the pain, stitches, scarring, no more swimming (even in the resort pool or hot tub since you have an open wound)...you have a real concern: bacteria. Ask any surfer who travels, and they’ll tell you that hitting a reef is probably worse (and more likely) than a shark situation.
It is not a shark attack, it's sharks mating. Male shark biting fin of female shark to get it in submission & position etc while other male sharks are trying as well. Shark mating could get messy. #schooled
One looks like a blacktip the rest small Bull sharks which are clearly darker in color I dont think this was mating , in beginning it was biting shark on stomach , during mating they bite near Gills and back of head
And this is why I don't drink water, fish F$@*k in it. And the poor bird on the shore is now thinking "I have to walk in that spermy cess pool to eat now".
Was I just was recommended shark porn.😀

I was waiting for the drone being destroyed by a shark attack, and there were only sharks having sex. Good quality video, though.

It has its just filled with black tip reef sharks xD
It's a drone, "It can be right over the action, birds eye view," they said...

That wasn’t a shark attack that was shark mating behavior
The water is so clear it’s amazing. I can’t believe how close the sharks 🦈 were to the beach.
They are black tip reef sharks, it’s common

Good footage of that mating ritual though.
Black tips and bullsharks dont breed,
That's really it is !

@Deb long I think what he meant was black tips and bullsharks don't breed with each other.
Jake Heke is a tool
2 harmless black-tipped reef sharks. They're everywhere in the Maldives and beautiful to swim with.
Should have changed the title to: “Shark Orgy in the Maldives.” I was expecting a great white to eat your drone.
Baby Shark, " Daddy, why are you hurting mummy? ".....
Dad Shark, " I'm not son....CLOSE the f'ing door........."

Great job obtaining the footage!
Black tips / reef sharks gettin it on. Saw this every morning when I was in the Maldives. Common occurrence in this beautiful part of the world!

Totally misread the title. Was expecting a Killer Shark and an Attack Drone battling it out..
Wow! Are they attacking one another?
Am I the only one who was hearing a sarcastic mental soundtrack of “Jaws”, complete with a couple of giggles?
Maldives Killer Shark HankyPanky Drone Footage ..

Looked like mating behavior. Not an attack. Pretty cool and even more rare to catch on camera.
what is mating?
Clearly this isn't an attack just some waves being made haha.

Are these bull sharks?
Super close to shore.
This is their home, they can do whatever they want. Its the human that should stay away.

The sharks are completely harmless, no need for either to stay away

Whats unusual is they are inside the reef barrier.
