Yes! You never realize how strenuous it is until you sit down. Lol I remember the first time in time square I walked for miles. When I got home my feet were sore. I slept good.
I loved seeing your reaction to my city! You navigated your way through the hustle and bustle quite well!Suggestion: When you’re unsure of which way you’re going, step to the side and use the map app on your phone. It definitely will come in handy. When you’re out n about. This feature helps with locating landmarks, restaurants, etc. As for restrooms, it depends on where you are - ie. 34th Street - Macy’s has several and Target is across the street. You can use the map for this, as well. The building that you thought was the Empire State Building is the Freedom Tower. If you have a taste for cheesecake when you come back, go to Junior’s!
That is exactly what a real bagel is supposed to be like! They boil them in water, and finish them in the oven. Soft inside then that little crispy outer skin. Quite a trip, thanks.
I love hearing visitors describe New York City, as a born and raised local it’s surprising sometimes to realize that everything, everywhere, all the time is not exactly the norm , but to us it’s home, it’s normal and comforting lol 🙋🏽♀️ hello from Brooklyn
NYC is my home city ❤️❤️❤️. Glad you got to explore it. Just a suggestion for anyone visiting their first time. Ive learned from visiting other cities that NYC is pretty big, but have no fear...NYC is a grid, where the Avenues run perpendicular to streets. Once you got that down pack, it's easy to navigate around. Subway system get some getting use too, but the maps are pretty clear. If you make a mistake and get on the wrong one. Just get off on the next stop, cross the platform, and get on the train going the opposite way to get back where you started.
There is no place like New York. When I first moved there, I had so much anxiety from all the people, my senses were in overdrive. But after some time I got used to it. And a lot of things I used to see and get nervous or grossed out by, didn't seem like a big deal after awhile. Gotta love New York! You are brave to do it alone for your first time there.
I visited DC when I lived in Brooklyn, got my purse snatched on the street, and when I got to the subway and smelled the urine in the hallway, I was like ahhhh I'm home and safe.
Nomi, I live vicariously through you. My anxiety level would be sky high if I tried to venture out alone like you do. I would have been shitting my pants walking through NYC alone while worrying about getting lost AND then getting on the wrong subway... 😵💫 I love your videos! Maybe one day I will grow a pair and get out and enjoy life a bit more.
Do, NYC is absolutely amazing! I grew up 25 mins away by train. Loved visiting the museums and galleries. The architecture, different cultures, amazing foods etc are not to be missed.
My brother is the principal Trumpet player for the Metropolitan Orchestra in NY. Next time you go to NY check out the cherry blossom trees. They also have different museums like the butterfly museum so pretty.
Hello!! I don't blame you for being scared of riding the Subway in NYC. I lived NY 25 years ago and when I go to visit my daughter in Long Island I hate riding the Subway!!!
Your voice is so soothing. I so appreciate being able to see the country through your eyes. You are so sure of yourself and so confident in your decisions. Thank you for sharing your days with us. If you like worship music while you drive let me know. I can send you a cd or a list of songs that will take you into the presence of God.
Im so happy you came to NYC!!! I have lived in New York my whole life and though some places come close, there's no place like it. It's loud and crazy and full of life. Extremely diverse, just a whole bunch of people runnin late & tryna make it through the day lol. TRULY the city that never sleeps. I'm glad you got to experience NYC! Blessings.
Southern girl here. I’ve always wanted to visit NY. It’s definitely on my bucket list. My first NYer was a guy I met in college who liked me. He loved my TN accent (what accent?? 🤭🤷🏾♀️😂). He was so aggressive and forward and wanted to take me home to meet his momma. As a naive 18 year old who’d never been away from home, he intimidated the hell out of me. However, all grown up now, I look back at how cool he actually was! I’m getting there hopefully one day! ♥️🥰
@@ms.one-town901 NYC in the last 3 years has been in a deep decline...if you visit please be very cautious. Hopefully, you visit when NYC is in a much better place 🗽
Oh Man!!....You were 10 minutes from my apartment when you were at Pick A Bagel, a place I use a lot. As for cheesecake, you didn't really have authentic NY cheesecake. The best known cheesecake place is Junior's which is in Brooklyn (somewhere else you should go next time you're here). I will warn you, Juniors cheesecake is on the heavy side, not light & fluffy. The building you thought was the Empire State Building is actually called the Freedom Tower. Love your channel AND your cooking. Safe travels!
NY/NJ has always been a beautiful place! My best friend moved to Jersey few years ago and it’s pleasant when I go. Beautiful scenery! R.I.P. to those who lost their lives from 911! 💙

I'm so glad you got to visit NYC! If or when you come back, if it's in the summer you should visit harlem week. It's a festival that proudly displays the history of harlem and black culture. Plenty of food, and vendors , live music. Everything! Aside from the crowd I'm sure you'll love it ❤️
Here are a few suggestions for the next time you grace us with your awesome presence, here in NY. I’m in Soho so my favorite spots tend to be fairly local. I'm sure someone mentioned here that you can always search Yelp for reviews. For Pizza: Prince Street Pizza, John’s Pizza on Bleecker and Artichoke Pizza on MacDougal. Bagels: Russ and Daughters on Houston and Murray’s on 6th Ave. For Ramen: Kyuramen on Union Square and for Dessert: not just for their delightful little cheese cakes but you have to try the world famous ‘cronut’ - it’s a combination croissant and donut at Dominque Ansel’s Bakery on Spring. It’s legendary.
When you got to go, we used to go to the World Trade Center or any large department store. I used to love it there as a young person but I agree, now it seems scary!

The next time you go to a city you don't know use your phone's GPS to find anything you need within walking distance of your location. Set it on walking/pedestrian mode it will tell you distance and time to get there. I love everytime I go to NYC especially during Christmas itis absolutely beautiful and Times Square is stunning Christmas to New Year's Day. You should have taken the tour bus it shows you places you miss, it tours the entire city and you can get off when you see where you want to go. The park your sitting in is Central Park that is the beginning of it in Lower Manhattan. You couldn't live there you would gain a lot of weight from eating all that good food. Glad you enjoyed NYC 👍😎.
When you said lasagna pizza, I closed my own eyes and said, I know that’s good!! 😂😂 NY will have you 1,000 pounds if it wasn’t for all the walking! Food so goodt!!!

Living in the least populated capital city in the US as well as one of the smallest (only 10 square miles), I tend to get overwhelmed and paranoid by larger, busier cities like NY or Detroit, but enjoy watching them in walking videos. Will probably always prefer my quaint walking city, but its fascinating to see how others navigate daily life and the particular vibe and sights of different cities. Thanks for taking me along.
Welcome to NY Ms. Nomad! If you want some peace and quiet in NYC try the battery park downtown near the WTC memorial. You’ll have a beautiful view of the Statue of Liberty and Jersey City.
Look at you girl in the big apple, the city that never sleeps, NEW YORK, NEW YORK. My home state. I told you my son lives in Indiana, I always bring him NY pizza in a cooler when I go see him. So glad you got to the city. The memorial is a very emotional trip. Im so proud of you. That was very brave of you going solo..
When you need to go to the restroom in NYC, search for a nice hotel (they're always the nicest and cleanest). If you don't have that as an option, Starbucks works. So glad that you enjoyed my city, she's a beast and a beauty at the same time... Gotta love NYC ❤

Thank you so much for posting your trip to New York! I'm from Queens NY and left in 1984 to join the Navy. The last time I was in Manhattan was in 2015 to visit my mom. as someone who's lived in NYC all their life, it was fascinating seeing it through your eyes. It can be quite intimidating and yes there are a lot of people who live (8 mil) here. But I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. to answer your bathroom question we go to Starbucks, a department store, or if we're really desperate the bathrooms in the larger train stations (Penn and Grand Central) but it's a struggle sometimes, lol.

What? 9 11 victims died from terrorism period. They were murdered. They didn't die for you or me. They died for nothing. They were victims of hate and terrorism. The exception would be the first responders who died trying to help others. We neither lost or won any freedoms from that day. It lead to more death and hate when Prez GWBush ordered our military yo go in search for (nonexistent) WMDs and retaliation. Emotional knee jerk reaction by one of ourvworst presidents. I was born/raised in San Francisco, CA and watching your video reminded me of home. Downtown San Francisco is so similar with tall buildings, people/restaurants, stores and it's hecka diversified. The Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), trains go far distances around the Bay Area and it also travels underwater. Now that's an adventure for sure. The dessert you ate (slim, cinnamon, sugar) is called a "Churro" often referred to as a Mexican donut, they're amazing dipped in melted milk chocolate. If you travel out to SF CA ride the train to Berkeley, CA and visit Noah's bagels and Blondie's pizza (so good). I miss my BEAUTIFUL city by the Bay because there's nowhere else in the world that can compare, it's awesome!!
What a cool way to see NYC. Kudos to you overcoming your "big city" fears and mastering the train! Look at you The hotels are astronomical, so being able to park and stay in your "home" and save is impressive. Thanks for taking us along. Looking forward to the next adventure.
Thank you, it was so much fun watching you explore my city!! Lots of first timers feel overwhelmed but there’s a reason for that and a trick to overcome it. It’s not just that we natives are used to the crowds, it’s that we identify as part of the crowd; we, all of us, are the city, so you gotta just jump in. The overwhelm calms down when you consider yourself part of it all, instead of simply an observer. Everybody, whether native, transplant, commuter, day tripper, or tourist (etc.), we’re all part of the experience😊
The three months I worked and lived in NYC made me feel as if I could accomplish whatever I wanted to accomplish. She said I don’t know what this is called. Love her. We love those being so close to Mexico here in San Diego
@@deemarie911 Yes, churros are amazing!
I love how NYC challenges not only your mind but pushes your body physically.
Yes! You never realize how strenuous it is until you sit down. Lol I remember the first time in time square I walked for miles. When I got home my feet were sore. I slept good.
Look, I want to go in two years so I'm starting a walking plan tomorrow!😅
I never since Time Square this empty 🤣🤣🤣I’m glad you got to enjoy will it was empty!!!
So you don't ask for help in New York city?
@@YumME72
It depends on who you ask. If you have a phone that can provide the answer(s), why would you ask?!
The restaurant rating system refers to cleanliness and such. Health inspectors give the rating.
Happy Saturday beautiful people. Stay safe, blessed and thankful. Peace and blessings everyone.🙏❤️
This! Lol Fellow Brooklyn Girl Here
NYC is my home city ❤️❤️❤️.
I love your videos! Maybe one day I will grow a pair and get out and enjoy life a bit more.
Me too.
Do, NYC is absolutely amazing!
I grew up 25 mins away by train. Loved visiting the museums and galleries. The architecture, different cultures, amazing foods etc are not to be missed.
I wouldn't cope... Cities scare the crap out of me...All those people
@@meatavoreNana I hope you are able to enjoy wherever you are 💗
@Cleanse Your Cache™ yes,I'm very happy in my little village...Thank you ❤️
My brother is the principal Trumpet player for the Metropolitan Orchestra in NY.
Native New Yorker been so long since I been home, enjoyed seeing it through your eyes.
Your voice is so soothing. I so appreciate being able to see the country through your eyes. You are so sure of yourself and so confident in your decisions. Thank you for sharing your days with us. If you like worship music while you drive let me know. I can send you a cd or a list of songs that will take you into the presence of God.
I admire you tackling the subways.
As an introvert and loner, myself, I found just watching this video of NY a little intimidating. Lol
Hi, im a native New Yorker and an introvert, it's not as bad as it seems. I feel like I can conquer the world being from New York.
@@christines6386 I can understand that..Im surprised how calm and peaceful the surroundings seem, despite the congestion of people and traffic..☺
Me too.
Blessings.
New Yorker here ✋ and agree 🗽
😆 I liked u said everyone is running late! I’m not from New York been there once, why is everyone in a hurry and running late? 😆
@@ms.one-town901
NYC in the last 3 years has been in a deep decline...if you visit please be very cautious.
Love your videos! I grew up in Jersey. I worked at the World Trade Center prior to 911. And now live in Fl😊The Memorial is something you should definitely see before you leave. There’s nothing like Manhattan, NY! Glad you got a chance to visit! God bless you and provide traveling mercies. May His blood cover you as you travel 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙏🏾🙏🏾😊
My HS prom was at the Marriott hotel that was there......way back in 1998.
I was born in Manhattan until I was 5. Moved to New Jersey until we left for FL back in the 80's.
I'm so glad you got to visit NYC! If or when you come back, if it's in the summer you should visit harlem week. It's a festival that proudly displays the history of harlem and black culture. Plenty of food, and vendors , live music. Everything! Aside from the crowd I'm sure you'll love it ❤️
Harlem week is so much fun.
New York reminds me of downtown Chicago. Tall building and busy, busy, busy. It's nice to see Time square up close and personal. I've never been to New York. Thank you so much for taking us and sharing. This video makes me want to go even more. Be Blessed and stay safe always everyone!
Chicagoan here 👋🏾 I looooove NY and instantly connect with NY’rs wherever I am.
@@ChayYP I'm thinking about moving to a more warmer state. Been in Chi-town all my life, my children are grown and I'm ready to explore soon.
Welcome to my world, my neck of the woods!
Awe....you discovered a churro!!!!! It is so awesome watching you discover new things!!!! Peace love and light my fellow Queen!!!
Wait until she tries them with chocolate
I was born and raised in NYC and I worked there all of my life until I retired. To me it's just home, even though now I live on a farm in the middle of a jungle. It's so wonderful to experience it through the eyes of someone who's never been there before. It makes me appreciate and love it even more...my home town. I love watching your journey. Be safe and God bless.
Oh my gosh, I can’t believe how empty it was and it was so sweet to hear you talk about how crowded it was! I hate to sound patronizing, but it really looks like an off day like a Sunday as someone else commented. I’m glad you had a good time!
Thank you for taking us along with you. When you were at the Memorial I got choked up remembering that horrific day! 💔 Following you from Oregon… Thank you for your service.
My hometown (NYC)😊. I moved south in 2006. I don't miss the winter months, especially the snow but I definitely miss the entertainment
What an awesome video. I found you by accident and have been binge watching your videos. I look forward to seeing at lest 3 of your videos daily. You rock and I also want to Thank you for your service. I am a wife, mother, granddaughter and niece of Soldiers, so, just want you to know, I appreciate you.
Boy I miss Times Square! I am from NY and relocated to Richmond Va! Stay alert and be careful!
What city do you live in honey.
@@BONIT4U2 Montpelier, Vermont
It looks like it was a pretty quiet day you were in Times Square.
I am 2 hours from NYC in South Jersey, yes it is so different and all the interesting things to see. Awesome place to see a Broadway show.
Happy Saturday girl! Awesome seeing you again! Have fun! Thanks for sharing!
Happy Sabbath.🕊
Yep that's us.. People everywhere... Go to Macy's on 34 th and 7th to use the ladies room.. Worked in the City for over 40 years..❤️
You are very brave!! I felt like I was walking along beside you in NYC. Your videos and editing are excellent. Thank you for sharing your travels and van life with us. I live in FLorida and love it. I hope you enjoy the beautiful sunshine state also.
Will never forget a high-school trip to New York. The Macy's parade, the Rocketes, Tavern on the Green, and the Chipendales! It was awesome!
Everytime I watch you I learn something new. You have me adding a new ingredient to my shopping cart everytime you cook too.
I LOVE THE WAY YOU ENJOY YOUR FOOD!!!!! YOUR FACE TELLS THE STORY OF HOW IT TASTE!!!!!🥰🥰🥰🥰
I was feeling anxious just watching you traverse NY and taking the subway. However I want to thank you for showing us NY and the 911 monument. I don’t think I have the gumption to walk around a big city as an introvert. The food that you showed us was fantastic. Thank you and stay safe.
You can navigate NYC...I learned the subway system and even go alone..I'm in my 60s..you can do it!!
Nomi , you are too funny when you were saying there's a lot of people.....you ain't seen nothing yet. lol. that was a very calm day in NYC. 🤗🤭😁
Thank you so much for posting your trip to New York! I'm from Queens NY and left in 1984 to join the Navy. The last time I was in Manhattan was in 2015 to visit my mom. My mom knew how to get around using mass-transit like nobody business. Night life is even more beautiful and spectacular but not by yourself cause it can be dangerous. Thanks for sharing the foods you brought, the pizza's, beef pie etc. I totally miss all the good food, Broadway shows and shopping. You brought back memories for me and I'm 64yrs old. Stay safe and God bless!
I left in 1980 for the Navy, I miss it, but my old neighborhood has changed drastically. (Williamsburg)
Yes, neighborhoods and life has changed for all of us! Look to Jesus! A BIG change is soon to come!
as someone who's lived in NYC all their life, it was fascinating seeing it through your eyes.
…and Micky D’s lol
Nomi I watch you with my mom and she always laughs about how much you love everything you eat. Seriously you make me hungry! God bless you on the road! ❤
That is so nice that you're honoring the people who died for our freedom
He made natters worse.
Your New York video was totally awesome 🤩!!
Thank you for another awesome video. Really enjoyed it. 911 Memorial is very emotional. Thank you for your service
What a cool way to see NYC. Kudos to you overcoming your "big city" fears and mastering the train! Look at you The hotels are astronomical, so being able to park and stay in your "home" and save is impressive. Thanks for taking us along. Looking forward to the next adventure.
And cook for herself instead of going to restaurants!
I learned my way around by Googling my trips and pressing either the bus icon or train icon for step by step directions.
I'm so glad you enjoyed your time on NYC. The look on your face went from nervousness on the first day to pure delight on the last day.
It's so true that if you can make it there you'll make it anywhere!
I love NYC!!! I go alone..in my 60s..my fun place ❤
You’re so Brave !!!! I’m from New Jersey and I’m watching you in New York, saying to myself, You have to be overwhelmed and then You said it 😇 . There was No way you could focus with that much happening around. New York is A LOT !!!! GREAT VIDEO 👍🏾
Wow 😲 I never knew NY was this busy. I was overwhelmed just watching this video. I'm impressed and yet this city is too fast paced and busy for my comfort level. Although it's nice to view it through the lens of someone else's experience and viewpoint. I guess NY is not the place for me, but it is beautiful 😍
She did so much more than just go to New York, she literally took the path train from New Jersey and had NEVER been to New York !!! Doing that alone took a lot Guts.
Thank you so much for this video it's okay to do NYC at nite the city that don't sleep concrete jungle 🌹✊🏿🙏🏿
I am a country girl, have never wanted to go to NYC, seeing it from your viewpoint was good enough for me. I am not into crowded city places. I am 68 and have traveled to the places I have wanted to visit. I am happy for you that you are getting to see places that is on your list.

Hey from Jersey 🖐️🖐️... I'm really glad that you ventured out,the city is overwhelming but interesting, many things to do,eat,smell...The night life is beautiful, different crowd, different vibe, wearing comfortable clothes and footwear is a must for me because those blocks are never ending, I'm 15 minutes away and don't go often due to going so much in my younger days, especially the LGB community/parade the end of June, you can meet some really authentic/beautiful people, I'm really proud of you for stepping out of the comfort zone🌹
I’m from CT about a hour from NY. My husband is from NY. As soon as it was open we took our three girls there. They did a beautiful job honoring everyone who lost there lives.

Don't worry about the calories. You did enough walking to burn them off. I enjoyed the trip. So glad you got to experience that.
You’ve got to be able to deal with the crowds. I’m a native Nee Yorker and it gets on my nerve. You are a trooper Sis, traveling about as a newbie is intimidating for sure. I was in the Oculus and it’s like another world.
