A Brazilian listening an German Osquestra playing a Russian composer writing a commentary in English... There's a place without banners, without borders.. This place Is called MUSIC
Greetings from Germany. I love your comment! This is globalisation from the humanist and most loveliest kind. Enjoy your day.
Well, I'm an Australian (in Melbourne) and while I'm very proud of our orchestra, I think this orchestra is among the very best in the world. I wish I could hear them live, but thoroughly enjoy their very frequent TH-cam postings (not only performed, but also recorded with the highest quality). I almost shudder to think that, when I was very young, our countries were at war. The foibles of humanity. Your comment is spot on.
You can say what you want about the interpretation, or, for example, the tempi, but the quality of orchestral playing here is simply magnificent!
The camera people are brilliant in following this music and all the instruments. I have seldom seen a consert better filmed than this. Bravo!
Agreed! All too often the conductor, soloist(s), and orchestra members are praised, but the excellent work of the camera crew goes unacknowledged. Some other venues also have excellent camera crews - the Concertgebouw, for example. We take it so much for granted when watching many videos that it jolts us when excellent performances are captured with only one fixed camera, which all too often gives us a view of the conductor's back.
Urbanski is one of my favorite conductores these days. The perfect combination of passion, rigour and charisma. And when I met him after an unforgettable Shostakovich 5 he was really kind! Stunning Tchaikovsky with one of Europe’s most wonderful orchestras!!!
Aááá
Truly electrifying! This Orchestra is becoming one of my favorite performing groups. All is so clear and precise. Bravo!
First movement sometimes a bit fast , but each of us has his own taste, second movement outstanding!!! Best permormance ever heard!!!
45:06 had me rollin 😂😂 Iconic moment fs
Same 😭😭 he’s like I couldn’t make them sound like this this is all them
Sharp!!!! hr-Sinfoniekonzert one the best orchestras around. Awesome interpretation from FL, USA!!
How many times have I already listened to this rendition? I dont know. Sometimes I think it is a symphonie for the bassoon, then for the oboe, then for the flute or for the clarinet. The only thing I know is that Tschaikowsky had a wonderful gift to lift up all the instruments in an orchestra in full sight. Something that the cameras in this uptaking fully understand. The result is splendid. Together with this wonderful orchestra and Krzysztof Urbanski this turns out to be the best interpretation of this 4:th Symphony I ever heard. Thank you all so much!
Fantastic performance! I was ecstatic watching and listening. Bravo! 🌹🌹🌹
Great that we can follow the ovations after this fantastic consert, celebrating all musicians!
45:06 Brilliant reaction. Truly a special moment.
Great style of conducting in the end, beautiful!
I agree, but still I find a little bit of a posing manner in his conducting.

Great work, but if you want me to click on every moment in this schedule I believe my total experience of this music is damaged. But if you want me to study every detail in this music you have a point.
Thanks.
During, but mostly after his catastrophic and short marriage to Antonia Milyukova Tschaikowsky wrote this music. It tells us about destiny, dreams, longings, but also about sorrow and a hopeless situation. We dont need to know his biography to love this music, but maybe it helps us a little bit. Wonderful playing from hr-Sinfonieorchester under Krzysztof Urbanski!
Excellent performance of one of my very favorite symphonies. I really appreciated the clear dynamic contrast within each movement, something that is not always so clear to me in other performances. A good performance of this symphony should be nothing less than thrilling, and this performance delivers. Bravo!
Actually that’s pretty standard. Similar to Scheherazade mvt 2 bassoon and many others.
Fantastic, and points to the cameraman.
*I appreciate the versatility of classical music. Whether you're studying, relaxing, or seeking inspiration, there's always a perfect piece to match the moment. 📚💭🎵*
My humble opinion is that studying to this music is a waste to the study, but most of all to the music.
And if you ask WHY? my answer is: this music needs full attention. You cannot study and listen at the same time.
Just listened to this like half an hour ago on Spotify ... I don't mind doing it again here
Thank you for posting this in its entirety...well done as usual. Good to see another young conductor doing well.
One of the greatest symphonies ever composed.
A roller coaster of emotions !
And of course one of my favorites.
Blazingly fast Tempi-- Wow!!! The best Symphony Orchestra on the planet bar none
Thank you from Canada. Really great to see the involvement of a fine orchestra in a fine performance.
Krzysztof Urbański does very well here ! Not to speak of the orchestra, which is amazing. The conductor shows real affinity to this music with flexible tempi. This reminds me of a reading by Marek Janowski in Berlin 20 years ago. Janowski loved a brisk pace, maybe more forceful than Urbański.
He has a very odd way of conducting. but I accept it, specially without sheet music. Like if he trust in the musicians, 100%, you can specially see it in the end.
How much you are missed at ISO. I was so privileged to work with you here.
This music is truly a work of art!
Die Ovationen sind absolut verdient! Was für eine tolle Darbietung!
Super!!!!!!!!!!😊
C'est vraiment magnifique. Incroyable.
Fremragende.
Do Brasil, 8: 30 p.m. Excelente performance , belíssima.
Concordo!
I count myself as a Tchaik fan, but can find the 4th uniquely grating among his symphonies- frankly among anyone's symphonies. KU's legato-laden management of the first movement here is superb, sewing all the crescendos into a whole of natural momentum where the drama does not overwhelm the feeling that we have not yet reached the end. This manner is evident even among the soloists (14:10). Really, I can't think of another performance I've liked any better for making this music sound cohesive (and grim!). As usual, the hrSinf sounds fantastic.
I can see how reactions could vary on some aspects of tempi - this would be one of the longer Tchai 4ths, at about 48min, with some at only 40 minutes, simply too fast.
[At this point may I explain: We watch on a 9ft / 230cm screen in darkened room, with high quality multi-channel Dolby Atmos (simulated) audio (not bragging, just illustrating that we see/hear under close to optimum technical and psychological conditions) thrilled that we're able to sit back in a simulated concert-hall experience - as close as we can get to "being there"]
Wow, having, apologetically, got that out of the way: At the first (mildly) unusual tempo I wondered, until it launched into the next section, and suddenly it made sense. And further on, similarly, throughout the work. By the conclusion, I found that, finally, we ere hearing a much more dramatic, yet much more expressive and more sensitive, 4th, elevating it up at least, to stand beside the reputation of the 5th, but not quite the artistic and creative genius of the 6th - although I would dearly love to hear that latter work from this orchestra and this conductor.
Einfach wunderbar!
Bravo. I really like the way the orchestra is film. Great close up shots.
Magnifique interprétation 🤩🤩🤩!
Masterpiece of music.
The level of greatness of this video cannot be expressed through words ❤❤❤❤ bravo
Phenomenal performance! Thank you so much for great music!
Very unusual choice of tempi. But this orchestra can play anything whether it’s way to slow…mvt2…or crazy fast…mvt 4.
Fantastico Urbanski,bravi. tutti.
Always felt this symphony pairs favourably with Mendelssohn's own 4th 'Italian' symphony.
Excellent !
Big wow. Spectacular.
Great piccolo performance!
Bravo!
Thanks for sharing
Great !
Very Nice!
Simply Stunning!’ 💙🙏
Fantastico.! Grazie.
Wunderbar! Fantastisch Konzert!
slow and delicate, really fresh
What a performance!
🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆♥️
the tempo is slightly slower than what I like I dont feel the angst and anxeity of Tchaikovsky in the first movement.. but that being said.. excceptional performance per usual!
45:06 I love it how he just takes his foot off the accelerator and lets the orchestra roll downhill on its own momentum. Fun!
5:04 5:45 10:20 32:51 for clarinet reference.
21:08
I like the conductor's stage presence and interpretation, I just find him slightly hard to follow since he keeps his baton at an upward pointing angle.
29:14 Bassoon solo
❤

Kitűnő előadás!
We miss the maestro here in Indianapolis Indiana

The young sergie clibidache.. The slow clear tempi to show up every note !
Sergiu Celibidache
@@mymusic-321 no problem
Did you listen right to the end? The last movement is blazingly fast.
@@dorette-hi4j OK .. Thanks
As always the orchestra (and the production) are sparkling. I have to say however that the first movement lacked the 'con anima' for me - the generally slow tempo seemed to somehow nullify the tension; lethargic even. Meh, aesthetic preference perhaps, but it does need the 'anima'!!
To put it more bluntly the firsr movement was bland to the point of boredom and lacked any kind of tension. Another example, I'm afraid, of a young conductor striving to be original and reinvent the wheel.

How can Russian music be distorted in this way??? The inventor!
No offence...: Why is a conductor really needed? I mean, while practicing your part (doesn´t matter which instrument you do play) you know very well when it´s your turn to kick in. Your sheets tell you everything else you need to know. Am I missing something vital to his part? o.0 Is the conductor some kind of relic from the past?
I think it's a little bit more complex than that... You're not wrong about every musician (ideally) knowing their Part and the music, but still the Orchestra's Work is to portrait the interpretation and the Vision of the conductor. He's the one connecting his and every musicians mind.
The conductor rehearses the orchestra and is responsible for the interpretation. It wouldn't work if all musicians played according to their own interpretation, that would just be chaos, and the orchestra needs help in rehearsing pieces. And trust me, big orchestras would fall apart without a conductor. You can play Baroque and Mozart without a conductor, but that's about it.
Mit Banduhr dirigieren…?
Why does this guy rush the intro?
He did a much better less timid performance in Indianapolis. I know, I was there.
Brad Pitt conducting 😮😮😮
45:06 ¿?
This part was very straight forward (a chord played on each beat), meaning the conductor didnt need to do anything to guide the orchestra up until the last 3 chords, which are on beat 1, 3, 1 and needed him to guide the orchestra to make sure they are in sync
Ok... That's the slowest waltz I've ever heard... 1st movement played like Brahms rather than Tchaikovsky...
Way too slow!
