Have an 8 weight and the silver king which is good for 10. 11 12 weight. I been using them here in Maui Hawaii and Christmas Island. I have been beating the reels for 3 years and not a problem. Super reliable. Thank you for your videos.
Hey - nice video. I'm a huge fan of Nautilus reels and I found it interesting regarding your comment about how tight the spool release knob is. I have exactly the same problem with the NV-G series. It actually took two of us one time to loosen the spool: one holding the reel and turning the other holding the knob with a cloth before we could release it. Now I take great care not to fully tighten it when I need to change the spool.
What would be your choice for your single permit reel? Either the Hardy Fortuna Regent 8000 or the Nautilus CCF-x2 8/10? Do you think the 8000 regent could handle a 9wt or would you need to bump up to the 10000? Thanks in advance!
Great review! And I thought I was the only one who had the same problem with the knob. I could never understand why the knob got so tight and it took so much work to loosen it. But thank you for letting me know the cause of it. I have a X series 5 wt and my next investment is a CCF X2 9 wt for my foray into the saltwater world which I have always wanted to get into.
Have five nautilus reels. These are my absolute favorite reels... especially the silver king. Currently they are having some manufacturing issues, all the shops seem to be sold out of their inventory.....

Then you do not set the brake system properly. or it is broken, I have 7 Nautilus reels and one of them was so with the brake system. handed it in then it turned out well

Hey dude, yeah I have that issue with both of my reels, the ccfx2 and the nvg. I just have to live with it 😂🙌🏽🎉🎣🎣🎣

I wouldn’t buy it because the dreg knob doesn’t have any knurl or grip for wet hands, the hardy is much better for the cost
